Alright girls I need your brainstorming ideas - My mother in law is in Playa Del Carmen and has offered to stop at the resort and do anything we need.. problem is I cannot think of anything at all! We did a site visit in November so we have seen it, have pictures etc. Can anyone think of anything?

I'm with Becks! We are getting married at the same resort and when I priced it out "a la carte" it was over $1000 cheaper!

I got an email from Perla on Friday night and then she hasn't respond to one I sent her - wonder what's up.. On the DJ front - I have always had a weird vibe from Swank - I just didn't feel as though they were professional from the beginning -this just makes we want to use them even less! I did as her if we had to pay a fee for our photog since they are staying with us for the week and she said no - but I need to double check! THere is no way I am paying a fee if they are there all week with us!

I thought so too until I started researching - they will not guarantee that you will be the only wedding that day - it just depends~

We are doing these too! Ordering them from bridalandbeyond.weddingstar.com. They are only 12.98 per package of 50 customized so I don't mind spending that!

We have family in Ontario and Alberta and we go back and forth regularily as to whether or not we want to have an AHR - I think in the end we won't!

Well the first thing I would think about is save the dates (if you wanted done that already!) - My recommendation would be to send those out sooner than later to give people plenty of time. In terms of flowers, food, music, etc. those are things you can start thinking about and getting ideas from here and from the net and other sites - if you find things you like you can email the WC and ask for pricing on things. YOu can also start thinking about things like OOT bags, etc. We are getting married end of November. Once we had our date and time confirmed, we sent out our save the dates to our guests. So far we have bought my dress and been bridesmaid dress shopping. I have also been emailing with the WC re: menus, flowers etc. Another aspect you may want to consider is photography given that photogs book up early. Think about whether you want to bring someone down with you or hire someone down there and talk the the resort (or other BDW) to find out about outside vendor fees. Hope this helps - I totally understand how you feel - better to get as many things done earlier than later!

We are at the Paradisus - there are no time restrictions - if we go after midnight we have to pay a small service fee for the wait staff!

Are you doing a legal ceremony or symbolic - I would assume if you were doing legal that they would have confirmed with the judge (at least that was the case for me - paid the deposit and got confirmation in Dec 2007 for November 200. If it's symbolic it might be a different story!

We had our group rate locked in with Air Canada Vacations in early February for our wedding which is November 27, 2008!

Celina I am truly sorry for you. There is nothing more hurtful than someone accusing the person that you love and will spend the rest of your life with of something so unimaginable. At this point, while hard to do so, you need to know that her only reason for doing so is because she is jealous of the person you are and the life you have. Keep your chin up.
