What do you want to know from us Married Gals?

They did not feel it was necessary to spend money on food/drinks/partying offsite when all of that was included at the resort. The one exception might have been visiting Margaritaville. But other than that we all enjoyed spending the majority of our time at the resort! -
I definitely over packed as I tend to do all of the time!!! We HM'd in Hawaii for 1 week & and I came home with lots of clothes that I absolutely did not even look at much less wear! My train of thought when I packed was that I needed 2-3 outfits per day. Considering what we did, I only needed to change twice per day definitely not 3 times. We were on the beach everyday so I needed 1 bathing suit/cover up for the day & then I would change for either going out to tour the island or going to dinner. Definitely think about what you plan on doing day to day. Are you going to spend the majority of your time at the resort? On the beach/at the pool? Are you going on tours? I would take what you have so far & see how many outfits you can make out of everything & see if it gets you thru 2 weeks. The 10-12 tops that you just bought pretty much gives you 1 top per day which sounds good especially if you have stuff from last summer. Are you going to have any sun dresses or anything else? If so then I think you're good with those 10-12 tops.

Kelly's (KLC77) Planning Thread
JUSTUSTWO replied to KLC77's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
Love your dress & the BM dresses! Your hair inspiration, flowers & DIY tanks are great as well. And thanks for giving me another idea of something to order from Smarty Pants! I was gonna order the robes but may get the bags too since yours came out so nice. Have a wonderful time, enjoy every moment and can't wait for your return with your review & pics. Oh, did you manage to pack everything? LOL....I saw that thread of yours & couldn't help but laugh with you as you were cracking up at the fact that you never knew you had all of that stuff! I hope you worked it all out! -
I love the 1st one too, along with the 3rd, the 5th & the last! Very cute!

Why is finding a dress so hard!!!

I really like the dress though Meredith - by Maggie Sottero I just don't know what style of dress I'm looking for. I don't want it to be too informal because I still want to look like a bride but I don't want it to be too much for a beach destination wedding. Some of what I thought are below. PLEASE HELP ME WITH ANY OPINIONS!!!! Personally, I think you're on the right track. Of the ones above, I really like the Demetrios Destination Romance & the Maggie Sottero Meg. Don't worry about the dress being too casual or too formal. You don't have to fit a certain mold. Just go with what you really like/want. The most impt thing is how you feel in the dress. Trust me, you will feel like a bride no matter which type of dress you get. Just keep looking, try on different styles, take some pictures...have some fun! It will all come together & sometimes when you least expect it. -

After having a DW, what type of dress do you suggest? Do you think it's alright to wear "traditional" wedding dress or do you suggest a more informal, lighter one? Wow, this really was a great thread! It's cool that its back up. In terms of the dress, I sometimes wonder why I didn't go for something more "beachy" or "sexy" or "slinky/lacey". I guess I went for my dress cuz I loved it when I found it. It was traditional but when I put it on I knew that I had finally found the perfect one. I never let the fact that I was getting married on the beach totally affect the style of dress I wanted. So to answer your question, its perfectly fine to go with something traditional if thats what you want & thats what you like. Don't avoid the "traditional" dress just because you think you can't be traditional on a beach! KWIM? My only suggestion would be to definitely try on all types/styles of dresses, especially a type that you wouldn't normally consider cuz you never really know how its going to look until you actually try it on. You could always go traditional for the ceremony & go informal/light for the reception...that is if 2 dresses are in your budget! Hope I helped you. -
Riu Wedding Day Itinerary...Help!!!

You can use the photographer however you'd like. It really all depends on how much time you're booking him for. For example if you want the photog for 4 hours, then you are able to tell him how you want him to spend those 4 hours. Just take a look at the photog's pricelist & you can see the packages & prices. -
Riu Brides...bringing own music...

There is a CD player that you can use. Just give your cd's to Chandlyn, in the order that you would like them played, (make sure you label them if you're bringing more than one) and she will handle it at your ceremony. Lots of brides have used their ipod as well, with their own ipod docking station, although it was recently discovered that the CD can be used for this too. ROR Mammee Bay Steak House wedding dinner

Since there are up to 4 weddings a day, you can imagine how in demand their restaurants are. So getting your request to Chandlyn in advance would be the only way to guarantee getting what you want. -

Here is what i'm working with. 1.Free wedding package April 2. about 30 guest that include three 3yr olds and one 8mth old 3. Beach wedding 4. Mammee bay for dinner(due to amount of guest) 5. Photo-Micheal 6. Video...undecided 7. After dinner-- I want to be able to sit back and enjoy my time at the resort with my new wife and not feel like i need a vacation from my vacation when i get back to Toronto. So pls feel free to give advice on how to keep it simple and relaxing. It really seems like you have everything worked out already. What you have is pretty much what I had except for using Michael & Photoshop for our photos, but we did use them for the video. I was married in April, had about 30 guests, which included a 5 year old & a 1 year old. Our wedding was on the beach, we had our reception at Mammee Bay & we then rented the disco. We had a welcome dinner on the day that all of our guests arrived and we also offered a group tour on the morning after the wedding. Other than going on a tour for 1 day, we all spent our time on the beach during the day and then at dinner & being entertained by the staff in the evenings. You want to keep it simple, then do just that. Go there looking forward to having a great DW and enjoying the time you'll be spending with your guests. There are lots of tour providers there who will be able to suggest tours to you if you want to go offsite so thats what you can offer your guests who may want to venture out. Everything was wonderful. My DH & I had the best time, and our guests can't wait to go back to ROR. You will not feel like you need a vacation when you get back, but you will miss Jamaica & ROR. I have absolutely no complaints! Hope that helps you.

vote for my bridesmaid dress
JUSTUSTWO replied to SunBride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
Hmmmm....tough choice. While I do like #2 which is really cute, I think I like #1 better & without the sash. I definitely think that its a dress that you can wear again without it looking like a BM dress. I don't think you can go wrong with either but I really like #1. Which one are you really leaning towards? -
Want a bridal party but no one to ask
JUSTUSTWO replied to SgtPepperette's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I'm sure its upsetting to be in the situation that you are in, but just remember, measure your friendships by the quality of your relationship & not quantity. Its not really how many friends you have but the great relationship that you build when you find the right one! Friends come & go...I definitely learned this when it came time to plan my wedding. I've become closer with friends who supported me during the planning & also found out who my "real" friends are. I can count on 1 hand how many friends I have and each relationship is different. I also find that I have a better relationship with a friend that I met about 4 years ago than I have with one that I've known for over 10 years. So all of this is to say, don't worry about it. I'm sure that you will come across a truly genuine friend in your own time. As for the wedding party, if you don't find a MOH its really no big deal. Your FI can still have his dad as a BM without you having a MOH. Even if the BM sits down after you walk down the aisle, it won't be that noticeable. Or just ask the wife that moved to NC that you mentioned that you were kinda close with. Let her know how much you appreciate her being there for you & see what she says. So cheer up!!! Everything will work out! Just concentrate on the day itself & the fact that you're marrying a wonderful man! -
Thanks for all of your advice so far. I hope to have my mind made up at least by Saturday. I'll definitely let ya know what I decide! Oh, Rheanna mentioned getting a gaming device & I've got that covered...I'm getting my DS Lite today...HOPEFULLY!

So my Ipod crashed sometime ago & I am finally ready to buy another one My struggle is in which to go with. I had a 40 gB before & it was perfect. I think I had about 5000 songs on it before it died. Right now I'm looking at buying either the 120 gb classic or the 32 gb touch. The 120 gb classic holds up to 30,000 songs, has 150 hours of video & retails for $249. The advantage of going with the classic is the storage space and the price. The 32 gb touch holds up to 7000 songs, has 40 hours of video & retails for $399. For me the advantage here is the touch tecnology & the new games that they have. The disadvantage is THE PRICE! I didn't want to spend close to $400 on it. That thought is absolutely killing me. I'm also thinking that 32 gb just isn't enough especially considering that I already had about 5k songs on my old Ipod. The good thing is that I was able to find lower prices for both online at a reputable retailer where I could get the classic for $219 and the touch for $379. Also keep in mind, that I'll spend another $50 getting the Apple warranty with whichever I buy. I didn't have a warranty on the old one but I'm making sure that I get one this time around. So do I ignore my pockets and shell out the $400 for the touch or save a little $ and get the classic which will probably put me at around $250 Decisions, decisions...I need a little help here....whats your advice? TIA ...I'm only keeping the poll open for a few days because I think that I'm going to make my purchase this weekend

Beautiful! What are you thinking about going with in terms of jewelry? Maybe that will be the finishing touch as opposed to the brooch. But either way, you look great in it. -
I agree with Lizz. I don't recall how big it is either but I'm pretty sure its big enough for a camera. We had lots of stuff in there so I think you'll be good. Just remember...don't lose the key! If you lose it they will charge you to cut a new key!!!
