  1. Is it a large file? I need to clean up my computer, my memory is almost gone. Damn ferret pics!
  2. I'd love to go to Australia someday. Welcome to the forum.
  3. I'm horrible at cooking, see previous threads on my attempts! I am good for making dark chocolate covered strawberries. Just buy the microwaveable dark chocolate, I usually get Baker's Secret, dip the strawberries, place them on wax paper, pop in the fridge to cool and voila!
  4. Is it the cheating gene? I heard the ladies on The View talk about this earlier.
  5. Fantastic jewels! Courtney's website is like a candy store to me, I want it all!
  6. I don't think a "break up" date is necessary. It may just confuse her that you went to the concert with her but then decide to no longer be her friend. You cannot feel guilty or be guilt tripped. You are not responsible for her and don't allow her to make you feel as if you are. At this time in your life all of your energy needs to be focused on things that make you happy and fullfilled. Kindly explain that you are not able to attend the concert, period. You do not owe an explanation or apology. It would be better for you to surround yourself with true friends.

I'm not good at this messaging (PM) thing so either post on here or email me, please! Thanks, K You earn points by posting and viewing threads. 1 point for viewing, 5 for posting a reply and 15 for a new thread. You may get points for pics too, I don't remember. The only time you really need to use points is if you are buying something like a gift, shiny name, etc. You do need points to view some things. If you need points, most members are happy to donate them to you. I just donated some so you now have 1000.
  8. I thought we had several local (Mexico) photogs on the forum? Any local suggestions? Maybe find another Mexican photog that isn't banned? Sorry, not very useful.
  9. Happy Birthday to You! happy birthday to you, done singing now. Happy Birthday Becks!
  10. There are three accepted treatments for PTSD that have been proven efficacious and one of those is exposure therapy. The essential element is you write the trauma down and continue to write it down, adding more and more detail until you can tell the story without feeling the PTSD symptoms. I have talked about 9/11 every year to help myself decrease the negative feelings and yet also to remember. I was a senior in college. I was getting ready for school, watching Good Morning America. They had a camera on WTC within minutes and also somehow the ameteur footage quickly. I called my advisor at home, a History professor, and told him we were under attack. I had his number because his daughter was my babysitter. He told me, no we are not and to go to class. The second plan hit, my mom called. This is when I told her I was fine because I was in Williamsport, not exactly the hub of Western civilization. So I sat there until the sitter came. I drove to class, which was a film class. The screen was down and the news was on. There was a lot of talking and laughing going on. I was upset and complained to another political science student that no one was taking this serious. Then the Pentagon was hit and the class was silent. The mood was instant. I left to find my favorite political science professor but couldn't find him. I didn't know a plane had hit Shanksville, a teeny tiny village in PA and the home of my roommate. Classes continued for the day and I stayed. I kept trying to call my best friend who was doing study abroad in England but couldn't get through to her. Her parents also couldn't get through, turns out all the American students were sequestered in one room on campus for safety. The only person I knew that died was Father Mychel Judge, a franciscan monk who was at St Bonaventure for a time and also the NYFD chaplain. My school lost several former students and many parents of students. I remember at least three students did not return to school. Our ROTC students started training and a few were called to serve. Before I graduated, I recorded my memories for the archives. I sometimes wonder how future generations will react when they hear the stories.
  11. A gift is not required at any wedding according to Emily Post. We received a few gifts from those who did not attend our wedding but not many over all. Don't be upset, I think people are unsure and the economy sucks at the moment. We did receive cards congratulating us. I however am like you and send a gift even if I cannot attend.
  12. Think of it this way, you can always make the money back later but you cannot recreate your wedding day. Your friends and family that cannot attend will also enjoy great pictures.
  13. Black will limit the material for the menswear. You want to consider the comfort of the wedding party so linen is a good way to go. It is much easier to find tan/khaki linen pants then to find black. If your groomsmen are in different areas of the country, the dye lot will also matter as black can vary more than the neutrals.
  14. I didn't think about the date today until I put my daughter on the bus. Its weird to me that most of my memories are fuzzy or suppressed however I can clearly remember all of the events of the morning of 9/11, maybe because my daughter was exactly 4 months old that day and I was still hormonal. It is for my generation the 'where were you when Kennedy was shot?" I don't feel threatened now, nor did I then. As I told my mom when she wanted me to come home immediately-" I'm in Williamsport, Pa,mom, not exactly the hub of Western civilization." Anyone know what the plans are today to commemorate? I read The Pentagon finished their memorial.
  15. welcome to the forum! Are you an upstater or downstater?
  16. You can also use the power of BDW. I had problems with my contract a month before my wedding. The ladies here were more than willing to take the owner to task. Things are still not settled but I know the owner has checked this site and seen my review. I also know that at least one other bride has not used her venue because of my experience. Stay positive!
  17. Oh how horrible! What a beautiful kitty. I can't imagine how you feel, I would be crushed. Sending hugs.
  18. They were at Target in the one spot. Some are now on ebay and I sold my extras on the forum. Someone else may have some after their wedding.
