If you really want to use the hand wipes instead of the bottles, you can look for the box of individually wrapped Purell wipes. There were more than 100 in the box so I was able to give several packets to each guest. I just put them right into the first aid kit too. I think I got those from Staples as well. The box looks like this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/ima...F8&s=hpc&img=1 And each was individually wrapped like this: http://www.amazon.com/INDUSTRIES-GOJ...f=pd_sim_hpc_1

Putting together OOT bags???
JUSTUSTWO replied to klktx's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
For me, it was easier to pack all of the OOT items & then put the bags together when I got there. Since we were there a few days before our guests arrived, DH & I had time to arrange the bags before giving them out at our welcome dinner. We didn't have any problems with checking our luggage or anyone asking us what we had packed. Once we reached customs & told them that we were getting married it was no problem! Also since we had so much stuff to take we gave our parents some of our bags so that we wouldn't have to lug 7 pieces of luggage ourselves. If thats an option for you, I definitely suggest that. I don't think I would've even attempted to ship items to the hotel. I would'nt want to worry about everything arriving there safely & on time. Another thing that some BDW brides have done, is to give the bags out to their guests before they leave for the DW. The advantage to that is you don't have to worry about packing it & dealing with it yourself. Hope this helps! -

Do you think people will use them if they are opened like that? I think a few brides have done that. You could go to an Arts & Crafts store & buy the little candy organza bags & put them in there & tie them with a ribbon or just put them in the small snack size ziplocks. I think what you do depends on how many guests you're making them for. I'm not too sure if guests wouldn't think twice about using them if you packed them like that. You know people can be mighty picky sometimes! If you want to buy individual packets, definitely try Staples or BJ's/Costco. I got all of my meds from Staples & BJ's. For instance, Staples had a box of individually wrapped Tylenol. There were about 50 packets in the box, and each packet had 2 Tylenol. I was very surprised to find something like that at Staples. And I believe the box was about $20. I then went to BJ's & got a box Immodium, 50 individually wrapped packets, with 2 in a packet for about $20.

The gown I'm eyeing!!!
JUSTUSTWO replied to August2010Bride's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings
That is a beautiful dress! I agree with Jenny & you should go to a bridal shop & ask a seamstress about alterations. The shop where I bought my dress from charged a flat fee of about $250 for all alterations. Just make sure that where you go is reputable as the last thing you need is an alterations disaster. Oh, FYI...I'm 5'2 and when you go for your fittings, they usually require you to have the shoes that your wearing for the ceremony because the measurements & alterations are based on the height of your heel. -

Sorry if this question has already been answered but I feel a little lost on this part. You can go to any office supply store, such as Staples, Office Max, etc, and buy iron-on transfer paper. I believe I used the Avery brand. You then print your monogram, using your home printer, onto the transfer paper. Make sure you follow the directions on the box of the transfer paper. It will tell you to make sure your image is flipped, or mirrored. You have to do that or the monogram will print incorrectly. After you print it out, make sure to cut as close to the edge of the monogram as possible. This way when you go to iron it on, you won't see the edge's that you cut out, on the bag. Although the pic is very fuzzy, here was my finished product:

I would do a few as tests to see how well they hold up before you buy them in large quantities. Here's a thread that I found that may give you some ideas: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t33350 I knew someone on here had done this before so I went looking for the thread & found it. This thread has the pics of the mugs: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13580 And this one tells how she did it & what materials she used: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t13574 Morgan did these as well. Any suggestions? Basically I had everyone's email address so I just sent out 1 email to everyone asking for their size in t-shirts & flip flops. I mean it may have taken the surprise out of what they would be getting but I really wanted to make sure that I had the correct sizes. It worked very well but then I only had 30 guests to do this for, not 70! But I don't think you'll have a problem. If you do go this route, just make sure that the store that you are buying them from uses sizes in numbers as opposed to Small, Medium, Large. You don't want to ask your guest for sizes in #'s only to find that the store has them in S,M,L! I had to learn this the hard way! LOL And also ask that they respond by a certain date so that you're prepared & only have to make 1 trip. I also made sure to do this when the flip flops were on sale for 2 for $5 and the store manager gave me an extra discount since I bought so many.

I also must say that the personalized pens were a hit too.

I put in the 99 cent packs that had a total of 6 tablets in them. People used them and probably could've used more. And yes, the travel mug was the biggest hit by far! Everywhere we went on the resort, my guests had their mugs. It was very convienent and well used at the bar! The only thing that I second guess is the use of the monogrammed canvas tote as the OOT bag itself. While I loved it & will certainly use it again & again, I wonder who else will really use it again, with the exception of my mother! While it made for a great beach bag as I did see my guests using it on the beach or on our shopping tours, I'd still love to know if it will get used this summer by anyone else. Maybe I should have gone with the personalized paper gift bag or god forbid, skipped putting my monogram on it & just gone with a generic Jamaica design. Just food for thought for you brides to be!

How Has the Recession Affected Your Plans?
JUSTUSTWO replied to BillysBride's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
Savannah, I'm so sorry that you are going thru this complete overhaul! But its great to hear that you are still going to have your legal ceremony as planned and its nice that you guys decided to keep your plane tickets & do a site visit. Whats even better is the fact that you & FI talked about your situation & worked it out. As I'm already married, the economy hasn't affected any wedding plans but it has affected our plan to revisit Jamaica for our 1 year anniversary with all of our friends/family who attending our DW. Everyone had so much fun that they convinced DH & I to arrange a return trip for this year! And although initially I was not interested in planning a group trip for our anniversary, I eventually realized that if everyone had such a great time, why wouldn't I want them to return to a place that they enjoyed! So we got the rates & started sending info to people late last year. When I look back at where we were last year in terms of people who had made their reservations, compared to this point in time, its really crazy. At this time last year, mostly all of our guests were booked for JA. Thats a total of 30. Well needless to say, due to the economy, the majority of our guests had to "bail out" on the plan to return to JA this year! Out of 30, we only had 5 to 6 people say that they could afford to go. Everyone else just couldn't do it. I know its not the same in terms of wedding planning, but I was really excited at the idea of this return trip with friends/family for sentimental reasons. So now, we've had to push this idea back to maybe later this year and DH & I will probably go somewhere else for our 1 yr anniv. All of this is to say that you're definitely not alone in the impact of the economy pinch/crunch. I feel for all the upcoming brides who may be experiencing the same thing. I also know that if the economy was like this last year when I was planning our wedding, we wouldn't have had those 30 guests attend. I'm sure that the # would have been half of that. I know its going to take some time & its not going to happen overnight, but I pray that the economy turns around sooner rather than later! Oh, love your new siggy pic! -
Did anyone by OOT bag stuff in Jamaica?
JUSTUSTWO replied to jenjoe08's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
You can definitely get some things at the airport or you can stop at any local shopping area after you arrive. If you have arranged your own private transportation, you can always ask your driver to take you somewhere where you can get the items that you want. When I arrived at the resort, I had the transportation company that I was using for my entire stay, take me to one of their local friends at one of the shopping malls & I was able to get the mini bottles of Appleton rum that I gave out as favors. I definitely found the items to be much more expensive at the resort. Wherever you decide to go in Jamaica, don't be afraid to negotiate prices, especially if you're buying a lot of stuff and buying it from 1 particular store/vendor. -

Happy Wedding Day BachataBride, Chicklet and Christenew
JUSTUSTWO replied to Helen_S81's topic in CONGRATS & Shout outs!!
Hope you all are having amazing wedding days! Can't wait to hear about it all and see the pics! -
Awww...sorry for your frustration! Yes, this is perfectly normal & although you feel alone, your not. I have certainly been where you are now. I think that as happy as our friends/family are for us when we start planning, they don't stay as excited throughout cuz its not their big day! Its not all they eat, sleep, drink & dream about, thats left for us brides! LOL Why don't you take a week off! If you can't take an entire week off, then try a few days. Don't do any planning, no research, nothing wedding related. Relax & have some fun with FI or with some girlfriends. Try a spa day or something else relaxing! Just as you need a break with work & everyday stuff, you surely need a break from wedding planning too!!! And don't worry, you'll get excited again & your wedding will be wonderful & everything will fall into place.
