Definitely contact her now & let her know what you would like to reserve. Things get booked quickly. -

After everyone finished with their dinner, we cut the cake. We then had dancing at the disco from 9:00-11:00. When we walked in, the DJ introduced us & we went right into our first dance. As the night went on, we did the bouqet/garter toss & had speeches. Really, the DJ wasn't too much of an MC. When it was time for speeches, we simply went & got the mic from him. After he announced us, that was the last time we heard him say a thing! We didn't really have a time line for when we did each thing. We knew we only had 2 hours before the disco opened to the public so we just had someone let us know when time was ticking away. If you want some kind of specific flow to things, you can either give the DJ a time line of when you want certain things done, or appoint a friend or family member to keep the timeline & be in charge as the MC. Oh, I also highly suggest that if you rent the disco, right before it's time for you to go in, designate someone to go in there & make sure that everything is ready. Make sure the air conditioner is on, make sure the DJ has your intro music ready & knows everyone's names that he is going to introduce. After this is done, you can then have someone escort your guests in before you are ready to make your entrance.

Looks like you guys had a great time! Is that one of the shower dresses you posted before?

Thanks so much ladies Just double check with Chandlyn to make sure the wine is included. You may also want to ask what brand it is just to make sure it's something you're familiar with. I remember a guest having wine but they didn't quite like it.

In terms of the menu cards, if you're going with the free reception at Mammee Bay & you're not changing the menu, then you can request a copy of the menu from Chandlyn. You can then use that to print your menu cards. Keep in mind, menu's are placed at each place setting at your reception, ofcourse they aren't personalized. So I'm guessing you're making them personalized! LOL Remember, the only thing that your guests actually order & get served, is their main entree. Everything else is buffet. This is basically what's on the menu at Mammee Bay: Steak House Specialty Restaurant Soup Onion Soup with cheese croutons Salads Fresh romaine lettuce and caesar dressing Endives in blue cheese dressing Tomato and mix leaves salad with crumbled fetta cheese Artichokes black olives and mozzarella Asparagus and mushrooms salad Grilled vegetables salad Russian salad Cold Special Smoked salmon with garnishes Cold cuts mirror Assorted cheeses Seared tuna with parsley salsa Garnishes and Dressings Balsamic vinaigrette Ranch dressing Caesar dressing Thousand island Green olives, capers, jalapeños, gherkins, parmesan cheese, croutons, biscuits, etc. Main Courses Served at Table 10 ounces beef master tenderloin Butterfly herbs chicken breast Center cut pork chops with fresh apples couli Grilled shrimps skewers with strawberries special couli Mixed grilled combination (chicken, shrimps, tender loin and sausage) Caribbean sea red snapper 8 ounces Australian cube roll Sauces Pepper sauce BBQ sauce Chimichurry All steaks are served with sauté Italian vegetables and baked potato Desserts Desserts bar, sliced fruit, ice cream and bread buffet -
Alcoholic drinks are not included in your free reception at Mammee Bay. If you want an open bar, then it is $10 per person. In addition to non-alcoholic beverages, I think only wine is included, free of charge, in the reception dinner at Mammee Bay. We decided not to pay for an open bar & we're glad that we didn't. Mammee Bay is close to the bar, which is next to the disco. When people wanted a drink, they simply went to the bar. If one guest was going, they would bring back multiple drinks for our other guests. Also, we were lucky enough to have the waiter even go get drinks for us. So we were able to avoid paying $10 per person for an "open bar".

This really makes me mad b/c I booked as soon as the 2009 dates opened and if I would have known this I would have picked a later time. I picked a package that included a dinner so I feel I should have been told this and given the option to book a later time before someone else did. Well nothing I can do about that now. I have 70+ guests coming to the wedding, it seems the ceremony is going to have to be at 2pm. Even if I have an extended cocktail hour it would have to be 3 hours to reach dinner time. What am I supposed to do during those 3 hours? I figured there would be the hors d'veours and I would do the cake cutting and special dances there. I would also have a steel drum band play. But what should I do for the rest of the time? I was also thinking about forgetting about the dinner reception and having the extended cocktail, but won't the guests be starving by the end of that and want to eat dinner? Any suggestions. Note to those considering ROR book the 4pm ceremony if you want a reception. Well, there are lots of ROR past brides who had early ceremonies & still had their reception at 6:30. Check out the Jamaica ROR wedding reviews & you may find what they did. You can still do the cake cutting & dances as you suggested, as well as the cocktail hour. Also keep in mind that if you're having a photographer, that process could take up to an hour. So lets look at your potential time line: Ceremony- 2pm to 3pm Cocktail hour & pics- 3pm to 4:00, or 4:30 That leaves 2 hours. You could slip the cake cutting & dances here. That could shave off another hour. So that leaves you at 5:30. You could always stay on the beach & have the steel band entertain you for that last hour! If you don't want to have the steel band that long, once all of the cake cutting & dancing is done, you could always suggest that guests change their clothes, into something more relaxing, or, you could always just hang out at the bar, which is right next to the disco. There were lots of brides who did this, the week that I was there. They had early ceremonies, and then I'd see them & their guests, lounging around the bar area as well as the lobby area, until it was time for their 6:30 reception. Oh, there's always St.Ann's! I think Courtney, aka Agape Gems, went to St.Ann's in btwn her ceremony & reception. Check out her review for specifics. You also suggested skipping the reception altogether. That's always an option, but don't do it out of frustration & regret it later. But, if skipping it is what you want to do, you can always take your guests off site & have some fun. You can arrange a trip to Margaritaville, or you could arrange a dinner cruise, you can arrange an excursion to Dunn's River! There are many choices!

Here's the menu for hor dourves: Hors d’’oeuvres Us 8.00 per person Tuna stuffed mushrooms, smoked salmon, Shrimp canapés, Serrano ham, cheese mousse ************ US8.00 per person Smoked salmon mousse, three cheeses canapés, tomato and egg canapés, ham and cheese canapés, BBQ chicken mini-brochettes ************* US10.00 per person Cheese stuffed chili peppers, BBQ chicken wings, beef mini-tacos, cheese sopes, chicken mini turnovers ************** US12.00 per person Lobster canapé over smoked salmon, mousse and bread, smoked salmon canapés, Serrano ham canapés, caviar canapé (mujol) ************** US12.00 per person Asparagus, smoked salmon, shrimp canapés, Serrano ham, caviar ************** US12.00 per person Shrimp tacos, cheese stuffed chili peppers, huitlacoche corn quesadillas, melted cheese stuffed mushroom with guacamole, totopos and Mexican salsa Again, make sure you double check with Chandlyn regarding the prices. There may have been price changes since 2007. I don't recall if any BDW brides had them served. You may have to check the Jamaica ROR wedding reviews. In terms of whether or not you should serve them, for me, it was a catch 22. When we were planning, we decided not to have them because we figured that the time btwn the end of the ceremony & the start of dinner, would be kinda quick. Plus, we figured, why ruin a potentially great wedding dinner & have guests get full on hd's. Now, looking back, I felt like it was a longggggggg wait btwn the end of the ceremony & dinner. Yes, we were busy with the photographer taking pics, but the guests were'nt involved in "our" pics. KNIM? Yes, we took group pics with family & friends, and yes, our guests got to take advantage of taking great pics as our photographer worked with us, but for some reason, I felt bad, as if they were bored. When I ran this past my guests when we got back home, they all said that they were fine & weren't bored & did not need hor dourves. So knowing that made me feel better. Plus, everyone loved their meals at Mammee Bay. What you can do is just make sure the guests are entertained. For instance, if you have music playing while you guys are taking pics, that helps. You can also "remind" them, that there will be about an hour to an hour & a half gap btwn the end of the ceremony & dinner. So maybe they should make sure that they have a nice filling lunch! That way, at least they won't be starved!! -

While you're taking pics, you can have hor dourves served on the beach, which can be your cocktail hour. There are different menu's with different choices. I think the least expensive option was $10 per person. I'll check to see if I still have the menu options saved. We didn't go for this option, we just had rum punch & champagne served. Ok, found the hor dourves menu. You may still want to check with Chandlyn about the prices. I've had this list since last year. Hor_dourves.doc -

I think it will make a difference whether I pick slow, sappy songs, or upbeat songs, depending on what the songs might actually be playing along with. In other words, what are you seeing on the video as the music is playing? When you get the videographer, he records the entire ceremony from start to end. He also takes still shots of you. When you get the video, you actually see everything that he recorded. You'll see the bridal party procession, the actual ceremony, and whatever happens after the ceremony & all of the still shots. So the music that you chose will be used throughout the video.

Try to stay positive about this! I know its easier said than done thanks to your stinky seamstress, but I'm sure you'll find something. Remember how you initially felt about your 1st dress You did find another & you will find one for your daughter! Good luck!
