    New Bride

    Congrats fellow Torontonian and welcome!
  4. Interesting. Funny how what's correct and what's current isn't always the same thing!
  5. I am sorry for your displacement (that sounds weird). I will tell you from someone who has been to the PRC - you have nothing to worry about. As far as I know there is no one on here getting married on 10/27. I believe that I am the next PRC original bride - I think there are a couple others that have moved over since DT closed.. but I dont think any have that date! If you need any help let us know!

Welcome to the forum and happy planning! There is a ton of great information on here!
  7. Good point. I guess the thing is although not "current" they could still give you a hard time - like anything really - so better to just have the letter. Abbie - I wonder if it made a difference because Doug is their natural parent - Whether or not they might be more stringent if neither of the birth parents were traveling with the child..
  8. In most cases you need a letter. Mexican law requires that if only one parent (or grandparent, or other guardian) is accompanying a minor under 18 into Mexico, they must bear a notarized letter from the child's other parent (or guardian) granting permission to enter Mexico with the child, including the dates of travel, the accompanying adult's name, contact information, and a notarized signature. Your stepdaughter will likely need a letter that is authorization from both her birth mother and father. We had a similar issue with a guest who is attending our wedding with her kids (their father is deceased). She was told to carry a copy of the death certificate...
  9. Yes! It was last November for FI's BF - Mayan Riviera Grand Sirenis! What an amazing week!
  10. Aweee thanks! We are getting super excited - hard to believe that we are less than 6 weeks away! Just working on the last few DIY projects - Welcome Books, Menu Cards etc. and the details of the day! I will post a planning thread in the next couple of weeks ladies! I promise! And of course a detailed review - since I know how helpful this forum has been for me in my planning! We will just miss you RobinHood! We don't arrive until the 23rd unfortunately -I am soo excited for your site visit - it's going to be awesome!
  11. Happy Turkey Day! Had dinner #1 last night and a second one tonight - working if off at the gym in between! Gobble Gobble!

    Welcome fellow Canadian and congrats!
  14. Sooo true! FI moved from Calgary to Toronto and I tease him all the time that it's a good thing I'm not a Leafs Fan or we'd have a major rivalry - I actually got a Calgary Flames Garter that I know he is going to flip when he sees. That being said he still loves it - he's going to the Leafs Thanksgiving game this afternoon!
  15. We will be staying in separate room (him with his brother and me with my sis). I want to have that anticipation of not seeing eachother for 12++ hours...
  16. There are tons of great templates on here! When I was creating mine - I ended up using a paper that was slightly too thick and because I was printing from home I had some issues. I would also suggest (although it's almost impossible) to try and make sure you have all your supplies before you start! A corner cutter is great (gives you the round edges) and a perforator (if you are looking to do a "rip off portion). Hmm.. what else. a hole punch, ribbon, envelopes (I made my own) - any type of decals etc. I would do a couple of test runs with regular paper first until you are completely happy ...
  17. Welcome to the forum and cograts!
  18. We sent our save the dates in February. Our STDs were formal, invite type ones so I didn't feel the need to send out a second batch of virtually the same thing and call them invites. We also asked ppl to let us know if they were/had booked outside of our group package (which worked out fine). We had 90% book directly with the TA within 6 months.
  19. Yeah FI is getting all geared up now that's 3 -1 - You'd think it was Stanley Cup Final! Mitchell and Iginla's fight got yelling so loud he woke the dog up!
  20. FI and I are watching the Canucks v. Flames game now too! FI was born and raised in Calgary and is an insame Flames fan - he's sitting here in his Iginla jersey screaming at the TV!
  21. I think it would look great. You could even have each girl walk up the aisle with one groomsmen on each side! I totally agree with you - I am not for picking ppl just to even up the sides..
