  1. That's awesome that you got an earlier time Lizz!! I'm leaning towards the Plantation for 4 hours w/ the DJ. I e-mailed Chandlyn & she said it is available if I want to do that. Let me know what you decide...
  2. After I put the dress on she told me what needed to be done and the price. I could decide then if I wanted to go with David's or somewhere else. They were very nice. Make sure you bring your bra, shoes, & slip... They'll need this to alter it perfectly.
  3. I got my dress altered at David's. It is probably a little pricier but I did not feel like lugging my dress around and I didn't know of another recommended tailor. I know David's will do a good job too. I had to get my dress taken in, hemmed, & bustled, and is was $220.
  4. We booked a junior suite at ROR. I am definitely going to try to upgrade to the full jacuzzi suite!! We'll see...

  7. I just got an e-mail back from Chandlyn (only took 2 days) and yes the $10 per person is for all 4 hours and this includes mixed & blended drinks, & alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Also, the DJ is not included in the $1000 for the 4 hours at the plantatation. The DJ is 150 extra per hour. FYI.

  10. Wow... I can't believe they want all of the money up front. Maybe you can negotiate and pay for a certain # of people and tell her you'll have the entire head count a couple weeks before the wedding. I haven't paid anything to the Riu yet and I think I pay for everything at our meeting a couple days before the wedding.
  11. Does anyone have any pic's of the upstairs of the Plantation Restaurant? This is where they hold all of the wedding receptions and I really would like to have a better idea of the layout, etc...

We should arrive to the resort by 2pm, I hope, on the day of your wedding. I'd really love to watch the ceremony. Which location is it? I forgot to mention the dates I'll be in Jamaica - 2/12 - 2/20!!
  14. I'm going to talk to FI about just staying at the Plantation for 4 hours. I know it's a little more expensive but it would be nice. Do we know for sure if the DJ is extra or if the $1,000 includes him?

  16. Ooh, if the DJ is included in the Plantation price then I just may try to reserve it for all 4 hours?? We could always hit up the disco if people wanted to hang out later. I'll have to look into this...
  17. Very nice Heidi!! I don't think I'm going to be doing a travel booklet - it seems like so much work. I think I'm just going to mail out a timeline & welcome letter a couple weeks before.
  18. Right now I have the Plantation booked for dinner for 2 hours and then I booked the disco from 9-11. I know you can have a DJ in the plantation if you want - just let Chandlyn know. Lizz - I really like your idea of having the DJ for the 2 hours at dinner too?? Hmmm... I'll have to think about that. Also, I thought about increasing the Plantation to 4 hours and just having the DJ there the whole time. It's a little more expensive that way but it might be worth it. Too many decisions...
  19. It's usually about 1-2 weeks before she responds back to me. I also think she addresses the weddings that are closer than others. I don't think you'll have a problem reserving Mammee Bay for only 10-12 people but definitely let her know ASAP. Also, I believe you can have ocean view or pool view - FYI.
  20. Hope you have a wonderful wedding! Can't wait for pic's...
