  1. Welcome to our world. Your post was too funny. How many people are you expecting for your wedding? Do you prefer an all-inclusive mega resort or a smaller place?
  2. We were also charged a foreign exchange fee when we put down a large deposit for our wedding using American Express. But we contacted the resort and told them to rebill it in US dollars (instead of converting it). They did and we were reimbursed for the fee.
  3. I do not like milk but I LOVE cereal. Go figure. I only buy organic fat free milk but it is mainly because the organic lasts so much longer than regular milk. I used to buy regular fat free milk but I was always so worried about it spoiling so I usually threw it out days before the expiration date because I am funny like that. I now have no problems with the organic milk! I still won't drink any milk straight though.
  4. Eating breakfast is what gets me out of bed in the morning. Every day I have a bowl of Smart Start. After all this time, I am surprised I haven't gotten sick of it. I have one cabinet that is usually full of boxes of Smart Start. I freak out when I get down to two boxes (like they are going to run out of it everywhere)!!

Thanks for the links. Also the little frog things are cute. I actually may used a stuffed animal that looks like my puppy and tie the rings to it. Thanks so much!!

I already read through those but I don't want anything beach related.
  7. Do any of you have an alternative idea to the ring bearer pillow? I will be having two ring bearers but no flower girl. The ceremony will be in a church and although I have found a lot of cute beach related options (i.e. shell), I do not want anything that has to do with a beach wedding. I am having a traditional wedding (with a few twists) but just not in a traditional setting. I may just have them carry a flower with the rings attached but any ideas or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks.
  8. Welcome and congrats. The Caribbean is beautiful so I don't think you can go wrong picking any of the islands. There is lots of helpful information on this forum. Good luck narrowing down your choices!
  9. Welcome. I am using AA miles to fly to Argentina for my honeymoon and it only cost 40,000!! Gotta love those miles.
  10. I agree with the other ladies as to the spur of the moment but you could offer to go dress shopping to find a dress for her. Turn the tables!!
  11. Ann, When I try to use the search feature, the screen always comes up blank. Do you know why this happens? Thanks, Melissa
  12. Hi Carly, I made my payment yesterday afternoon but I didn't see it on the paid list. Please confirm when you get a chance. Many thanks, Melissa
  13. We are probably just hosting one at our resort. We may do a simple buffet style setup on the beach. At which hotel are you getting married?
  14. Welcome. Your guests could stay at the Gran Porto Real Official Web Site - Gran Porto Real Playa del Carmen Hotel, Playa del Carmen and then have your reception at The Blue Parrot.
  15. This show is hysterical. FI and I recently added it to our already long list of tivo recordings. I love it!!

Congrats and welcome. You will be able to narrow down your choices in no time with all the wonderful information on here. Good luck!
  17. Congrats and welcome. We are getting married on the same day but my wedding is in Cancun. Good luck. I know the 4 months will be here before we know it.
  18. My Cancun wedding isn't until May 10 but I am also doing a corkage fee. I am purchasing all the liquor from La Europea LA EUROPEA They have everything that you would need and the prices are good. Although we are just guessing on the amount to buy, we are planning on buying 30 bottles and we are expecting about 100 people.

Thanks so very much. I feel so much better now because I really loved that veil but I just didn't want to spend that much money.

I thought I got a great deal on my dress and the veil and alterations are going to end up costing just as much if not more than my dress!

I found 2 on there that may work and the price is definitely much better than $320. When your veil arrives, please let me know your thoughts on the quality, color, etc. Many thanks!!!
  22. Welcome Sarah. You have come to the right place for ideas and inspiration! Good luck with your planning.
  23. Welcome to the forum. Do you have a wedding date set yet?
  24. ...and the alterations were $220. I had the top taken in and a bustle done. Does that seem reasonable for those types of alterations? I was completely clueless about the bustle and I felt a little pressured to make a decision but hopefully it will all turn out alright. Now the veil was another story. It is going to cost $320. That seems ridiculous so do you lovely ladies (and gents) have any good recommendations for a place to buy a veil? Or is this the going rate for veils?
