Congrats Debra! Glad to hear that you had a wonderful experience. Can't wait to see your pics! And I totally agree with you, ROR's reservation system totally sucks! I have to post pics of my recent visit there. I have pics of the extremely long lines! I was actually up at 6:30am on a few mornings just to make reservations for my group. It was extremely annoying. I also experienced the same thing at Mammee Bay where they wouldn't seat us without everyone being present. Also, we had reservations for Tushima & one of our guests were about 30 mins late. They refused to serve her. So like you said, its important that future brides/guests know that if they make reservations they have to be on time!

While I am biased because I was a ROR bride, if you were thinking of RTP or RN I think that you should take a look in the Jamaica sub-forum & browse the RTP & RN wedding reviews. There are BDW brides who were married there & they have posted reviews & have had pleasant experiences just as ROR brides have. Since you mentioned those resorts which are in Negril, I guess its safe to say that you wanted to get married in Negril. Was there any reason that you chose Negril over Ocho Rios in the first place?

Happy Bday Jean-Marcus! You know in true BDW fashion you'll have to post pics of you celebrating your bday!

Wow, that is a great deal & you will appreciate the space on your wedding day! Good thing you decided to ask! It'll definitely be a great surprise. Are you going to be able to keep it a secret for 4 more months?

Congratulations! All of your hard work paid off!

Congrats!! I can't wait to see your pics! I was there with a group of friends & family from the 10th-14th & saw a wedding on Saturday so I'm wondering if it was yours. We were on our way to the beach party & saw a reception at Mammee Bay. I then saw a few wedding guests at the beach party who had the Oriental Trading fans tied with raffia. I remember thinking, this bride must be a BDW bride!

Using hanging flowers was also something that was popular here on BDW. This thread may help with inspiration: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t15191 Lastly, I knew there was a former ROR bride who had a beautiful chuppah for her wedding. She had colored fabric draped across the top. Like I said, I thought it was beautiful. I couldn't remember who it was but luckily I bookmarked her thread. It was Neema: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t29236 When you go into her thread, you'll see that she has a link to her photographer's site to view her wedding gallery. When I tried to look at her gallery it said that the password was incorrect. I'm thinking that since her wedding was last year, her gallery must have expired. Luckily, a picture of her on the beach, standing under her chuppah, is featured on the photog's site. When you go to the photog's site, click on Weddings. Then on the bottom, scroll to picture #8 and that is Neema's ceremony set up. Other BDW brides have used this particular photog so you'll also see other Jamaica & ROR brides in his slideshow & there is a picture of the beach gazebo there as well. I happened to see Live with Regis & Kelly today & Kelly mentioned that they will be on the show tomorrow, which is Thursday. When asked if Danielle would be there, Kelly said no, just the other women! I'll have to try to catch this tomorrow to see how the interview goes & see what they say.

Moe's Plannin Thread Super Long
JUSTUSTWO replied to moepeedy's topic in Destination Wedding Planning Journal
I was watching this thread as you were posting & couldn't wait until you finished so that I could jump in! You did a great job with EVERYTHING! You did your bouquet at Michaels? It looks absolutely beautiful! And your hair flower, your dress, your colors, the passport pre-travel invite, your BD album...all fabulous. And I think the table #'s idea was very unique!! Love it all! -
ROR- Opinion from past brides!!
JUSTUSTWO replied to btn1091's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I totally felt special on my wedding day. Yes Chandlyn was busy & she wasn't there at every single moment on my day, but it didn't matter. Her attention to my wants & needs were shown in the fact that my day was perfect. Everything that we discussed up to that day was delivered. There may have been other weddings on my day but I didn't notice any & wasn't really looking for any other brides. All that was on my mind was my day & having an amazing time with my DH, family & friends. Also in retrospect, at the time she was the ONLY WC there so it was to be expected that she was incredibly busy. I actually just returned from ROR & she was still doing things by herself because her assitant was at RMB that week. Seeing other brides there throughout my stay didn't bother me either. Anytime I happened to see other brides, I actually smiled as I saw them walking through the resort because I knew what a wonderful time they were about to have. (My family & friends hated when I saw a wedding in progress because I wanted to go & watch everyone!!!) So yes, there are multiple weddings on one day & through out the week but it's all good. Like others have said YOUR day is what you make of it & you will feel special and no one else will matter. -

I think the arch with those flowers & the tulle was about $400 or so. And the 2 standing floral arrangements were about $80-$85 a piece. Initially I thought it was all a bit pricey but its what I reallllllly wanted! And all of the flowers did double duty because they were used at my reception so I guess it does pay off. I'm glad that I could help & provide some reassurance.

My ceremony is booked for 4pm, and I have read that it's not very sunny over the gazebo at that time, so I was wondering about how practical it would be to pop the chuppah up somewhere sunny! Anyone do this? And in terms of the chuppah, have you even seen it done? was it nice? I think I might be the only bride on here who is not really into the beach gazebo, but maybe pictures just don't do it justice! There were a few ROR brides who did use the Chuppah/arch. You'd probably have to go & browse thru some older ROR reviews to find other pics. My ceremony was at 4pm and as far as I can remember there was plenty of sun. If I remember correctly, the sun tends to go down I'd say at least around 6ish. If you take a look at my non-pro & pro pics, you'll see that it was sunny at 4ish, but you should be able to see the progression of the sun setting through some pics. It didn't really get dark though until we were at our reception at Mammee Bay which started at 6:30. Remember, your ceremony is only going to last about 20 mins, so that should leave you plenty of time for sunny pics! Anyway, here's the arch as I had it decorated. The only thing I didn't like was that there weren't enough flowers in the colors that I wanted. It was greener than I actually envisioned but once I walked down the aisle, there wasn't anything I could do about it. So if you want more flowers used on top of the arch, make sure you let Chandlyn know or bring an inspiration picture. Now that I'm posting these pics, I do notice the shade in the pic above. But keep in mind that the pic above & below isn't a pro-pic. Its a picture that a guest took with a regular camera. There's more shade in this one too but there's still a great deal of sun & since there are palm tree's in this area, there's bound to be some amount of shade.

Mesita, I'm glad to hear that you had an amazing time in Mexico despite the swine flu fiasco! Your pictures are beautiful and you looked gorgeous! You certainly worked your dress & your DH worked that suit! LOL Your smiles in the pictures show that you had a wonderful time. The pic with you guys in the Sombrero's are just too cute! Its just soooo sad. I can't even imagine how his family must feel with his loss. I'm watching the news now & seeing how people were reacting in the streets with the news of his death. Its just crazy how people were in Times Square & at the Apollo. I also wish that I could've seen him in concert just one time! This is really going to be a sad weekend & a day that I will never forget!!!!

Whatever it was must be really bad cuz Caroline truly looked pissed and went on to say that she will never forgive Danielle & never like her. So it has to be really bad. But if Dina can potentially let by gones be by gones then I'm wondering why Caroline can't let it go as well. What gets me is that Danielle just sat there with a blank look & kept saying that she has no idea what Caroline is referring to. I guess the drama continues.

Videographer - was it worth it? ROR
JUSTUSTWO replied to krista's topic in Destination Weddings in Jamaica
I was able to find one other thread where someone thought the video was worth it: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t43696 We went with the videographer because we wanted to be able to share our ceremony with friends/family who couldn't make it to Jamaica. We didn't find him to be pushy & he didn't interrupt the ceremony but I will say that he does take a few still pictures of you immediately following the ceremony. He incorporates these pics into the video itself. This could pose a problem if you are bringing your own photographer since your photographer will probably want to take pics of you right after the ceremony too. So you'll have to make sure that the videographer does not monopolize your photographers time. Other than that, although I thought that the video was a bit cheesy, I am glad that we got it. Hope this helps! Hope you have fun & a wonderful wedding day! -
I haven't seen the reunion show yet so I'm not sure if this was mentioned but I was reading the NY Daily News today & saw this article: 'Real Housewives of New Jersey' star Danielle Staub blocks sex tape It appears that Danielle's ex on the show, Steve, had a sex video of them, which he apparently taped without Danielle's knowledge and he wanted to release it!!! She wound up getting an injunction preventing him from releasing it. It says that the injunction is temporary so I wonder what the next step will be. I was also surprised to read that the NJ girls were the most successful in the Real Housewives series: "The Real Housewives of New Jersey" has been the most successful installment in the franchise and is likely to be picked up, leaving wide open the question of Staub's future on the show." Their next season should really be interesting.

ROR - Garden Gazebo pics Anyone???

Make sure to do a search before posting new threads. Here's the thread that should help you: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t35532 If you take a look at some of the ROR wedding reviews, you may find more pictures.
