  1. Thanks ladies. I am very lucky to be able to go on two site visits but FI is very nervous and wants to make sure that everything is taken care of in person. He went with me on the first site visit buy my maid of honor is coming with me on this one. FI isn't too excited about flowers, photography, transportation companies, etc! I wish you could all come with me.
  2. 1) What resort are you getting married at?We are getting married at the Fiesta Americana Condesa in Cancun 2) What made you decide those? We went down for a site visit and we loved the place. 3) When is your wedding? May 10, 2008 4) Did you have a hard time choosing too? Choosing the location was the hardest part for us. We were relieved once we finally decided.
  3. I am going to Cancun this weekend for a second site visit. My schedule is pretty packed with vendor meetings but I will be going to a local beer/wine/liquor store. If anyone wants me to check on prices I can do so. Also, if there is anything else that I can do, please let me know. I am not sure if I will have time but I can try.
  4. Welcome. I am also a May bride-to-be. Is that place the same as the Fairmont? Congrats and happy planning.
  5. My FI also wanted to rent a villa because privacy was really important to him but we didn't end up doing it. I think the main reason was that we are having about 100 people and we were worried about the logistics of it. However, during our search we found a great place call Sol y Luna Villa Sol y Luna. You should check it out if you decide you really do want to rent a villa.
  6. I have not been to Tulum so I can't comment there but I stayed at the OGX during a site visit in September. We liked the actual resort but we are definitely beach people and the man-made beach was a huge disappointment. If a beach is important than I would definitely not go there but if you don't care about a beach, it could be a great place.
  7. Although at first I thought I wanted white, I went with ivory because it looked best. The white was just too darn white for me.
  8. Congratulations on picking the location. That was by far the hardest decision we had to make so far. The rest will just fall into place. Happy planning.
  9. Welcome, Sorry to hear that you had to scratch your dream wedding in Bali but you can still plan a fabulous wedding some place else. Plus it will make it so much easier if it is just the two of you. Let us know how we can help. Good luck!
  10. I would like 5 each of IS00LG (light green), IS00FS (fuschia) and IS00IV (ivory) that is if they are avilable at the time of order. Thanks.
  11. Welcome. You have definitely come to the right place for information, especially about Mexico. Let us know what we can do to help.
  12. Welcome to the site and congrats on your upcoming wedding. There are lots of EDR brides on here that can help you out!
  13. It actually smells quite nice. I just put some on. For $1 you can't beat it and I like that they are small enough so that they don't take up too much space in your purse.
  14. Welcome. I don't think you can go wrong with either location. Enjoy the planning.
  15. Welcome! That is great that you are having your wedding on leap year!! Just don't forget to celebrate it on the non-leap years. :)
  16. Yes, that is my puppy. She is a toy poodle and turns 5 months old tomorrow. I am a bit biased but I really think she is the cutest thing in the world.
  17. Bath and Body Works introduced a new scent called Enchanted Orchid. They are selling the small hand lotions for $1 each. It might make a nice item to add to an OOT bag for the ladies.
  18. I second Mangu. That place was awesome but I don't remember paying the cover charge. We went with the "entertainment staff" from our Hotel (Carabella) so maybe they had an arrangement. We probably left at 3am and there were tons of people just arriving even though it was already packed inside. In fact, a soccer team from Barcelona was arriving as we were leaving. I would definitiely recommend the place. It is located in the Occidental Grand Punta Cana.
  19. I upgraded my parent's room. If this is possible and not too expensive for you, perhaps you could do the same.
  20. Wow. Italy!!! That sounds fantastic. I have never been but it is on the top of my list of places to see. Welcome and congrats!!
  21. Welcome! There are so many wonderful Cabo brides and brides to be on here so ask away.
  22. Hello and welcome to the forum. Picking the location was the hardest part of the destination wedding process for me. You have definitely come to the right place for ideas/suggestions/comments/help/etc. Please let us know a little bit more about what you envision (i.e. number of guests, church vs beach ceremony, Caribbean vs. Mexico vs. somewhere else, where your guests will be traveling from, etc.) so that we can help!

I will definitely check out Helzberg Diamonds. Thanks for the suggestions.
  24. Everything was gorgeous!!! Great job!! On picture 38, where did you get that "lantern" centerpiece that has the glass globes with candles in it? I think it is very unique.
  25. I have a 3 stone e-ring and I have been trying to find a wedding band that compliments it. I am having trouble since the middle stone sticks out on either side and all the rings I have tried on do not sit flush against it and it looks weird. Did anyone else have this problem and if so what did you end up buying? Can anyone recommend a custom jeweler in the DC/VA/MD area? Perhaps I should just have one made although I am down to the 4 month mark.
