  1. Welcome to the forum. Everything may seem overwhelming now but you will get it done one thing at a time, especially with all the help of this wonderful forum. Just remember to have fun in the process and don't settle on anything less than what the two of you want!

    Hello!

Welcome and congrats on your engagement. The Riviera Maya is a beautiful location. Let us know how we can help.
  3. I am also a May Mexico bride. We don't have much longer!! Welcome and congrats.
  4. Welcome to the forum. This place is the best place for destination wedding information. Good luck with your planning and your family will get used to it. Don't worry.
  5. Congrats and welcome. PDC is a great area. Have you picked a location yet?

    Newbie!

Welcome Sarah. How many people are you expecting? Do you prefer all-inclusive? Give us some details of what you envision and we can offer up some suggestions.
  7. Welcome Joleen. You are definitely in the right place. Good luck with your planning.
  8. Welcome to the forum Jenna. Picking the location was the most difficult part for me. There are just so many wonderful options. Perhaps you can start narrowing down the places by deciding on a coast (Cabo and Puerto Vallarta or Tulum and Cancun). I am getting married in Cancun in May. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.
  9. My bridesmaid is also wearing a fuschia dress and she will be carrying a bouquet of mostly light green orchids, white lilies, white cala lilies and a few fuschia roses.
  10. We really wanted to do both a legal and religious ceremony in Mexico but it became such a hassle. It would have been paperwork laden and more expensive so we just decided to do the legal ceremony here in the States before we leave and then the religious one in Mexico. That is the one that will matter to us anyway! But it is a personal preference in what you decide to do!
  11. Welcome to the forum. You have some time to research but not too much because the time goes by fast. Good luck!!
  12. Welcome and congrats. There are many Dreams Tulum brides on here to help you out. I am just not one of them.
  13. Welcome. My cousin got married at the Venetian and it was lovely!

I checked on the little tequila bottles at La Europea and they ranged from 15 pesos up to 45 pesos per bottle. I don't remember seeing Corona in the store so I forgot to check on the price but I asked my wedding coordinator and she said it was about 70 pesos for a 6 pack.
  15. I am also a Cancun bride. Welcome and congrats!

I think we're just going to do it at our house. Thanks ladies for the suggestions. I will check it out now.
  17. Welcome to the forum. I am also a May bride to be. It will be here before we know it but you are in the right place to get all your planning done.
  18. I am also doing corkage fee because it was a considerable cost savings for us as well. For open bar it was going to cost us (NOT including tax and service charge) $20 per person per hour. We are expecting about 100 people. That is $10K in just alcohol (using 5 hours). When I first met with the wedding coordinator she didn't mention the corkage fee until I asked about it. She said that they don't usually offer it as an option because this is the area where they can make a lot of money. I'd say!!
  19. I have been to all 3 places and St John was by far my favorite. The others are great but I think they are all different. What kind of place are you looking for? Quite beautiful beaches (St John) or old world meets new world (PR)?
  20. Welcome and congrats. You are in the right place to help narrow down your choices but St John is beautiful! Good luck.

Hotel Rooms, Rates & Reservations at Drury Hotels Thanks for the suggestion. I have never been to a Drury Inn but I will keep it in mind for future travel. We actually won't need any rooms since everyone lives in Columbus. My mom wants to have an at home reception for us for all the people in Ohio that aren't coming to our wedding in Mexico. I just don't want her to spend a lot of money.
  22. Does anyone have a recommendation for an inexpensive and unique location for an AHR in Columbus, Ohio? It will be in August and I would be expecting about 50 people. Many thanks!!
  23. I just got back from a site visit and we looked at La Europea LA EUROPEA for alcohol. The prices seemed reasonable but I didn't inquire about additional discounts if buying in bulk. I also didn't look at the prices of champagne. But there is also a Costco there that I believe carries alcohol too. For the OOT stuff, you can just go to the market in town and find all kinds of goodies.
