  1. Congrats on your choice. I thought #1 was the winner. I wish I would've found my dress somewhere for $200 less!! I don't think that you should be concerned. I think that its a plus that they're listed as an authorized seller especially on Maggie's website itself. In any event, just make sure that when you place the order, everything on your order form is correct, the designer name, the name/style # of the dress, the size, the color. As long as it's ordered as its written, you should be good!
  2. Wow, those came out great. Unless you told me I wouldn't know that they were silk flowers. Great job!

    Charlotte! You'll love it here!
  4. Wow! That is really amazing! As everyone keeps hearing about what a wonderful site this is I'm sure that soon that # will double too!! Congratulations & thanks to everyone for being sooo helpful. Like everyone has said, I don't know where I'd be without BDW. Here's to the continued success of BDW! Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!

So my fittings were actually based on the March wedding date. Once I changed the date, I never told the salon so I never changed the fittings. I"m wondering if I should do that now. If not, I'm going to have to pray everday from the last fitting in March to the wedding that I don't gain an ounce!
  6. Come to think of it, if you ordered it from the shop & they put your order in with the designer on the same day, the designer should have said at that time that the dress was being discontinued & they could not honor your order. I would think that this would happen right away. So how long ago was it that you placed your order that they are getting back to you today with this news? On the other hand, with the same circumstances, I would think that if you already ordered it, and the order went to the designer, why would the designer not honor his/her committment to have your dress. It would seem that when something is discontinued, it only affects future orders, not orders already placed. Do I make sense here? LOL

But, maybe they really don't know until the designer contacts them.
  8. I'm with Foxy. Definitely find out what they're planning to charge you for alterations.
  9. I think $220 is good considering my bridal salon is charging me $350. My first fitting is Feb 7th so I'll see how much I need done. I haven't even begun to look for veils, I've been proscratinating!!! How many fittings will you wind up having in total?
  10. It was really fun for me. The only thing that sucked was paying the rush fee cuz I waited too long. Hope you have fun!! Good luck & make sure you post all of the pics!!

Do they use some kind of custom printed menu for a wedding or do they hand out a standard looking menu such as the menu that they use everyday?
  12. Hey, not to hijack Heidi, but I just saw these: This is called "Now I have you" The Knot Wedding Shop: Wedding Favors, Wedding Cameras, Bridesmaid Gifts and more! And this one is called "Oh no you don't": The Knot Wedding Shop: Wedding Favors, Wedding Cameras, Bridesmaid Gifts and more!
  13. I was just thinking about table placecards when I had a thought about menu's & menu card's. I don't recall anyone mentioning this but what were the menu's like at your reception? Was there a menu at each person's seat? Was it their standard restaurant menu that they hand out everyday or was it a specially decorated menu for weddings? I totally didn't give menu cards too much thought & its not really important, but the placecards got me thinking. Also, as everyone has a choice as to what their entree is, once ordered, about how long did it take for the entree to arrive? And, did everyone's entree arrive at the same time? SIGH....Sooo many questions!!! So sorry!

I found the link they got it from...you have to check it out for a laugh. Custom Wedding Cake Toppers I saw that episode too!! When he said he had the "perfect place" for it & then put it on the floor & pushed it under the table, I couldnt help but laugh!!!
  16. I think you handled that very well but I still don't think I would even go to the store at all. Why relive that experience? And what if you happen to encounter the salesperson that gave you the terrible service? If you don't think the dress choice will matter to you, then I would let them pick out the dress & then you can order it from someplace else, as you said. On another note, I hope you made a complaint with your local Better Business Bureau against the store. All complaints go on record and I'm sure that would not look well when other consumers go to check them out. Before I ordered my gown, I made sure to look up each bridal salon that I thought I would use. One particular salon had too many outstanding/unresolved complaints so I scratched them off of my list!
  17. Love palm tree's but for some reason I really like the script R & the lines, # 4 & #7. You did a great job with these!
  18. Just wondering, did you have a welcome party or dinner? If so where was it & how did you like the setup?
  19. Please do not pay your FMIL ANY attention! Those are great! The time & effort you put into those alone definitely make them even better. They are nice & personal which is also a great touch! Like Yari asked is she old school? Maybe she expected something more "traditional". But since you're having a DW those are perfect.

  21. Thanks for posting the additional pics. Again, everything looked lovely. The table set up at the Plantation really looked nice. You guys giving each other dances on the main stage-toooo cute! And I see, the stork....LOL!
  22. Beautiful!! Love the halter & love the flower. It looks like it fits perfectly. So glad that you found the one, and on the 1st day!!!
