  1. I was thinking that but the problem is we are having a legal ceremony so all we would get is the bouquet and the cake- which I guess is better than nothing... Is the WISH for up to 6 guests?
  2. Well originally we were going to customize to add lobster but then Perla informed me it was going to $18 more per person in addition to the change fee of $40 (don't ask)! - We are pricing out the Fantasy, Aqua and Custom - It looks like the custom is certainly the most expensive - we are also doing the legal ceremony so that's another 1100 bucks! I am waiting on Perla and will post! Our dinner is about $80 pp on the Terrace..
  3. Oh Becks so sorry to hear that! I know how frustrating it is - but as FI always says "the right house will find you!"
  4. LOL! And what exactly does that mean? He is actually sending me a quote as we speak so hopefully it will be $1250 - that's what it says in the package information that Perla gave me. I'm hoping to post all my spreadsheets - just waiting on some additional prices from Perla. In terms of the centerpieces - do you girls know if they are included in the packages? We are thinking the AQUA package (with changes of course!) and I was wondering if they were included? Also wondering what you guys were doing in terms of appetizers?
  5. Another option is Mannia Audio Video e Iluminaciòn Profesional www.manniacancun.com. They have been recommended by a number of the girls on this forum and the rates are quite reasonable. I would also double check with your resort as to using outside vendors and their policies..
  6. Those look awesome! Gotta love Michaels! I used that same "sea glass" colour paper for mine as well. Great job
  7. Welcome to an extremely talented photographer!

    Welcome to a fellow Canadian!
  11. Most of us started earlier on - BUT that being said - they have so many brides that you don't become a priority until a few months out LOL so I wouldn't worry about it!
  12. I took a mental health day for me. Slept in - had a coffee and watched TV (and checked the forum of course!) and now I am going to go for a nice long run. What I love about it is that for once, I don't feel guilty. (I am that person that feels guilty when I take a sick day!)
  13. I was going to suggest 125 - I guess it just depends how confident you are if you are writing on them!
  14. Ben thinks I am being mean when i tell him I am glad he is going out. Don't get be wrong - he encourages me to do stuff with the girls but I don't think he realizes how much I secretly love it! In fact - I just planned a trip to vegas with my best friend of 25 years - YAHOO!

  16. Alright Girls - Perla was on fire today - responded of my emails that I sent this morning within 6 hours and sent all my spreadsheets - I am hoping to update them tonight with all the information she sent me and I will post tomorrow - couple of things I wanted to post: 1) The Cocktail Menu packages with the appetizers include an open bar for one hour 2) The packages include microphone and stereo set up for the ceremony 3) Children 3 and under are free for dinner, 4-10 yrs pay 50% If you guys have any specific questions I can try and answer them but I will certainly post the excel sheets asap..
  17. It all honesty it really depends on what you want. I think that every resort has it's advantages and drawbacks - It's interesting that we picked the Paradisus because the service was amazing - the site visit was awesome, they answer my emails the same day, with options. Yes they have higher prices and yes they have restrictions - but I think most AIs have some restrictions. If I can spend $10,000 on a four course, lobster steak dinner, and dancing beachside I would rather do that as would most of us then spend four or five times as much for a wedding in our home town. It's funny how everyone has different experiences with each of the resorts. I know a lot of the girls on this forum have/will be getting married at Dreams Cancun and for us, it was a bad experience to do a site visit and a lot of other things that turned us off it. That's not to say it's any worse than any other resort - could have been the day we were there or a thousand other reasons. I think anytime you use the word "wedding" there are extra costs.
  18. Welcome fellowo Torontian! I would search the CABO section and all look at budgets here on the forum - you can do a destination wedding from $5000 - $40,000 depending on what you want and where you go! In terms of involvement with the wedding coordinator - you can really be as involved as you choose - most of the girls on here have been involved and done a lot of do-it-yourself projects and special touches for the wedding!
  19. I am just annoyed at everything in general today. URGH
  20. It is a hard decision - no question about it. We looked (did site visits) -of 8 or so resorts in the last year through a number of vacations and in all honesty we didn't like a lot of them for various reasons. I do think that if what you want is a private dinner, customized menu, DJ etc. you are going to pay extra - again really all depends on what you want. We were at a wedding at the Grand Sirenis in November - they got the 'basic' package, used IPOD and just for the ceremony and dinner it was $5000 - so I think that any resort has costs associated with the wedding. In terms of guest prices we struggled with this as well. We are paying 1900 per person for the week and there isn't a good single supplement so we have people paying more if they are travelling alone. It is a hard decision and there are draw backs everywhere.
