  1. There are 2 gazebos, a pond gazebo & a gazebo on the beach. If you do a search for ROR, you'll see a thread that has pictures of both. Your location depends on what you're looking for. If you want to actually get married on the beach & be in the sand and near the ocean then the beach gazebo or the using the area to the side of the beach gazebo, would be ideal for you. If you're not interested in being in sand or having the ocean as your backdrop, then the pond gazebo could work for you. One of the hotel buildings is actually right behind the pond gazebo, so that would be your backdrop. Both are very nice but its just a matter of what you are looking for. We chose to get married on the beach but did not use the beach gazebo & had an arch instead. Definitely search the threads so that you can get an idea of all of your options!
  2. They will tell you that the room upgrades are really based upon availability. However, some past ROR brides have gotten them especially when they asked Chandlyn to see if the upgrade was available. We wound up getting the free wedding package & there were no guaranteed upgrades so since we knew we really wanted a suite, we just booked the suite. If you read some of the ROR wedding reviews, you'll see how many brides got the upgrade & compare that to those who did not. You should search for those reviews to see what others have discussed.

  4. Beautiful Shelley! Love the pink & blue together! And the cake looks picture perfect! Congratulations!!!!
  5. Great job with everything. The OOT bags you picked are too cute! Your ring is gorgeous & I love the hair style you picked out! Hope you have an amazing time in Cuba!
  6. Funny, I got an email the other day about Cinco De Mayo dishes, from the Foodnetwork. Here's a link to their page with Cinco De Mayo recipes: Recipes and Cooking : Holidays and Parties : Cinco De Mayo : Food Network Maybe you can find one thats pretty easy. I've been dying to make the Chicken Enchiladas that they have pictured. Maybe I'll get to that next weekend! I just started browsing thru the recipes. Do you like Shrimp Taco's?? This recipe is rated as "easy": http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/f...ipe/index.html Not sure how you feel about Guacamole but the Chunky Guacamole recipe seems easy too: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/t...ipe/index.html Or, how about going really easy & making a drink?? Is that an option? Here's their Mango Margarita Recipe: http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/m...ipe/index.html
  7. I wrapped each individual vase in plastic bubble wrap & then also put small hand towels around them & then put them inside my luggage in between other things so that they wouldn't shift. They arrived just fine Another option may be keeping the set in the box that its in & then put that in your luggage if the box isn't too big.
  8. Glad to hear that you did not cancel your ceremony & that you have friends there with you to share your day! Although its not as you planned, I hope the day is better than you even expected it to be! Happy Wedding Day!
  9. Welcome back & congratulations. Your pictures are beautiful. I love your hair, dress & your bouquets. The hair flower was a very nice touch & the colors & the BM dresses are cute! Love the picture with you guys kissing & holding the cake toppers!!!

You'll probably have to shop around for it until you find someone who is willing to give you a great deal. I think it was more expensive at the airport, but don't quote me on that! I saw prices starting at $6 & up but that's depending on the size of the bag. Just one word of caution, if you're planning to bring some home for friends & family, make sure you know what kind they like because they have ground coffee & the coffee beans. I bought beans back last year & my mom didn't have the appropriate coffee maker.
  11. Everything looks great! Love the flowers, the colors really pop. Can't wait to hear about the wonderful time that you are sure to have!
  12. So after reading this thread, I decided to give this a try since some of my clothes are getting a tad too tight (stinking thighs) & my tummy is getting on my nerves!!!! Not to mention that I'm returning to Jamaica in June & refuse to look the way I do now in a bikini. Target had it on sale so I got in on Sunday. I did it today because I was already sore since my softball season started yesterday & it was my first game since last season. Right now my thighs are throbbing. I could barely walk when I got up this morning from all the running around I did during softball, so I can imagine the pain that I'll be in tomorrow from Jillian. I have 5lb weights but knew that they were going to be waaayyy to heavy from your reviews, so tomorrow I have to get 3lb weights. I can only imagine how sore my arms are gonna be once I add the weights. Basically the cardio absolutely killed me. The jumping jacks & jumping rope & butt kicks were the worst for me!!! Everytime she got on the floor & got back up to do the cardio, I wanted to cry. I can take the squats & abs & lunges, but the cardio had me dying. The worst thing was that I can't find my dvd remote so I couldn't pause it which I guess is a good thing since she clearly discourages breaks. I just kept looking at the clock wondering when the longgg 20 minutes would be up. Anyway, after that I did my wii fit for another 30 minutes. I also bought Denise Austin's Ab's dvd & will add that to my regime. While my goal is to lose a few pounds, my main focus is toning, getting rid of my tummy & improving my cardio, so I plan to stick with this & hope that it gets better. I really liked how she kept changing the exercises & had you doing something different every 2 minutes. But one thing I know is that I truly can't imagine me moving on to level 2 anytime soon! Thanks for all of your advice & reviews.
  13. This is definitely a cool thread Morgan. In retrospect, I loved everything about my DW. But, if I could, I would've added 2 things, the steel drum band to play right after the ceremony, just to give it more of a "Jamaican flare" & fire dancers, had I known that the dancers were an option. I think my guests would've gotten a big kick about the fire dancers. Hmmm....what to take away is a tough one cuz I think we were pretty basic with all of our details. The one thing that comes to mind is my dress. Although I loved it & it wasn't over the top expensive, I sometimes think that I should've gotten a sexier or beachier dress...if that makes sense....& it may have been less expensive.
  14. You are just too funny!!! Glad that you had a great time & your pics are beautiful!

If you click on the little red volume icon's next to the word, it will give you the pronunciation, make sure you have the volume up: boudoir - Definition from the Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary I just had my BD pics done! Granted it was after my wedding but I'm giving it to my DH for our 1 year anniversary when we return to Jamaica in June. I absolutely did not regret it at all! It was so much fun & I while I was extremely nervous going in, by the end of the day I didn't want to leave. If you think you're gonna be a bundle of nerves, I highly suggest having a close friend go with you just for moral support.

  17. Shelley everything looks perfect! You did an amazing job with all of the DIY projects, especially that bracelet! You were my inspiration when I joined BDW & saw your starfish invites so I truly can't wait to see how everything comes together! Congrats!
  18. Reluctant Beach Bride you pics are just totally hot! Those last 3 take the cake! Your FI will definitely lovvvvvve these! Hope you're happy with all of them.
  19. Okay, Yamille, I'm repeating myself here because I've already told you, but really, they are all HOT!!!! I absolutely loved the ones that you picked out...the ones of you in the dress & in the skirt & tank, those are just crazy sexy! And I agree, the closeups of your face are amazing! I'm glad you're happy with the final product & I know your FI will be too!!!
  20. Shannon I think they all turned out great! I especially love the shots with the red shoes & the boa...but they are all just as hot!
  21. Just an FYI to those of you who may receive your proofs by this Friday. As indicated on her blog, Kamila will be out of the office for the next 2 weeks. As a result she states that if you are ordering a BD album, you should do so by April 27th. I assume that this specifically applies to anyone with an early May wedding especially the first week of May. Here's the info from her blog: "Orders and Out-of-Office I will be out of the office quite a bit in the next two weeks. April 28th I will be welcoming my new niece into the world! And then I will be away April 30 - May 5, and I have an all-day shoot May 6th - Starlet Sessions - so if you would like any orders for Mother’s Day and also boudoir album orders - please place them no later than Monday the 27th."

Yes, the DJ announced as we entered the disco & we did the first dance & speeches there as well. We did our speeches at the end of the night, right before the disco opened up to the public. Just remember you can do anything you want. If you want someone else to announce you, just make sure they are in the disco before you arrive & have them inform the DJ that they are going to announce you. He will gladly give them his mic.
  23. Great job with everything! I'm sure your guests will love it all!
