  2. We did not spend the night together. Since we didn't live together at the time it wasn't a big deal not to be with each other. So I had the room to myself & he went to stay with one of his GM. He did try to kick me out & have me leave so that he could have the suite but I wasn't going for it!! LOL We decided to avoid each other by saying that he would spend the day on one side of the resort & I on the other. Initially we thought it wouldn't be that hard to avoid each other since the resort is so big. But we did kinda catch glances of each other throughout the morning. I would see him coming one way & since I had the girls with me they would always run interference & make him go another way, so it worked out in the end. I was glad to be by myself the day of the wedding. I was able to relax & think about everything leading up to that day. Although I didn't sleep that well & kept wondering what he was doing that night & what he was thinking, I'm glad that we chose not to see each other.

Pacific Coast Feather Company - Best Selling Down Pillows, Neck Pillows, Bed Pillows, and Feather Pillows We absolutely LOVE them. We stayed at an Hilton Garden Inn a few weeks ago & literally had the best sleep ever. The pillows were soft but didn't have that sinking feeling that you usually get with down pillows. So ofcourse, I pulled the pillow cases off to see what kinda pillows they were. Then the next day they left a card on the bed telling all about their "sleep system" which really was about the pillows & their adjustable bed. The Pacific Coast pillow is a pillow within a pillow!!! So, if you need new pillows, these are definitely worth a try. I am so happy. I usually wake up with neck pain but since I've had these, I've been good. I even gave up my memory foam pillow for these! If you order them, definitely go online to JC Penny because they are on sale & cheaper there. They also have free shipping right now. JCPenney department
  4. If you're getting stuff when you get there, definitely check out Costco & any ABC store. The ABC stores had lots of souveniours & things you could use in the bags. They also have treats like macadameia nuts & coffee in all types of flavors! You could also give out t-shirts because they usually have shirts that vary from 5 for $10, 4 for $10, etc. Ofcourse the quality of the t-shirt varies. Oh, they also have magnets, cups, leis, lots of variety. I also went to Halo Hatties. They had a great variety as well.

I think it was like $50 to $70 per person, but we had some kind of coupon so that reduced the price. Just make sure that you make reservations in advance because some Luau's are only on certain days & you may not be able to go on the day that you want.
  6. Also keep a look out at the airport for mini-coupon books. When we went to Maui, at the airport they have a few kiosks with tons of books on everything you could imagine. Then when we walked out of the airport, there were people handing out more books! We used them for everything, dining, drinking & the luau. There was always a 2 for 1 coupon! So just keep an eye out for those.
  7. How funny is it that we are in the same boat! You know we got our pics around the same time and would you believe that I am just sending stuff out?? So with that being said, I don't think its too late at all. But then again, coming from a fellow procrastinator, maybe I'm wrong! LOL

  10. I'm with Carly. I probably wouldn't spend that on handwriting. I totally get you wanting them to look nice & neat, but the $90 bucks just kills me! Have you thought about your friends? Maybe one of them has neat handwriting? There's nothing better than a DIY project where all the girls help out! Also, not sure how this would work, but what about some type of clear/transparent sticky paper! You know what I mean Not regular white heavy paper, but something that you could use your computer to print out in a nice font then you could just stick it on? I know it sounds tacky or unappealing, but hopefully you can conceptualize what I'm trying to say! Try some kinda arts n craft store maybe
  11. Hey girls, quick question...Anyone know how their towels are? I've never stayed there so I'm just wondering how they are. I figure with a discount maybe it would be worth ordering a few. The description makes them sound so plush! W HOTELS - THE STORE
  12. Alyssa girl, you did a great job with everything! I love it all! You should really be proud of yourself. All of the little details tied together make for a wonderful wedding. Can't wait till you get back with your pics, those are going to be great!
  13. Yup, the ROR cakes are pretty basic. You can chose how many tiers you want, but they pretty much look the same. If you want something specific you'll prob have to go with an outside baker. I'll post a pic of my cake when I get home.

You can definitely provide your own music, especially for the 1st dance/bridal dance! Just give the DJ your discs & he will play your music mixed in with his. If you find him getting a little corny, then just send someone up to him & ask him to play something else!

  16. I too would book the rooms ASAP. If you book now, you won't have to worry about availability later on, which is very comforting!!! Also, this gives your guests plenty of time to budget accordingly! The only downside is that if you book now & the rates go down, you'll have paid the higher rate. That happened to us but luckily we were able to get our hotel to honor the lower rates. Also, you won't have the luxury of having one package with air & hotel together.
  17. Sorry to hear that! I know you're doing a lot of projects so at least it didn't affect any of them!
  18. Congrats! Love those flowers! Looks like it was a nice day!
  19. Love your pics Carly! As usual, you were glowing! So did you have 2 sets of BM's? I loved that pic with them together in their dresses! Also love your favors! Everything was just too cute!
  20. Morgan your book is excellent! You never cease to amaze me girly! I don't know how the heck I missed this thread but I'm glad I found it today! I'm definitely gonna take a look at lumapix. I had already started my book in publisher but you make me want to scrap mine altogether! In the meantime, I want you to get some business cards printed to showcase your many talents! I will gladly be your first client!
  21. Beautiful! Can't wait to see the rest! Thanks for the sneak peak Nathaniel!
  22. I just can't believe what a weekend this has been. First Bernie Mac, now Isaac Hayes! Absolutely crazy. Soul Legend Isaac Hayes Passes Away - AOL News Soul Legend Isaac Hayes Passes Away MEMPHIS, Tenn. (Aug. 10) -Isaac Hayes, the pioneering singer, songwriter and musician whose relentless "Theme From Shaft" won Academy and Grammy awards, died Sunday, the Shelby County Sheriff's Office said. He was 65. A family member found Hayes unresponsive near a treadmill and he was pronounced dead about an hour later at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis, according to the sheriff's office. The cause of death was not immediately known. In the early 1970s, Hayes laid the groundwork for disco, for what became known as urban-contemporary music and for romantic crooners like Barry White. And he was rapping before there was rap. His career hit another high in 1997 when he became the voice of Chef, the sensible school cook and devoted ladies man on the animated TV show "South Park." The album "Hot Buttered Soul" made Hayes a star in 1969. His shaven head, gold chains and sunglasses gave him a compelling visual image. "Hot Buttered Soul" was groundbreaking in several ways: He sang in a "cool" style unlike the usual histrionics of big-time soul singers. He prefaced the song with "raps," and the numbers ran longer than three minutes with lush arrangements. "Jocks would play it at night," Hayes recalled in a 1999 Associated Press interview. "They could go to the bathroom, they could get a sandwich, or whatever." Next came "Theme From Shaft," a No. 1 hit in 1971 from the film "Shaft" starring Richard Roundtree. "That was like the shot heard round the world," Hayes said in the 1999 interview. At the Oscar ceremony in 1972, Hayes performed the song wearing an eye-popping amount of gold and received a standing ovation. TV Guide later chose it as No. 18 in its list of television's 25 most memorable moments. He won an Academy Award for the song and was nominated for another one for the score. The song and score also won him two Grammys. "The rappers have gone in and created a lot of hit music based upon my influence," he said. "And they'll tell you if you ask." Hayes was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002. "I knew nothing about the business, or trends and things like that," he said. "I think it was a matter of timing. I didn't know what was unfolding." A self-taught musician, he was hired in 1964 by Stax Records of Memphis as a backup pianist, working as a session musician for Otis Redding and others. He also played saxophone. He began writing songs, establishing a songwriting partnership with David Porter, and in the 1960s they wrote such hits for Sam and Dave as "Hold On, I'm Coming" and "Soul Man." All this led to his recording contract. In 1972, he won another Grammy for his album "Black Moses" and earned a nickname he reluctantly embraced. Hayes composed film scores for "Tough Guys" and "Truck Turner" besides "Shaft." He also did the song "Two Cool Guys" on the "Beavis and Butt-Head Do America" movie soundtrack in 1996. Additionally, he was the voice of Nickelodeon's "Nick at Nite" and had radio shows in New York City (1996 to 2002) and then in Memphis. He was in several movies, including "It Could Happen to You" with Nicolas Cage, "Ninth Street" with Martin Sheen, "Reindeer Games" starring Ben Affleck and the blaxploitation parody "I'm Gonna Git You, Sucka." In the 1999 interview, Hayes described the South Park cook as "a person that speaks his mind; he's sensitive enough to care for children; he's wise enough to not be put into the 'whack' category like everybody else in town, and he l-o-o-o-o-ves the ladies." But Hayes angrily quit the show in 2006 after an episode mocked his Scientology religion. "There is a place in this world for satire, but there is a time when satire ends and intolerance and bigotry towards religious beliefs of others begins," he said. Co-creator creators Matt Stone responded that Hayes "has no problem, and he's cashed plenty of checks, with our show making fun of Christians." A subsequent episode of the show seemingly killed off the Chef character. Hayes was born in 1942 in a tin shack in Covington, Tenn., about 40 miles north of Memphis. He was raised by his maternal grandparents after his mother died and his father took off when he was 1 1/2. The family moved to Memphis when he was 6. Hayes wanted to be a doctor, but got redirected when he won a talent contest in ninth grade by singing Nat King Cole's "Looking Back." He held down various low-paying jobs, including shining shoes on the legendary Beale Street in Memphis. He also played gigs in rural Southern juke joints where at times he had to hit the floor because someone began shooting.
