  1. I'm so sorry that you're going through this right now, but if it helps you any, you should know that you are not the only one who has had these exact same feelings & been where you are right now. I know there are plenty of threads that discussed this same topic. I even started one in my early stages of planning when I joined BDW. I can tell you from my own experience that on your wedding day, the people who did not travel with you, won't even cross your mind. All you will be thinking about is that its your wedding day & you are marrying the one you love, surrounded by friends & family who support you & love you too. You'll have such a wonderful time with the friends & family who do attend that you won't even remember the other people's names! And when you return home & share your experience with the people who didn't come & they see your beautiful pictures & hear from your other guests how amazing everything was, they will be the ones who regret that they didn't make it!!! Vent all you need to, cry about now, get it all out & then put it in the back of your mind. I too was overwhelmed & highly surprised by the people who came with us who I didn't really expect to come, while family members & close friends found reasons for why they couldn't make it. I don't know why it always seems to happen that way, but it does. I do know that my friendships/relationships definitely became stronger with those that supported us through our journey and for that I'm grateful. You'll get through this & you'll be fine!
  2. Those are great! I absolutely love the one in the chair & the last one. The background in the last one is so cool & I love the contrast of your outfit.
  3. Congratulations & welcome back Yamille!!! I'm glad that you had an amazing day! Can't wait to see the pics & hear about everything.
  4. Yup, totally agree..very addictive. Most of my wedding related projects were thru VistaPrint. I've gotten pens, t-shirts, my oversized postcard STD's, STD magnets, my thank you cards & welcome to Jamaica cards which were the folded note cards & hats. You really can't beat their prices, especially when so much of the stuff is free & I am always pleased with the quality of the products.
  5. Savannah, I didn't see this thread before but I just wanted to say that I hope everything is still going well!!! Keep us updated & I'm wishing you the best!!!
  6. I don't think you'll have a problem bringing meds into Jamaica. Lots of BDW Jamaica brides have included meds like those in our first aid kits & no one has had a problem as far as I can recall. Our return flight was overbooked so we spent 1 night at the Holiday Inn Sunspree. I think they had very small bars of soap & 1 small mini sized bottle of lotion in the bath room. I'm not 100% sure so I would highly suggest maybe you should call the hotel directly or send them an email, just to be sure. In terms of beach towels, I'm not too certain about Sunspree. Most resorts either give you a beach towel in your room or in the case of ROR, you have to get one at the towel hut on the way to the pool or beach.
  7. Very nice & sexy!!! Love the first pic & the one with you standing in front of the light. FI will definitely love them!
  8. I don't know how I missed this thread & I know I'm late, but you did a wonderful job with EVERYTHING!!! And your dress....beautiful! Can't wait to see pics of everything!!
  9. Are you talking about travel booklets that have info about the resort, your itinerary, etc? If so, I sent those out about 2-3 weeks before we left. I didn't want to send them out too early & then have my guests forget about them, so I sent them out when our departure date got closer. And yes, I only sent them out to those that booked & were going with us.
  10. Congrats Catherine! And you have every right to be happy as a pig in as any parent would be!
  11. Congratulations....Hope you have an amazing day!!!!
  12. Kay, I'm sorry for your frustration about the lack of communication from RMB, especially with the wedding 4 weeks away. As a past ROR bride I can't give you any insight into how much longer it will take the WC to respond, but I can totally understand how upset you are as I remember how anxious I was to hear from Chandlyn on some important issues as well. I can definitely remember sending emails asking very simple questions only for it to take days if not weeks just to get an answer. Does she have the WC's phone #? Maybe she could try giving her a call directly just to double check. I'm sure that the WC will respond before you guys depart for Jamaica, but in the event that the question goes unanswered, I would suggest that your daughter make sure she brings copies of those necessary legal documents with her. That way if anything wasn't received, she'll have it on hand with her & there won't be any issues that would prevent the wedding. So while I'm sure its easier said than done, try to relax & just enjoy the thought that in a few short weeks, you'll be at your daughter's wedding & enjoying the sun & sand of Jamaica. Hopefully all will fall into place & there won't be any regrets in chosing RMB. Good Luck!
  13. You two are a gorgeous couple, but girl you were STUNNING!!! Absolutely beautiful! Congrats & can't wait to see more!
  14. I hope your day was more than amazing!!!!!
  15. Love your planning thread Yamille! Everything looks perfect! I know you were stunning & I can't wait to hear about it!!!!
  16. You ladies are just too cute! LOL... It was sooo hard to maintain my composure when Tony asked me if there were naked pics in the box. If the floor could've opened up into a large sinkhole I definitely would've climbed right in!! I literally had to not look at him when I said no, because I was afraid he'd see the truth in my face. So when he asked, I kinda just moved my eyes...I'm telling you, that part was not expected...and yeah, its amazing that I didn't turn red!!! Oh, I never told DH what was in the package....so the secret is still safe & he is clueless about the BD pics. Trust me, it was hard as hell, but since I was able to vent to all of you, it definitely helped! I don't know how you ladies who took BD pics manage to keep it a secret until the wedding, especially those of you who take pics like 3 months before!! My hat's off to you for sure!!! So, he'll get the album when we return to Jamaica in 2 weeks (YAY, the countdown is on). After I give him the album, then I can finally tell him that I was stressed the hell out over the package cuz the package was the album & disc. The one thing I haven't figured out is when & how I'm gonna give him the album. Since we're not traveling with a photographer like we did for the wedding, I'm also trying to figure out how I can catch the expression on his face when he opens it. (And isn't that tragic, don't you think we should all be able to travel with photographers while on vacation?? Who else is gonna capture all of your shots when its just the 2 of you? Could you imagine LOL) Since there are a group of us going, I was thinking of asking my BFF to come to our room & take his pic as he opens it. My BFF is the only person going on the trip who already knows about the pics so I won't feel uncomfortable with her there just to capture the moment. Ofcourse she'll have to act like she's there for some other reason, but thats the only idea I can come up with, unless I try to take the pic myself? What do you guys think? When & how do I do the "presentation"? We'll be there for 5 days total & not that this really means anything but our 1 year, 2 month anniv would be on our 2nd day there.
  17. Congrats Harty! I don't know how you handled all of the drama but you are such a trooper!!! And I just absolutely love your humor & your screw em all attitude!!!! Can't wait to see your pics...You'll definitely have to point out your aunt! LOL I also hope that all goes well with your DH & Afghanastan!
  18. Congratulations!! Your pictures are beautiful!! Thanks for sharing!
  19. MODS, FEEL FREE TO UPDATE MY TITLE! Hey ladies, I'm sorry I've been MIA but I do have an update. First, again, I'm thanking ALL OF YOU WHO HAVE BEEN SO CONCERNED & WHO HAVE BEEN THINKING ABOUT ME. It really is sooo thoughtful of all of you & it felt great having your support! So last Friday, I stayed home & saw the UPS guy when he came. I asked him if he remembered leaving the package at the door on Monday. He said he didn't remember AT ALL, despite me telling him that I had a delivery confirmation. I describe the box to him based on the photog's description and he vaguely remembers the box. He goes on to say that he seriously doubts the package was stolen from my door, since he ALWAYS leaves packages at people's door in my building. He then suggests that MAYBE, MAYBE, he delivered it to the wrong building next door, to my apt # in that building. While its not something he does often, he says mistakes happen & maybe he did that in this instance. I felt that this was unlikely & even told him how DH had mentioned that he was gonna go next door to the other bldg & see if the person with our same apt # had the package but I thought it was a bad idea. The UPS guy had just come from the bldg next door & said he was going to go back to see if the person was home & then he'd come back to my bldg & let me know what happens. When he came back, I go downstairs & he's just standing there. As I approach him, HE PULLS THE BOX FROM BEHIND HIS BACK!!! You all just don't know how happy I was to see that darn box, it was amazing!!!! Actually, I'm sure you do know! I could've kissed him but I settled on hugging him. He then goes on to apologize over & over for the mishap. I tell him no problem & thank him again. I was thankful that at least he heard me out & went to check on it for me. Anyone else could've said sorry, not my problem! We then wonder why the person next door held on to the box the entire week. They could have easily brought it to me since it had my address & apt # clearly visible on the box. Not only that, but the shipping label that the photog used, had her name, address & her phone #. She could've called the photog & told her she had a misplaced package from her. Further, since the package had the UPS tracking #, she couldv've even called UPS. She told the UPS guy that she was holding the package until he came back to deliver something else to her!!! Sighhh.....Um, what if that day never came?? Or what if that was 2 weeks later?? Initially I was upset that she didn't think to return it herself, but I QUICKLY GOT OVER IT since the package was finally in my possession. When I thought about how badly this could have ended, my attitude changed & I stopped blaming the lady! Sooooooo again, I HAVE MY BD ALBUM & DISC!!! Last kicker of the story....as I'm thanking the UPS guy who I now know as Tony, he says, "so that package is from a photog huh?" I said "Yup". He goes, "soooo ANY NAKED PICS IN THERE"?" I COULD HAVE SANK INTO A HOLE WHEN HE ASKED ME THAT...I QUICKLY said "NO!...These are actually wedding pics!" He said "oohhh ok, darn!!!" UH HELLLLLOOOO WTF!!??!! LOL Anyway, thats it!! Looking back, I feel like I got crazy for nothing, but you know how it goes, when you're in panic mode, nothing can make your situation better.
  20. For me, I definitely think it was worth it!!! One of my gf's went on vacation this year with her fiance & when they came back she told me that he said thanks for the flip flops! I thought it was too funny and was glad to hear that people still use them even though its been a year later!! Since I needed precise sizes, I simply sent an email out to all of our guests asking them their sizes. Everyone responded promptly & I was able to get all of the flip flops that I needed from Old Navy when they were on sale 2 for $5. I bought so many that the manager even gave me a discount. I got fun colors for women & basic black & blue for the men. I then put everyone's pair in their OOT bag.
  21. Casey, I hope that you had an AMAZING wedding day! Can't wait to hear about it & see your pics!
