I loved the Bears & the Cowboys. I mean, Troy Aikman & Emmitt Smith were my guys! And you couldn't say anything bad about Refrigerator Perry! LOL....But as I got older, I fell in love with my home team, but still had my love of the Cowboys. Please don't ban me!!!
  3. Ok, I'm going to admit this, reluctantly, but I also am a Cowboys fan. Tony Romo is just a good QB & altho Terrell Owens is a bit much at times, he is a good receiver. But, the Giants are my first love & you will never, ever find me rooting for the Boys when they play the Giants!!! Ok, I'm done...I'm going to go wash my mouth out now! LOL
  4. Congrats Shelley! As someone who fell in love with your starfish invites when I first joined, I'm sooo excited that you have a date! I can't wait to see all of the things you have planned!
  5. GIANTS ALL THE WAY!!! Fav player...Brandon Jacobs cuz he is unstoppable...followed by Eli Manning. I'd probably be a running back or return the punt since I used to run track.

Good to know that you're ok!
  7. I too agree with Becks. If this was your dream & this is your vision, then keep it as you have it. 20 minutes is going to fly by & you're guests will be fine! I'm sure that adjustments can be made somehow. Tell your WC to leave you alone & stop stressing you out with 2 weeks to go because you're getting married at the gazebo!!!
  8. Welcome Becky! You are definitely in the right place. There are a few brides who are scheduled to be married at RMB. Here's the thread with their information: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t28217 There are tons of BDW brides who have been married at Riu resorts! You can start in the Jamaica section, and check out the Jamaica Riu Brides & also be sure to do a search to find Riu brides from other destinations such Mexico. Good luck!
  9. Hmmm...choices, choices...LOL. They're all very nice but I vote for #1. I think its the colors that grab my attention. #3 would be my 2nd choice, followed by #4, because its different. Which are you guys leaning towards?
  10. That would be so cool. I just checked their website to see the new cities that they are flying to, but it didn't list Jamaica. But, the list only goes up to December 2008, so maybe they won't release the 2009 destinations until 2009. JetBlue | Where we jet My guests used Delta out of NY & we all loved it, but it really would be nice to have another option other than AA & Air Jamaica. I'll definitely stay tuned.

  12. You really do look great in the dress! It's very pretty, and I love the pink sash. The shoes are great as well. Definietly post the brooch when you find one! I think it'll be a nice touch.
  13. Awww...sorry to hear that you guys weren't able to get married. Thats very nice though that you're going to get a full refund! So, what do you plan to do now?

  15. The resort looks great! Makes me want to go just to visit! Can't wait to see how everything turns out for you on your day!

This is from an email that she sent: PLANTATION MENU (Included) Soup Pepper pot Soup SALADS AND COLD BUFFET Coleslaw Lettuce Simple Salad Dressings HOT BUFFET Steamed Vegetables Rice and Peas Plain Rice Shrimp Beef Tenderloin Chicken Bread DESSERT Assorted Pastry Assorted Fruits Wedding Cake Plantation Buffet option #1,Jamaican Menu (US$30/person) SOUP Pepper pot Soup SALADS AND COLD BUFFET Coleslaw Carrot and Raisin Potato Salad Lettuce Simple Salad Smoked Salmon Shrimps with Cocktail sauce Dressings HOTBUFFET Fried Plantain Rice and Peas Red Snapper Fillet Curry Goat Oxtail Chicken Yam Dumpling Bread DESSERT Jamaican Fresh Fruit Assorted Pastry Wedding Cake Option #2,Group Buffet (US$25/person) Salad Buffet Assorted bar of mixed and green salads with variety of dressings Cold Buffet: Proscuitto mirror with assorted melon pearls Variety of coldcuts and international cheeses Sorted bread buffet Soup: Roasted eggplant and tomatoes cream with a touch of gin Hot Buffet: Boulanger potatoes Italian vegetables Neapolitan rice Glazed sweet potatoes Hominy corn Scallion’s tomatoes and artichoke quiche Sautéed pasta with proscuitto, Champignons and sun dried tomatoes in a light pesto cream sauce Chicken breast in mushroom sauce Boneless lamb leg with papaya sauce Fresh pork loin stuffed with spinach and mozzarella cheese in an herb graying Caribbean sea grouper filet in almond sauce Dessert: Jamaican fruit buffet Assorted desserts out of our own pastry Option #3, Group Buffet ($35/person) Salad Buffet Assorted bar of mixed and green salads with variety of dressings Cold Buffet Proscuitto mirror with assorted melon pearls Smoked salmon with variety of garnitures Variety of cold cuts and international cheeses Sorted bread buffet Soup Roasted eggplant and tomatoes cream with a touch of gin Hot Buffet Boulanger potatoes Italian vegetables Neapolitan rice Glazed sweet potatoes Hominy corn Scallion’s tomatoes and artichoke quiche Sautéed pasta with prosciutto, Champignons and sun dried tomatoes in a light pesto cream sauce Chicken breast in mushroom sauce Boneless lamb leg with papaya sauce Fresh pork loin stuffed with spinach and mozzarella cheese in an herb graying Caribbean sea grouper filet in almond sauce Specials Beef tenderloin in a green whole pepper sauce Dessert Jamaican fruit buffet Assorted desserts out of our own pastry Again, this was from last year & only referred to the Plantation. You should ask Chandlyn if the menu can be upgraded at Mammee Bay & at what cost. Although we didn't have Jamaican food at our reception, the food we had was very good. Also, we had Jamaican food throughout the time there at most of the restaurants for lunch or dinner. I do know that Marsha, aka Precise Plans, had her reception at the Plantation. I don't remember if she upgraded her menu. You may want to PM her or look for her wedding review to see if she mentioned that.
  17. You know, its funny, I never even thought of having the video guy come to my room before the ceremony! LOL...I guess it wasn't high on my must have list. That being said, I'd save the $300 bucks for something else. As long as you have the pictures of you getting ready, you should be fine. Even now, if I were given the option to have video of me getting ready before the ceremony, I don't think I would have done it. Again, just my opinion!
  18. Tanya! Happy planning & congrats on being a Jamaica bride!

There was the one who we had during our private time & then at 11pm, when the disco opened up to the public, another DJ came. The DJ that we had inititally was just ok. I highly suggest bringing your own music. That way he will mix in his music with yours. He was nice & did take requests. The other DJ that came at 11pm was great though! We had a great time with him. He played much more up to date music & really had the crowd dancing all night. I'm not sure how they assign DJ's but again, just bring your own music & you should be good. All in all, our guests loved the disco & I'm glad that we chose to have it!
  20. Jenny, tell her that those are great! Her bf will love them! Thanks for the recommending Brandi!
  21. Congrats & Welcome to the forum!
