  1. a lot of ladies did this actually. i did a quick search and here's a couple threads i found, but there are a lot more. just search "hang tags" or "tags". http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t12228 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t7797
  2. has anyone bought mighty mend-it or pro-caulk? i want both of them!
  3. we just saw taken (in the theaters) and it was pretty good. very suspenseful and i love liam neeson. as for rentals, righteous kill with deniro and pacino was good.. but it was just kind of your basic cop thriller. and tropic thunder.. am i the only one that didn't dig it? the best part was the very end with tom cruise dancing.
  4. we had dinner and cake but no formal reception with dancing. after our dinner most of the guests went right to sleep. we found that we were partying with our guests every single day, so by the time our actual wedding rolled around, we definitely did not feel like we missed out on a party.
  5. here it is. it's from a book called "what looks like crazy" He leaned over and kissed her like they were alone in that room, and right then, right there, she didn’t care what came next. Whatever it was, she knew it would be all right, or it wouldn’t be all right, but it would be part of the same unbroken line they were all walking in, which is, of course, the real lesson, and about as much perfection as she could stand without crying right there in front of everybody, which is, of course, what she did. Then it was done, official, and the party could begin in earnest. And it did. And they danced too wild, and they sang too long, and they hugged too hard, and kissed too sweet, and threw their heads back and howled just as loud as they wanted to howl, because by now they were all old enough to know that what looks like crazy on an ordinary day looks a lot like love if you catch it in the moonlight.
  6. kate (LALA) had an nontraditional reading but it was a long time ago. let me see if i can find it...
  7. we got married without inviting my father. i see nothing wrong with it, as long as you are willing to buck up and deal with any possible backlash.

  9. if you are a lily allen fan, a digital download of her new cd is only $3.99 at amazon.com. the sale ends today so hurry!
  10. we're waiting also. we were 24 when we got married so although we married fairly young, we didn't want to be that young when we have kids (i know you're 22, i'm not judging, just speaking from our perspective). sometimes it's tough though because emotionally i want one! my best advice it to make it a goal to get as much done in the next year as you can (for us, it's 3 years). our goals are to keep our credit cards paid off, pay off our cars, i finish my career change, and we hike macchu pichu. it's easier to put off a baby when you put some things in front of it.

  13. i heard on the radio that he could face up to 9 years in prison! don't know how legit of a source that came from, but what an idiot!
  14. send me your email address and i'll send the vows, and nope, no blood test required.
  15. i had both. but my veil was really low on my head so the flower went on beneath and to the left of my right ear.
  16. it's called a "religious" ceremony, but that's very misleading. you can supply your own vows (in english) and the minister will read them. no one has any idea that ours wasn't legal and we just used the vows from las caletas, which are really beautiful. i don't recommend the vow renewal wedding as you can't change the vows and it's very obvious that it's just a recommitment ceremony, not a wedding. hope that helps.. Did you have to get bloodwork? How about the option of a "vow renewal" wedding? Did you look into this? Thanks :-)
  17. love it! yea this season is pretty shady. i don't want to spoil anything though for those of you who aren't caught up.
  18. we're getting our taxes done on v-day... yea romance!
  19. we went with the religious ceremony and supplied our own vows. if you do the civil or the symbolic you cannot change the vows. and no it didn't cost anymore.
  20. hi kara, i emailed you. Quote: Originally Posted by Kara&Ryan Hi Katrina, Thanks for all the great info so far. Could you please email me any extra info you may have from your wedding. Thanks, Kara while i was planning my wedding, there was only one other member getting married at the yucatan. then at the last minute, the hotel was overbooked and she had to switch resorts. so i empathize with you about having no one to get info from. i'm very serious when i say that my wedding went exactly the way i wanted. BUT i'm also a very laid back person so yea, there were things that weren't perfect, but i just didn't care. there is much more info on this resort now, then there was when i joined so just read everything and roll with the punches.. There seems to be very few of us at the Yucatan. Thanks, Tamasin
  21. i don't recommend this resort for a beach wedding. others may disagree with me, but it was too public and open. i like the privacy and lushness of a tropical garden. but the beach is great for lounging and swimming. our guests had no complaints. I have always wanted a beach wedding but reading your info I am changing the plans. Is the beach nice enough to enjoy as a guest? I see some pictures which I think might be dated were the beach is a mess. I am hoping no one is disappointed in our choice of locations. thanks again, Tamasin

For Riu Yucatán the options are: Garden area - secluded, quiet and little bite private (until 25pax). OK Hi Edith, How will the tables be set up for dinner? Also, I will need a small table for the guestbook. What are the drinks served with dinner? Dear Katrina, 1.- we have square tables 80 x 80 cm and we put them together to do rectangular tables of 10 people, no more. 2.- ok we will set an extra table for the guest book, please request it to your wedding coordinator at your wedding meeting upon arrival. 3.- Beer, wine and sodas. Dear Katrina, the name of the restaurant is La Margarita, and we could do a U shape. Kind regards, Edith* Thanks Edith. Can I hook up my Ipod to play music during dinner? It won't be loud. Can we have a welcome party at one of the bars the night before the wedding? Dear Katrina, we do not have sound system at dinners, if you would like you could bring your IPOD nd speakers and try to deal directly with the Hotel since it is a Hotel policy and for us it is not possible to allowed you to do that. In regards of the welcome cocktail you could check upon arrival where i the best place to have it and arrange i directly with the Hotel public relation Erik, if you would like we could arrange you a rehearsal dinner the night before of the wedding at the main restaurant 7pm buffet service. - Show quoted text - Kind regards, Edith* Hi Edith, What is the name of the lobby bar? Can I use artificial petals during the ceremony? Can you send me the vows for the symbolic ceremony? Can you send me a song list for the mariachi band? Gracias!!! Katrina Thompson escribió: What is the name of the lobby bar? La Cantina. Can I use artificial petals during the ceremony? You could use them at dinner but not at the open areas. Can you send me a song list for the mariachi band? they play mexican music, do you want an special song?, They could play a lot of mexican songs. Thanks Edith. We'd like to have a cocktail hour after the ceremony. What do you recommend for this? Is there a certain bar that this is good for? How much are hor'dourves? Can we do something simple like chips and salsa? Dear Katrina, We are going to arrange a cocktail time for you from 3:30 to 6.45 pm, at the lobby bar area, I have attached a list of the hor'dourves. The cocktail time will be at El Patio is an are located in the lobby area beside the main restaurant La Hacienda. Hi Edith, If we are just doing the symbolic ceremony, can I see the vows before hand? I want to make sure that I agree with them. If there is something I don't agree with, can it be changed? Also, do the wristbands come off easily for the photos? Dear Katrina, In the symbolic ceremony, you don´t exchange vows you just said I do, if you want to exchange vows, I recommend you to bring you owns and is not possible to change things for the ceremony. If you want to exchange vows I recommend you the Religious ceremony, I have attached it. The day of the wedding you two, your bridesmaids and groomsmen area allow to take off your wristbands. Edith or Cynthia, I hope you can help us and recommend the best ceremony. When we come to Mexico we will already be married but our guests do not know that and we have many people flying to Mexico to watch our ceremony. We want our ceremony to appear to be a real civil wedding but we do not need the legal paperwork. We also do not want anything too religious. Is there anyway that we can have the same vows as the legal ceremony? We do not need the blood test or anything like that, but we do want the civil vows. We will be having 26 guests with us and we all want to hear those vows. Please give me your best recommendation. Dear Katrina, In this case I recommend you to stay with the Religious ceremony cause for the symbolic the Judge does not speak English and they don´t allow us to do changes in the ceremony. I recommend to stay with the Religious and if you want something especial just send me your program and I will pass it to the Minister so he can make changes or add things to the ceremony. Hello! Hope everything is going well! 1- We would like to have a rehearsal dinner the night before. There will be 25 of us. Which restaurant will this be in? What time? 2- For the ceremony, I would really like to have our guests toss something in the air as we walk down the aisle. Are fake petals allowed in the garden? Or, we could use eco-fetti. It is biodegradable and will dissolve. It will not leave a mess. What do you think? 3- For the reception dinner, I have special name cards for the table. Am I able to give you a seating chart for the name cards? It will be very easy to understand. Thanks! Katrina Dear Katrina, Please find my comments in the body of your email. Kind Regards Cinthya P.
