Riu Yucatan AI
katrina replied to TammyWright's topic in Riviera Maya and Cancun Accommodations & Site
Here are the menu options for the wedding dinner. There are two restaurants- the Mexican restaurant and the SteakHouse (La Margarita). Both are right on the beach with ocean views. The time option for the Mexican restaurant is 8:45. The Steakhouse times are 6:45 or 8:45. Restaurant_-_Mexicano.doc Restaurant_-_Steak_House.doc -

Straw Raffia Fans vs. Bamboo Fans
katrina replied to bashigyal's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
well imo, unless all of your guests have already been to a DW, the fact that you are using some type of straw fans is already unique... just because it's common to all of us on bdw doesn't mean it's common in the "real world".. just my 2 cents! Quote: Originally Posted by bashigyal Yes it seems it's just the handle (looped vs. straight) and that the end of the bamboo fan is pointed vs. rounded on the other. i just clicked on both of the links and the only difference i could see between the two was the handle -

i have a question- when a member is banned, what exactly is banned? is it their email? username? ip address? i know that this is a public forum and if you google you can read posts from here but does that change once you're banned? i don't plan on getting banned anytime soon, i'm just curious

that's actually a great idea imo. ke'iki beach is not swimmable because of the current so there is hardly anyone there. but it is beautiful! I would send you some pics for reference but i'm not allowed to post anything cause i'm new to the forums...

the starfish were from here: Deltona Seashells & Gifts - STAR FISH the ceremony was pretty short.. maybe 20 minutes, but we didn't add anything- no sand ceremony, readings, etc. the dinner is semi-private.. there are others dining but there weren't near us at all. we did speeches but without a mic. my BIL is soft spoken so i think a few people had trouble hearing him but i honestly have no idea if we could have used a mic.. i didn't ask. let me know if you have more questions! Quote: Originally Posted by Kara&Ryan Your review is great! We are getting married there May! I am excited and nervous! I have so many questions still!! Was the dinner private Do they have a mic to do speeches with? thanks!!! -
car, you're from the NE too?? and it's true.. sometimes i try to explain the block party to dh and he just can't comprehend! Quote: Originally Posted by carly That's awesome. And I have to say that nothing beats a NE block party, especially from when we were little.

yes, we had a "welcome" dinner- there is no actual rehearsal so we included everyone. we had our ceremony at 3 and dinner at 6:45. it is a long time but with pictures and the cocktail time, no one noticed. we got chips and guac to hold everyone over. Quote: Originally Posted by Kristin Katrina, Did you do a rehearsal dinner with your guests the night before? I'm not sure if I should include everyone in on a dinner reservation or not? so this is what i'm making and bringing to my in-laws house this year... thanks for the recipe!!

we grew up in philly a couple of houses apart. and now we both live in nj, in neighboring towns. jac, i told my mom last night and she was freaking out haha.. she said hi! hahaha, this is the craziest thing. seriously jac, we lived 2 houses apart for what, 10ish years? insane! remember all our crazy block parties? hahaha
-
hahahaha, good i'm glad i don't just look like a creepy stalker. i was at 6110, the one with the driveway.. mike and patty (the hairdressers) are my parents.. sarah is my cousin- she's getting married in september! we're good! everyone is in jersey now. my parents are in palmyra and their hair salon is over here now too. don't know if you remember my baby sister morgan, but she's 13 now, which is nuts. her and my step-sister lauren are in my siggy. what about you? how are the moffetts? jac, this is going to be the creepiest thing ever, but did you grow up on marsden st in philly? i'm pretty sure we grew up 2 houses apart... hahaha Quote: Originally Posted by Jacqueline katrina and jess i live in delran too! haha small world! i go to the red box in the shoprite there too! yes! i'm all about group shopping!! We can all go grocery shopping together Sarah- I'm dying to know about this ending now for the Strangers. I have to watch it. I can guess what may be so disturbing about it, but now I definitely want to see this to verify my suspicions.
-
yep, the one in delran! haha, small world- that's the one we use also. maybe i'll see ya there sometime! the redbox is super easy to use. it's $1 for every day that you rent it and they get most of the new releases. i think they only have one or two copies of everything so you don't always get your first choice, but imo it's the best. i'll never use blockbuster or on demand ever again. Maybe I'll do that instead!!! Thanks for the info.
-
i've only seen the happening.. it was definitely entertaining, but i'm not sure i'd watch it more than once.. so personally i wouldn't buy it (or ask for it). do you use redbox? the shoprite on 130 by me has it but i think i'm a little south for you. but anyway, you can rent both of those movies at the redbox for $1. any movie is worth a buck!

Can anyone recommend a good juicer?
katrina replied to kristendotcom's topic in Martha Stewart Wannabees!
i want a juicer for xmas so i spent last month reading a ton of reviews. i ended up picking breville because it had the best reviews everywhere i looked. since it's for xmas i can't comment on it yet, but i am really excited to get it. maybe try looking on craigslist or ebay to see if you can get one cheaper? -
the transportation company we used to get us from RM to belize was impeccable. it was a clean and private van and the driver was so nice and pretty much gave us a tour of the rest of mexico and talked to us about what it's like to live in belize, etc. we stopped for a bathroom break and snacks along the way. honestly, it was probably the easiest transportation service i've ever used- way easier than a plane and much much cheaper.
