26 Hours & Counting...Thank You Everyone!!
JUSTUSTWO replied to Ellipse22's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
Tanya, have a wonderful time. I know that the last few weeks have been stressful but I'm sure that your wedding day will be better than you expect. I can't wait for your review & pics! -
Yeah, thats the time that I caught it too. I really didn't want to post what he said but I thought that it wasn't right how the cosmetics industry has us thinking that all these creams work. It was also the first time that I heard anyone give a "medical" explanation of cellulite. I don't know why I never thought to actually look it up myself. Cuz based on what he said I can understand why creams wouldn't work. Anyway, I think you should keep up anything that you're doing especially if it makes a difference.

I tried to open the "Forum How To's" thread, but couldn't so here's how I found the info: Click on "Quick Links". Then go to "FAQ". From there, go to "Board FAQ". Then go to "User Profile Features", then "My Public Profile". Once at this screen you can change/update your info that shows under your avatar.

Cancelling ROR Photographer?!?!?!
JUSTUSTWO replied to Ellipse22's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
I don't think you should worry about it if you didn't give him a deposit. He shouldn't give you a hard time at all! -
Cancelling ROR Photographer?!?!?!
JUSTUSTWO replied to Ellipse22's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
I just looked at all of my correspondence from Michael that he sent me early this year. There is no mention of cancellation fee's in any of his emails. You should check the emails that he has sent you & see if they are mentioned. Then, I'd send him an email telling him that your plans have changed and you're no longer in need of his services. See what his response is & if he mentions any cancellation fees. How much did you deposit with him already? If his response is negative, then maybe you could reduce the 2 1/2 hours with him to maybe 1 hour which would decrease your $700 fee. -

I just looked at the correspondence that Michael sent me early this year before my wedding. There is nothing mentioned about a cancellation fee. Maybe you should take a look at any emails that he sent you & just check. Thn I would send him an email saying that your plans have changed & you no longer need his services. Then see what his response is and if he mentions any fee's. How much did you deposit with him? If he gives you a hard time, maybe you could keep him & change him from 2 1/2 hours to 1 hour so that the $700 is reduced to something less and then use that 1 hour for something else. -

Thanks again Tammy for all that you do to keep the forum running smoothly. -
I can't believe it either...7 months. We've been together so long that it feels like much longer. But marriage is great. Having that person that has your back thru thick & thin is a wonderful thing. I think we still learn new things everyday and it took a lot to get used to since we didn't live together before. We do have our down days where I could strangle him, which is usual but the good days far outweigh those days. I wouldn't do anything differently & I wouldn't trade him in for the world! Awww...you'll be fine! I remember the stress & anxiety all too well. I was a bundle of nerves even the morning that we left. But once we got on the plane I settled down a bit. When we pulled up to ROR & got out of the taxi and stepped into the lobby, I was a new person!!! Everything went away & I was totally excited. So trust me, you'll be fine. And if theres anything else that you need, just ask away!

Ladies, I saw Oprah today & thought of this thread. Today Dr.Oz was on & he was talking about beauty. Anyway, they got to the topic of cellulite. He explained what it is & how you get it. I DO NOT want to be a killjoy but figured it was nice to be informed and based on that I decided to post this. Now if you're using something or doing something & you feel that its working then by all means, continue to do what you do. But medically, this is what he said: He said that THERE IS NOTHING THAT YOU CAN DO FOR IT. YOU CAN NOT GET RID OF IT AND PILLS & CREAMS DON'T WORK. I was sooo not expecting him to say that & found it depressing. Then I thought about all of the things that are out there on the market for cellulite & realized that it sucks that so many products are labeled to "cure" when it can't be cured. Here's the link from Oprah.com: Dr. Oz's Beauty Book "If there's one thing women want a magic pill for, it's cellulite. Dr. Oz is here with some bad news. "You can't cure it. There's nothing you can do about it," he says. Cellulite is actually a collection of fat cells next to arteries that get larger when they take in extra nutrients, which increase as you age. "As those molecules of fat begin to accumulate in the individual fat cells, those cells become nice and big and plump," Dr. Oz says. As the cells grow, they suck more blood supply toward them, which helps them to keep growing. "They blow up like individual balloons.""

Readings at ROR ceremonies??

Chandlyn never told me if these were the religious vows so I'm wondering if there's a difference between the civil & religous vows. Maybe you ladies with upcoming weddings should find out & then post for the other future brides. -

Awwww....she is a cutie!! And I agree with everyone else who said that you were glowing!!!! Congrats to both of you again! -
Both are really pretty but the fitted one really catches my eye! I also seem to notice a smile while you have that dress on. Were you just smiling for the picture or smiling cuz you liked the way that you looked? I say go for the one that you LOVE the most & that you're most comfortable in. Forget about what you're "supposed" to wear and just go with what you "want" to wear, especially if FI would like to see you in something fitted. Also, it was hot in Jamaica, but I don't remember feeling like it was unbearable with my dress. I did change my dress but that was because I wanted to be free to enjoy dancing. Actually, you could always keep BOTH dresses & maybe change into the fitted one for the reception LOL

Congratulations Mrs.Ellis! Nice to hear that everything went well! Can't wait to see pics.

I knew there were some old threads around with vow examples. Here ya go: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t17096 http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13952 This thread also has a ton of vow threads in it too: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t18046-2 You should also google "writing wedding vows" or "examples of wedding vows". You'll find lots of info there. Hope that helps!

Here's a link to what they have posted on their site: Jamaica All Inclusive and Caribbean Cuisine at Riu Ocho Rios Hotel It doesn't include a menu for St.Ann's though, which is mostly where lunch is served besides the Plantation. I do have a menu for Plantation, but I think its a menu for weddings, not sure if its a general lunch menu.

Hey ladies, not sure if they have changed, but here are the vows that Chandlyn sent me in 2008: WEDDING VOWS _________(Groom/Bride’s name) will you take _____________(Groom’s /Bride’s name ) to be your wedded husband / wife to live together in the holy estate of marriage? Do you promise to love him/her honor and keep him/her in sickness and in health and forsaking all others keep only unto him/her so long as you both shall live? I__________take you _______to be my wife/ husband. I promise to be your loving and faithful wife/husband to share with you in plenty and in want, in joy and in sorrow, in sickness and in health as long as we both shall live. WEDDING_VOWS.doc -

I sent emails to all of my guests asking their sizes & then I went to buy the flip flops from Old Navy. I bought them in our wedding colors for the women but bought black & navy blue for the guys. I then put them in their OOT bags. Everyone loved the idea and even the guys wore theirs. I'd definitely do it again.
