  1. We did the pottery painting for one of my friend's and it was a blast. They let us bring liquor and food so it was fun. We did go to a bar afterwards. There is a place by me that does jewelry making and I have done that as well. The spa night could be a nice alternative. If you can all go somewhere or hire someone to come to the house and do mani/pedicures that could be fun, and then just have drinks at home or go out somewhere afterwards.
  2. I am a corporate recruiter for a market research company. I don't know what your background is, but if you use a search firm or headhunter you want to work with someone who specializes in your field. As someone else mentioned, applying directly to companies you are interested in working for are a good place to start or making contacts with someone from that company through Linked In. I'm not sure what salary range you are in, but theladders.com charges a fee but you will have access to companies with positions that pay $100K +. If you belong to any associations they sometimes have job boards with positions in your field. Niche job boards are usually better to look at than monster, careerbuilder, etc. We post our jobs to monster/careerbuilder, but also to quirks.com and cpgjoblist.com amongst others since those are sites that target people in our industry.
  3. to the forum. I am getting married at the Iberostar Paraiso Maya next November. Do you have everything planned?
  4. I voted for #2. I think it will look really pretty with the sweetheart neckline and the tulle. Both dresses were very pretty though so whichever one you pick will be nice!
  5. What about a yoga mat with one of those carriers or a yoga dvd? They have them at Target.
  6. Carly, check out Scott Kay. He has a Sparta collection, but not all the designs are on the website, but you can request a brochure from the website. My fiance picked out a band he liked from that collection, and they had it at Bailey, Banks and Biddle for $1100. Not sure how much you want to spend, but I thought I saw something similar to a tire tread design. I couldn't find it on the website though. This will take you to the men's rings. 7. I like the plam leaf one! For those of you who have had their weddings already, did you bring stuff to make the centerpieces or did the resort have stuff available (candles, vases, etc.)?
  8. I love all the costumes! I was just invited to a Halloween wedding, so now I need to check out al the sigs for some cosutme ideas!

I picked out about 6 dresses that I liked online, but once I went to the store I ended up in all different styles. I actually hated all the ones I initially picked out except for one that neither store had. You definitely need to try things on, and don't be afraid to try on what you think you won't like.

Carly, I ordered a sample message in a bottle invite from marketinginabottle.com and it cost $1.41. It is a 6" plastic bottle w/ 1/2" of sand, tiny shells and a paper umbrella. They cost $3.65 (I think) per bottle for the invite itself. I decided to go the DIY route since it was a lot cheaper. I wanted to do glass, but the postage would have been more expensive for those.
  11. Brittney, I'm so sorry to hear about your situation. Have you talked with your mom about this? If she is doing drugs again maybe you can convince her to get some help.

  13. Holy cow, Savannah - 4 kids! They are very cute, but I don't think I could handle it.
  14. I really like the glass bottles, great job! I just ordered the plastic bottles, sand and shells from that same site. I had too many to mail out and didn't want to pay an arm and a leg for the postage for the glass bottles.
  15. Susan, all your stuff looks great! Now go get married!
  16. We are not having one. I have a really large family and did not want to have a big wedding which is why we are going the DW route. We are also paying for everything on our own, and would rather put our money towards a house than a party at home. I know some others are having AHRs so I guess it is up to you if you want one and an affod to have one.
