  1. I am hoping that mine will not show through my dress... It is blue. But I feel like I HAVE to wear it. I had it especially made. My grandmother was VERY poor when she got married 60 years ago. She wore a blue gown and had a blue veil (can't imagine what people thought!). Because NONE of us would EVER wear that awful blue veil, I had garters made for each "branch" of the family tree. Now each bride can wear a part of Grandma's special day on theirs and it will be the "old" and/or the "blue". So..... I HAVE to wear it..... Hope it doesn't show!
  2. I am guessing that if people are sitting by people they know they will share. If you want less to have to get there and less work for your friend, I would go with 40. (none for the men -except that dads!)
  3. Welcome! Feel free to ask away ~ and this gives us ladies someone to ask for a male opinion. YEAH!
  4. You are such an inspiring DIY gal.... Makes me want to do more and more and more.... Your shoes looks great - just like all of the other stuff that I have seen that you've done! Great job!
  5. Congrats all! The photos were fun! Can someone PM and explain what the points are for..... : )
  6. You ladies seem to have TONS of great advice. I could use some.... My background is in childcare. (Early Childhood Ed degree, professional Nanny, Center Director for local center) But 5 years of my experience (for a child care company) was account mgmt - managing 3+ million in child care federal and state funds for our centers in Indiana. When I left there (due to husband's death) I took a job as a receptionist/HR Admin Asst to "get my foot in the door" at a different place. Well, they are going under and I was laid off after just 6 months. I am now on the hunt. I am having difficulty figuring out a good match. I do NOT want to go back to child care. The part I liked best there was the acct mgmt. However, with my Assoc degree in a childcare field and my resume showing only "childcare" and receptionist type stuff.... I am at a loss. I have tried to make it apparant that I have more than "taking care of kids" as my abilities. I understand that I am not going to get some job making 100K, but how do I find a good match that pays me enough to make ends meet?? I am looking for around 35K (what I was making at the child care company).... Any great help??
  7. I didn't win, but I got the free cards. My daughter's birthday is around the corner.... I may use them as "thank-yous" with a photo of her in her halloween costume since they are the same theme.... Thanks for the heads up. I didn't even have an account yet! : )
  8. Make sure to pack an overnight bag with all of your necessaties for a day or two. Don't wanna have to dig for shampoo or clean panties! Do what you can before the move: line the shelves/drawers in the kitchen, clean what needs done, take toilet paper, etc... Don't stress too much!
  9. Welcome! The ladies here are so wonderfully helpful! You will like it a lot! CONGRATS!
  10. Any chance the veil (1 tier) is still up for purchase? If so, please let me know! : ) Brandi
