  1. The sand ceremony was done within our actual ceremony. Like right after we put on our rings, we then did the sand ceremony. Then we went back to standing in front of the arch & thats when the officiant did the "i pronounce you man & wife" part. So if you really want to do that, it can be done within the ceremony. As for walking down the aisle, yes, we walked down, got a few feet away, had our little hug & kiss & then turned around & came back to our guests. At some point after the ceremony our guests were given rum punch & champagne. I don't know when this happened because I think we were with our photographer. But there was no toast really until we had dinner at our reception. If you know that your guests don't drink & won't really need the champagne then skip it. Or maybe you could have something else other than champagne like sparkling cider. Maybe thats an option & it will satisfy your mother's wishes! LOL. I don't know how this will sound, but if your guests are going to be offered red stripes & water on the busride back to the restaurant, maybe you can do a "red stripe" toast on the bus, ofcourse before the driver takes off. I'm thinking that would make for a cool picture-everyone on the bus holding red stripes in the air & toasting to you! Sorry for sounding corny!
  2. That dress is beautiful on you!!! I think I tried on about 8 in total. The day I went to put my deposit on the one that I thought was "the one", I saw another dress that really caught my eye but I didn't think I would really like it. I tried it on just for fun, and ofcourse LOVED it! Congrats!
  3. Now that is too cute! Boy how I needed something to make me smile today while at stinky work! Thanks for posting Abbie.
  4. You really did a great job with everything! All of the paper products look wonderful. Love the hair style. The flower will be a very nice touch. Again, great job!
  5. So as I was on the train this afternoon, I noticed an ad for "paint-on" false eyelashes which is mascara. I was like, okkkk,, so I came home & looked them up. I was particularly interested when I noticed that they are actually sold at Sephora. Here's the links to the product: Imju Fiberwig / Pias Intercosmex (U.S.A.) Corporation Sephora: Imju Fiberwig Fiberwig: Mascara Anyone ever heard of this? Or tried it? Just wondering.

  8. There are tons of past & future ROR brides here at BDW. Just use the search key at the top of the page & type in "ROR" and you will find reviews & lots of pictures. Also, go to the Jamaica part of the forum & you'll find info there as well. You will love ROR though, I really did. Good luck!
  9. Leia, those pics are too cute. Love the cupcakes and love that dress! Was that one of the choices of the shower dresses that you posted before? You look so cute in it. Anyway, looks like you guys had a great time! Are you almost ready for the big day?
  10. This is reallly pretty! I think it will go great with your dress & it will be nice for your MOH in another color.
  11. I'm sorry you had to deal with the drama of your bridesmaid, she sounds like she was a real handful, especially with her cursing you out on your wedding day. I don't know how you managed to not kick her A$$! Your mom really did a good job with your room. The candles were a great touch. Anyway its good to know that nothing ruined your day! You looked beautiful & your pics tell that story!
  12. We did both. You can do so many things for favors. You can do personalized CD's of your favorite wedding songs, mini picture frames, monogrammed candles, decorated/themed wine stoppers, or you can do something which refers to your destination. For example, we got married in Jamaica so one of our favors was mini bottles of Appleton rum. It also depends on the number of guests that you're having & your budget. Check out the DIY part of the forum. You can also search for "wedding favors" and see what threads pop up. I'm sure you'll get lots of ideas.
  13. Those are great pics! You looked beautiful in your dress and your smile shows how happy you were! BTW-the sand dollar placecard looked just fine!
  14. Beautiful! Looks like you had a great time! You guys were smiling from beginning to end!
  15. I used Vistaprint to make all of my wedding related cards & my Thank you cards as well & they turned out great!

You can get them in personalized/monogrammed tins, or you can check arts & crafts stores and see if they have them in regular tins. I once saw them at Michaels and believe they were about $1 each. You could then get stickers, print your logo on them & use that. Just an idea!
  17. Ok and you're self conscious about your body why LOL...You look great in these pics & you did an amazing job with these. I never would've guessed that you did them yourself. Your FI will love them.
  18. I sent out STD's to everyone because I didn't want to hear any nonsense about why someone didn't get invited, even if I knew that the person was not going. Then based on the responses to the STD's, I started to figure out who would get an invitation. Basically, when it came time to put down deposits, I pretty much knew who was in & who was out. Then I just sent invitations to those people. That saved me time & money. So maybe send the STD's out, so that people know the basic info, and then send the invites out to the people that you know are coming.
  19. We took our group for a shopping trip & to visit Dunn River Falls. Everyone enjoyed both. I'm not sure about golfing though, but I'm sure that you can arrange that. There are vendors in the lobby of ROR & they will have lots of excursions to chose from. Definitely negotiate your prices, especiallly if you're going to have a large group. We used Lee's tours. I'm sure if you do a search you'll find reviews of them. You can always check their website & contact them for pricing.
  20. Definitely #2!! #1 is very nice, but the criss-cross back of #2 catches my eye the most. It also fits you nicely. I'm also thinking its much better on your pockets!
  21. Looks like you had a wonderful time. Your girls really did a great job. That cake & cake topper is absolutely cute! And gotta love the centerpieces & favors...that was a very unique idea.
  22. This has got to be the cutest game ever! I'll definitely have to keep this in mind if I'm ever hosting a shower! Thanks for sharing.
  23. Aw, how cute. That really is great that all the guests wore white. It's a nice picture. And boy, do I have bad memories of the "marshmellow game". Instead of marshmellows, I had bubblelicious gum. I cringe everytime I see a pack now. Love that cake! And a champagne boy? That is just too cute! Ok, off to look at the other pictures. Glad that you had a great time.
