What Fall TV Shows are you most excited about?
Jenn79 replied to Christine's topic in Chit Chat Corner!
I haven't gotten excited about the new TV season in so long, I almost forget what it feels like. I am looking forward to the Amazing Race, but aside from that, I'm happy watching my reruns of Law and Order SVU when I get the chance. I figure, the new ones will come on eventually right? -

I LOOOOVE the mochaccinos at Second Cup (I think they're only in Canada), but have to restrict myself to once or twice a month (stomach issues) For coffee at home, we buy either Starbuck's Breakfast Blend for the hubby, or a mild Columbian (Van Houtte is our fave brand)...the Breakfast Blend is a treat since it can get pricey.

it can be very pricey to get married there, but there are ways of doing it affordably as well. For my wedding I cruised to the island, cutting the cost of a hotel stay and food (which is where the money adds up). Try taking a look at the 9 Beaches resort, or talk to a few of the local planners to get an idea of how much things will cost.

I just think children are never too young to appreciate books. They get so many toys from all different angles, I promised myself I would be the "book giving auntie" whenever I had the chance. It's working so far!

What have I learned from planning a destination wedding?
Jenn79 replied to shellb's topic in Random Thoughts
-it brings out pettiness in people, particularly family -everyone has their own ideas of what you should do and forget it's not THEIR wedding -pictures are just as beautiful with a stormy sky as they are with bright sunshine -people don't think the same rules of consideration apply because it is not a "traditional" wedding -I wouldn't have done it any differently even with the hassles involved -
A friend of mine lost his ring on his HONEYMOON...I believe it is somewhere on the ocean floor near Maui, or else some fish got it... Hope your hubby finds his!

Which of these 3 songs is likely to get the crowd DANCING?
Jenn79 replied to Tracy's topic in Wedding Music & Entertainment
Totally B!!! All I have to do is think of that opening guitar riff and I want to start moving! -
Happy Birthday Abbie!! It's good to know I'm not the only DS addict! Have fun on your day off! And food should always be a running theme in a birthday, especially cake and pizza!

If she likes to read, definitely go for books...or even a gift card for a bookstore, that way she can pick out what she wants. If you want some ideas for books in her age group, here are a few that come to mind: Magic Treehouse (series, up to about 50 titles I believe) Disney Fairies (series, follows Tinkerbell and her fairy friends) Royal Diaries (series, fictional diaries from real life princesses through history) Pony Pals (series) Scholastic has also released easy to read editions of classic stories, like Anne of Green Gables, The Jungle Book, Alice in Wonderland, The Wizard of Oz...they are called Scholastic Junior Classics Anything by Raold Dahl is great (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, George and the Giant Peach, The Twits) Judy Blume is great too. Sorry, I seem to have gone off and written a novel about kids books!

We had attempted to plan our wedding so that the honeymoon would coincide with Star Wars Weekends at Disney's Hollywood Studios (yes, I am that much of a geek). In past years they had run from mid-May to mid-June, but the year of our wedding (and after we already had everything planned and paid for), they changed the schedule for the four weekends in June. Aside from my geek-factor, we also wanted a month that wouldn't be too hot, or too busy, and May was absolutely perfect.

Have a great wedding day, and a wonderful time in Mexico! All the best to you both!

Happy Wedding Day Rebecca (Becks) & Chris

Hope you have a great wedding! Much happiness to you both! -
I actually liked the McDonald's Pizza I know it wasn't gourmet by any means, but it was great to satisfy a craving. On the subject of DQ, they used to make this dessert called Chocolate Peanut Butter Crunch. It was made with hard chocolate ice cream, warm liquid peanut butter, chocolate sauce, whipped cream, cookie crumbs and a cherry. Yes, it does sound like a heart attack in ice cream form, but let me tell you, it was sooooooo good. They stopped making it about fifteen years (or more) ago, and man was I upset.

We did a cruise, so I'll answer the best I can: $1700 for seven nights, all inclusive, double occupancy, including one extra night at a hotel in Boston; no airfare, guests drove to Boston 12: number of invites sent (some were for couples) 19: number of guests attending Norwegian Majesty: name of cruiseship not sure how many starts the cruise has, but it was five star to me and my guests

My brother-in-law has been in "charge" of finding the Potato Heads for me, but I recently took a look at Amazon.com and found out there are four or five that I didn't even know existed! *sigh*

Star Wars Memorabilia...anything and everything to do with the Saga. I've had to refrain myself for the past four or five years, but my family have started turning my birthday and Christmas into an excuse to feed my addiction. I also have a thing for ladybugs, so I have a small collection of ladybug stuff. Books...I like owning the books I read. (and there are quite a few) Flip flop magnets from the places we visit...this is a new one. I picked one up at La Ronde (an amusement park in Montreal) a few summers ago, and without thinking about it, I picked one up in Bermuda last year. So it's become a thing for me now. I'm also big on Christmas ornaments...I probably have enough for two large trees, but I can't help myself!

I was lucky with my sister-in-law...they used my wedding as an excuse to start trying! And lo and behold, 9 months later, my nephew Jack was born. It's really a shame when people act so selfish towards something that really has nothing to do with them. Let her be pregnant, you have your amazing wedding.
