  1. thomastaci22 - those are 8x8 - measure it and see if that is what you want - pretty small little bags. justustwo - how many would you need?
  2. Jenn - Thanks so much for getting back to us! Congratulations on your marriage!! I wonder if Dharma would be willing to lower the price of the big one if we did a huge bulk order. I'm going to order 75+, so I already get the lowest price, but if together with some other gals we ordered 200+, maybe they'd come down a bit? I wonder if I should call and ask...
  3. Yes, thank you - and I know you are probably in newlywed bliss right now, but if you could share whether you got the small (14x9) or large (18x16) tote for the bags, I'd totally appreciate it. What a great find! The small ones are more reasonably priced, but they seem really small!
  4. Do you know if Jenn got the 14"w x 9"h (small) or the 18"w x 16"h (large) one? I measured what 9" tall is and it is shorter than a box of a 12 pack of Corona beer (which is 10"). I have a feeling she got the large size. I would love to get the large size - but I'm trying to decide if I want to splurge or not considering I'm estimating needing around 75 tote bags (and yes, this is counting 1 bag per couple - I just happen to have a lot of guests (estimating btwn 100 and 120) and a lot of them are coming w/o sig others, even if they have sig others! I guess a nicer bag + screenprinting logo is worth it if I put less inside. So far I am planning on pashminas for the ladies (unless I have them at the wedding reception instead), and my maybes are: shot glass w/logo flipflop or fish playing cards welcome letter spanish/english phrases (make my own) bookmarks w/logo (vista print or make my own?) travel candle with logo? debating medicine (advil, immodium, pepcid)
  5. They are actually pretty small though - I'm pretty sure you won't e able to fit a towel in them for the beach or anything - maybe just a book and sunglasses? I wish they had a medium size...
  6. I've had a ton of problems with my travel agent (I picked her based on a recommendation), including several guests complaining about her for the entire time I've been working with her, so I really really encourage you to interview the person first and see how they work and if what they do will match your expectations. Of course mine talked a good game, but I think she is a bit old-fashioned and just can't really keep up with a large group, even though she supposedly works for destinationweddings.com (or one of those).
  7. I got SO much work done today! My job security relies on bdw having to do server maintenance!
  8. Thank you so much for looking! I think I need to just go to more real stores though since my dress is such an odd color (beigey ivory). You inspired me to look more though!
  9. I'm looking for something similar to this homa bridal creation hair comb. I saw a similar one to this in a more beigey color that matches my dress perfectly (color, material, style with the stuff falling off) at Saks 5th Avenue for $165 but I'd prefer not to spend that much on a hair piece if I can find it for less... my dress I'm trying to match:
  10. if you have a small group of adults only maybe look at the new el dorado maroma? or cieba del mar? (if you're fine with that price range)
  11. After a week of negotiation and discussion, I placed the order around January 1st and I received them on February 7th I think. I was in a rush though and Brittany went out her way to do a relatively fast turn-around for me. I think she usually requires considerably more time due to her busy schedule (3 months?) but I begged .
  12. I may end up needing a few more Pashminas if anyone ends up with extra. I ordered in Aqua and Dark Brown, though I'd take Turquoise too.
  13. Although I plan to do everything else myself, I didn't think I had the time to do 145 invitations on my own by hand, so we splurged on having them done professionally. After debating about whether it would be worth it to spend the $$$ on boxed invites, I went ahead and ordered the boxed invitations from Eiffel Design (the woman cheese_diva used). Compared to some other companies with similar designs, hers were more affordable (although still very pricey), and she did work with me a little on the price. Turns out it was worth it - I've gotten several calls, emails, and instant messages from family and friends about how much they love the invitations. My mom has also received calls from her friends. One of my mom's cousins said, "In the history of invitations, there has never been a more beautiful invitation than yours." For all of you who do them on your own, that would probably even mean more to you, but it still meant a lot to me that they all noticed and liked my choice and thought they were so unique. Anyhow, I thought I'd share some of the photos. Again - they are a version of cheese_diva's but with Caspian Blue (metallic Caribbeanish color).
  14. Ok - so if everyone throwing my showers are bridesmaids or ushers and I would be getting them presents anyhow that I was going to give them later, then it is ok not to give them as "hostess gifts" and not to give them exactly at the shower?
  15. yes I'm having that issue too (wanting to know my address - that was why I thought your idea was good!
  16. omg, mine are all last minute - I have some people in my wedding party who haven't even booked yet! I sent out invites today, so we'll see if that helps. The RSVP date is Feb 29th. I hope 2 months will give me enough time to do the OOT stuff! I have about 70 booked so far, but expect around 100-120 to actually come, so that is a big margin I can't just guess about (although I guessed for the pashminas). What I really need to do is go register. Ugh1
  17. Wow how do you all do all the OOT totes and reception stuff already? Do you already know how many guests are coming?
  18. So I'm back from the wedding in Aruba if you have any questions. While the place that the wedding took place at had an amazing sunset, I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to any of you. On the other hand, I did go out to dinner with my family one night at the Flying Fishbone, and it had a totally romantic and rustic chic setting that was completely separate from the whole highrise area, if you want a really special setting that feels away from it all! That would have been my pick if I were getting married in Aruba. The beaches about 15 minutes north of the high rise area are amazing - so please make sure to go to Arashi Beach, Bucuti Beach, etc.
  19. addisonreed1113 ( addison ) - Where did you get the idea to write "at home" and then your mailing address on the registry page? My mom has apparently been getting calls about my address and this seems like a good idea...is it something you've seen people do?
  20. thanks guys - b/c i already sent 28 (of 142) and then freaked that maybe i should have written something...glad to know it makes no diff!
  21. Did anyone write or stamp "Fragile" on box invitations containing a sand-dollar (or starfish), or did they just hope the US postal service would be gentle?
  22. BandE2008 - please tell me about your Bali plans - we want to surf on our honeymoon too and my FI hasn't done any research (even tho it was his one task) so I'm getting desperate - our wedding is May 4th...
