  2. Maybe you should mention it to her now so that she's not surprised later. Just run it by her with an emphasis on how hot it will be in Jamaica. Point out how uncomfortable you were in her house so she can imagine how you may feel in Jamaica and you just want to make sure you're comfortable. Hopefully she'll understand!
  3. to BDW Natalie! Congrats on being a ROR bride. You'll definitely finds lots of info here. August is right around the corner! Happy Planning!
  4. Thats a cute dress. I think you should bring a lighter dress just in case you feel like you need to change. I got a light, short ivory dress from JC Penny for under $50 & brought it with me as my standby & was sooo glad that I did. By the time we made it to the reception, I had to get out of my gown & into the 2nd dress. It was sooo hot in the disco that I really felt so much better once I changed.
  5. Glad to hear that you're enjoying yourself! Take every moment in & I hope you have an amazing wedding day!!!!
  6. Yamille, your pictures tell a wonderful story. You can see that you guys had an amazing day. I love the pics of you & the girls walking together & the pics of everyone crying even had me teary eyed!

I think that the location that you pick is just a personal preference and that we all picked the ceremony location that appealed to us the most. Some pick the beach because they want to have a ceremony right on the beach, in the sand, with the ocean behind them. If you're not into walking in the sand & being right on the beach then a beach ceremony might not be for you & the pond gazebo might better suit your needs. But then you have to keep in mind that the resort is your backdrop since the pond gazebo is located in front of the resort buildings. Why exactly were you having second thoughts about the pond gazebo?

I feel much better after talking to her. Although you spoke to her, maybe to be on the safe side, you should ask her for her email address & reconfirm everything that you booked in an email to her so that you have it in writing for your records! Again, just to be on the safe side! I'm glad that your mind is at ease now...3 weeks will fly by & you'll be at RMB before you know it.

I can't wait!

What a procrastinator I am! But our son was pretty sick the last two months so it kept getting pushed aside. Otherwise life is swell! Best wishes to all the new MRS! Adrene, I know I can't talk since I just got back from ROR myself, but I soooo envy you...you get to go back in a few months Can you take me with you AGAIN PLEASE!?! We hired a taxi driver to give us a tour for the day (if you go, I can give you his info) and saw so many wonderful things. He took us to a restaurant for lunch that we never would've found. The food was delicious and super cheap. I'm so happy we chose to stay in villas instead of a resort because it made me explore the area. I can't wait to go back. Jet Blue is supposed to start flying there in October from New York for $99 one way! Much better than the $600 flights we had. If I did my wedding all over ago, the location definitelty would've stayed the same. Great, now I want to go back right now! We went to St.Lucia on a cruise in April & LOVED IT!!! We did an all day tour with CoSol tours and it was great so I totally know what you mean when you say you could just move there. I also saw that JetBlue has the $99 special and have been tempted to take advantage of it. Quote: Originally Posted by Heidi Hi everyone! 11. I'm so sorry that this happened to you & that you're going through this. I just wanted to say that its definitely never too late to do a BD session. I know its disappointing & that you wanted this as a gift before your wedding, but you could still have it done as his anniversary gift, a birthday gift, even for Valentines day or Christmas or a just because gift! I did mine for my anniversary so I hope that this negative experience doesn't deter you from trying again. And thanks for your honest review!
  12. There's no need to be embarrased! BDW is here to be your sounding board. In terms of 2nd guessing your decision, trust me, thats quite natural since you're not going the "traditional" route of having a wedding at home. Like everyone has said, a DW can be just as amazing & as traditional as having your wedding at home. To me a DW is special in itself. Having family/friends travel with you to a tropical island where they take part in your wedding! How can you beat that? I think people enjoy DW's in general because its something different. Prior to my own wedding, most of my family & friends, including myself & DH had never been to a DW. We have memories of the entire weekend & days leading up to the wedding, that will last all of us a lifetime. If you feel that you want to add things to make your wedding extra special then you can always add little details. Little touches like having a steel drum band, if its in your budget & the idea of a poolside reception is unique in itself! And don't worry about dancing, if the poolside reception ends at 10:30, you can go into the disco & party until 2am!!!! And I can tell you, I just came back from my 2nd trip to ROR and while the food was good this time around, it was much better at my wedding! All of my guests who traveled with us this time, also came to the wedding & they agreed. So try not to worry about this too much. Your wedding will be wonderful!!!

  14. to BDW Tina! Congrats on being a ROR bride. You'll love it there. Happy Planning.
  15. I definitely agree with Lisa in that Riu's have some pretty affordable packages. You could definitely go with the free package. I just came back from ROR and it is just as beautiful now as it was when I got married there last year. Definitely take some time to browse the Jamaica threads and look at reviews & pics of recent weddings. There's a wealth of info around! Whichever resort you chose, I hope you guys have an amazing time.
  16. Congrats Andrea! Beautiful pics Tammy & Melissa! You guys did a great job!
  17. Happy wedding day Mesita! Hope you're having an amazing time!

But is it just me or do the "seasons" seem so short?
  19. I totally agree...this weather really sucks! I just got back from Jamaica and did not like coming back home to this gloom! Where oh were is the sunshine? Where are our 80 degree days? For heavens sake its JUNE!
  20. Kelly, I am sorry for your loss! I'll keep you & your family in my prayers!
  21. There is a Photoshop at ROR. Michael is the head photographer there and he has assitants. Here is a thread with his website where you can find pricing info: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t32260 Definitely take a look at his portfolio. There are lots of BDW ROR brides who have used Michael & Photoshop so you should definitely look at any pictures that they have posted to make sure that you like his style.
  22. 1. Who were you really taking the BD pics for? Yourself or your husband? I originally took them for him but the experience was also very good for me. Seeing myself like that definitely made me realize that I need to keep the sexy in our marriage. 2. What syle did you want for your pictures? Sexy & seductive? Glam? Elegant? Classy? Maxim-like sex kitten? Another adjective? I went for sexy & seductive, but also classy. 3. What was your motivation for wanting to take the pictures? Reward yourself for weight loss? Motivate yourself to get in better shape? Have a record of how hot you were in your younger days? Make yourself feel sexier? Make your husband think you are sexier? For me, I think it was all of the above except for the rewarding myself for weight loss. 4. Who do you think enjoyed the pictures more? You or your husband? I'll be giving them to DH tonight but I think we'll enjoy them equally, since I certainly look at them alot & smile! LOL 5. Did seeing the pictures make you look at yourself differently? Definitely...I don't think I ever looked at myself as truly "sexy". These made me realize that I do have sexiness in me...however deep down inside. 6. Was the experience good for your love life? I can't say yet but I think they will be. 7. If you did them again, would you do a different style? I'd probably do more Maxim type shots & definitely more risque shots. 8. Do you think BD pics make sense for single women who don't have a man to gift the pictures to? I'm not sure that I wouldv'e done a BD session without having a partner to give them too but I know from my own session that I truly enjoyed the overall experience. It was quite liberating & eye opening in that it made me see my own sensuality. I think that everywoman should know the power of her own being...Geez that sounds sappy! 9. Did you care if your photographer was male or female? I definitely wanted a female but may have gone with a male if I were doing a group session.
