  4. My invites should be in by 4/11 and I will mail them out the day they come on. The maids are ordering their dresses this weekend and I've already got my dress. I already ahve my dress but must do the final alteration on it. Just working on a playlist for music and FI and I are going to wedding location in Punta Cana at the end of April to draw up a contract for the wedding and lock down the menu and any other loose ends before the big day. Am getting REALLy excited!
  5. old: earrings new: dress borrowed: mother's necklace blue: garter
  6. I STRONGLY recommend getting traveler's insurance. I get it everytime I go on vacation and my main example for this is one year we went to the Caribbean and got stranded for four more days there due to Hurricane Katrina. NOBODY was able to leave the island. You just never know. We were completely reimbursed, too.
  7. I thought this would be fun to do for just the DR brides. I will start: Erica & Jorge: July 5, 2008 - Iberostar Punta Cana
  8. Well I'm an Iberostar bride myself so you know what i'm going to say! Gran Bahia had some things I liked, too.
  9. ^^ Nope. Iberostar Punta Cana, but I was thinking about Eden for a little bit. It looks lovely, though!
  10. Lauren, your pictures are BEAUUUUUUUUUUTIFUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!! SO pretty! I love how the color pops in them and they aren't conventional weding pics !!! Lovely!
  11. Only people being invited to the wedding should be invited to the shower. It is considered rude to invite people to the shower if you're not extending an invitation to the actual wedding (and it makes sense).
  12. We're using the one provided by the resort but we're bringing our own playlist and probably our IPods
  13. Hey guys! My girlfriend just spent Easter weekend at Eden H with her boyfriend and his bro. These are pics she took while there. Giselle Casado's Photos - Semana Santa 08! | Facebook
  14. LOL. You're funny. I guess I never thought of it. I ordered mine Dec 1st and it came in last Wed. I picked it up three days ago, on Saturday. I wasn't anxious for it at all but I got really happy when they called to say it was in. When I put it on, I didnt want to take it off. Now I've got to find a seamstress for alterations. NOT fun! Just be patient!
  15. Omgosh I wish I could help you but I have NO clue. I hear it's pretty darn expensive, though. I jsut got my dress back and the back is really big/loose so I have to have it taken in! Am scared.
  16. I would stick within the range of the color now. Nada too drastic before the wedding. Offtopic: How long before the wedding should hair be dyed? I am wondering this myself!
  17. I get weirdos ALL the time. I work in the claims/arbitration dept of a home warranty company. I have to try to make sure the homeowners dont sue the builder and help out with that process when they DO want to. Well one guy was SO mad at how the builder built his house and wrote us this TWELVE page letter (TYPED) about how the builder ruined his life and his love life and blamed them for the disintegration of his relationship with his lady love. haha. He went on and on about how with each broken tile in his home, was like a piece of his heart breaking and that was the reason why his woman left him. It was soooooooooooo crazy!
  18. It all depends on the place. Some have it and some don't. Just like some will offer a guitar trio for the ceremony and others will just have a CD with music on it. All depends on the place. Good luck. I hope you get your horse & carriage!
  19. I really think that white and ivory would look very different together. And for some reason I thought 'diamond white' meant stark white, but who knows. I say go ivory with ivory. You could always wait til you see your dress to compare. Or try some on at the bridal store you ordered from. They will prob be able to match the color to a tee. Good luck.
  20. Offer what you feel comfortable. First, make sure you find a 'price range' that you guys feel comfy in. Obviously, don't offer them the full price they want. You've got to save $, too! They say to try to offer within $50k of the asking price. BUT it depends on things. Make your intial offer, do the home inspection and kind of go from there. If they counter-offer, depending on if you are comfy with it or not, counter-offer or not. Good luck. Buying a house can be stressful but SO rewarding!

We have a large group of about 150 guests so that is why we don't want to share our dinner with resort-goers. Plus we have a band and dj as well. Ask your WC. He/she should be able to give you more details.
  22. Have your wedding whenever YOU want. It's not your fault that he wants a DW, too, that he is being a whiner, that he's NOT even engaged yet and is between jobs. Sheesh. Homeboys sounds like a handful.
