How is everyone transporting their wedding dress. I was told by other girls to try to ask the flight attendant to put it in the first class closet? Thoughts??

We haven't booked our flight yet either. Right now for non-stop from Chicago it's $516 - that seems so high. I'm trying to wait it out a little before I book to see if the prices come down at all - we'll see!

Ok, well I guess I'm not going to ship anything - if Chandlyn is not going to take responsibility and it's that expensive, I'll just have to ask some people to help us out. Good to know! I may have to re-think favors/oot bags too - no big deal!

If so, I definitely would like to sneek a peek at your wedding, if you don't mind. LIZZ - Yes, we need to find out how many per table. That would really screw up our place settings?

Hi Ladies, I am also using the resort photographer. I still need to contact him for an updated price list and then I'll just make sure that I make a list of some must take shots. I'm not really worried - plus like someone said, all of your guests are probably going to be taking pictures too. I have plenty of time for that. Cakes -I heard a few people say that the wedding cakes are not that great. I'm debating whether to upgrade to the large cake for $250? Is anyone doing this??

JMHEIN - I am getting married just a few days after you, 2.15.08. We are also getting married at the beach gazebo. I reserved the Plantation because I think we'll have over 50 & I'm doing the disco from 9-11. I really didn't pick a package yet - I thought I was going to get the Caprice just cuz it accomodates the ceremony set up up to 80 people. Do I have to confirm the package w/ Chandlyn before I get there?? I was hoping I could decide when we actually sit down so I could figure out what would be the cheapest. Also, I'm still confused on how many people at a table for the Plantation. Chandlyn told me 6 and other people on the post have said 8. One other thing, my rehearsal is at 6 on Thursday, (the night before). I was thinking we could all go to one of the buffets afterwards. I was going to have everybody come - sort of like a welcome dinner but I guess that won't work if I have too many people. Hhmmm... I'll have to figure that out. Otherwise, we could all just go to one of the bars to hang out. I'd hate to pay for a private thing when it is all inclusive and I'll have to pay per person for open bar during dinner the following night. Sorry so long - any suggestions??

Hello everyone, I'm new to this forum. I just read all of your great ideas - how fun. I'm getting married at the Riu on 2/15/08. I just ordered my dress from David's but that's about all I've done so far. I booked the Plantation cuz I think we are going to have 50+. I also booked the disco after so we could do some dancing. I'm getting married at the beach gazebo - I think it's so pretty. I received an e-mail from Chandlyn last week saying the tables at the plantation seat 6?? I seen other people said 8 - I wonder exactly what it is? I would like to know so when it gets closer I can do place cards. I love all of your idea's - so clever.
