We picked our vows out together before hand so I'm not sure what I would've done if we had each written them separately. With me being so nosy, as he would certainly say, I'm sure I would've made him share his with me before. Think of it this way, do you think that if you hear what each other has written now that it will take away from the "moment" of hearing it for the first time on your actual day? If you don't think so, then go for it & share what you have so far. But on the other hand, if you think you want to hear them for the 1st time on your wedding day, then don't share them. I'm not sure I helped you but thats how I would decide

This is definitely a tough situation to be in. Personally, I would speak to a general manager at your resort or someone else in charge of the wedding department now, to reassure you that the plans you have made up to this point with the old WC will be honored with the new WC. I'd save every single email detailing all of the plans that you have already made & make sure you take those with you when you get to the resort. Anything that she promised you should be given to you at any rates that you discussed. I also don't think it would be fair of them to start charging you for any services with a new WC or with the old one that now works for an "event company"!!!! So don't let them pull that on you! I'd also be curious to know who is overseeing the weddings that are going on now. There has to be someone else that you can deal with until the new WC comes in 2 weeks. I know this isn't the ideal situation, but try to think positive. Maybe you will like the new WC & everything will be smooth from here on out. I'm sure its hard to see an upside, but at least this is happening 2 months out as opposed to 2 weeks out or 2 days out, and you have some time to make sure to that everything else goes as you want it.

Welcome to BDW & congrats on being a ROR bride. As Tammy suggested definitely do a search for ROR & check out the Jamaica sub-forum. You will find tons of us past ROR brides who have posted reviews & pics. You can definitely have a fun non-traditional reception. ROR offers entertainment options suce as fire dancers which some past BDW brides have had or you can have your reception on the beach or by the pool. Happy Planning!

I agree with Michelle in that I didn't want to deal with any stress so I just had my BFF as my MOH, her daughter was my FG & my DH had a BM. That was it. When I asked some other GF's to be my BM's, it seemed like it was going to be very difficult for all of them to work together since everyone has such different personalities & tastes. In the end, I don't regret not having more of a wedding party & it worked out fine.

This was not the case at ROR. It only took 2 to 3 months for me to get my official marriage certificate from them. Also some resorts let you leave with a temporary marriage certificate. I think you should definitely check with the resort that you are planning to have your ceremony at but I have not heard of that long time frame from any recent BDW Jamaica bride.

How is your FI coming down the aisle? Is he using any music? If so, why not have the BM's walk down to the same song he's using? It wasn't too long between the time my DH walked down & my MOH & FG, so they used the same song.
