Ladies, I purchased the wrong size bags for my OOT! I wanted them small, but they are too small. They measure 8x8x4. They were $.69/a bag on cheaptotes.com, but shipping was $11.99 (ouch!). I am selling them all 24 of them for $20 (this includes shipping). This would be good for kids OOT or if you are going to put first aid kits, notepads, itineraries, candy etc. PM me! -Latoya

OOT bags,... too much?
leharris5 replied to pyxystyx's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
My FI and I want to do OOT bags as well, but didn't want to go overboard with a million items. We have about 50 guests attending so we decided to go with: 1. custom t-shirts (we will either get them done professionally or iron our logo on them ourselves) for the men; 2. half sarongs for the women; 3. custom water bottles (with our logo); our WC will supply the water bottles 4. welcome letter w/ itinerary; 5. a custom music CD with love songs We are using inexpensive brown gift bags w the straw handles, slap on a nice logo sticker. One bag per couple, one bag for singles. Which will equal out to about 35 bags in total. We will put them together once we get to Jamaica. Don't make these OOT a headache or a pain, and don't go crazy with millions of items. Make it easy, make it simple; your guests will appreciate it regardless whether it's full of aspirin, mugs, sunscreen OR just a simple letter saying, "Welcome to ________! We appreciate you and thank you for coming". -
Ladies, It it almost time for me to send out my invitations. I dread the idea of handwriting them out, though i know it may be necessary. Personally, i don't feel it is tacky to use a clear label, but now, I am second guessing myself. I was thinking about doing one of the three: 1. using clear labels with a nice font, 2. laser printing the addresses directly on the envelopes 3. Hand writing them myself or getting a professional calligrapher Any other suggestions for the envelopes?

Hi ladies! For my wedding, I figured it is a no brainer to hire a DJ and a reggae band. I recently got in contact with a DJ recommended by my WC. The DJ sent me a 'music list', and my stomach turned when i saw the selection. Though he stated that he is always updating the music list, it still made me feel very unsure about how good he really is and 'how to keep the party going and keep all my guests on the dance floor'. I don't want a DJ that just play the songs, I want a DJ that can mix the music up, transistion songs smoothly, know when to play the full song or just play a snipit of one, etc... My fiance and I are New Yorkers and we are very particular about not only the type of music that we listen too, but also picky about the DJs in the clubs we go to. I somewhat don't like the idea of bringing an IPOD of my music, because I figured it would seem weird (not sure if that is word i am looking for). I am tempted to either skip the reggae band and just hire a DJ from NYC to come down and do my wedding... but I have no clue to how he would be able to bring his equipment (Ugh!!). Oh, I am getting an ulcer! Can any recent Negril brides recommend the DJ they used? Any other suggestions?

wow ladies, great ideas, keep them coming! I think I am like some of you; you ask these women to be apart of your wedding, though most of the time, the BM pays for their own dress, plane ticket, hotel stay, gifts and do BM duties! It makes brides feel as though we have to overload them with gifts. If I didn't have six girls, I love have loved to spend more on them. Particularly, Tiffany's has their sterling silver stud earrings for $90. If I didn't have six girls, that would definitely be a BM gift! -
I have five BMs and one MOH and I have no clue as to what to give my BMs as a gift. So far I am giving them their accessories for the wedding and a monogrammed beach bag, maybe a sarong and maybe a massage at the spa, but I can't think of anything else that would not break the bank, but also not so cheap either. My MOH surprise gift is for her and her husband; i will have it set up for them to renew their vows (they will married 10yrs this year) at a different resort that weekend. What is everyone getting their BMs?

this is the BM & MOH dress: Jasmine Bridal the BM will be in 'bahama breeze' blue; the MOH will be in 'tangerine''; Amy706, if you want combine different tropical, bright colors, go for it. Any tropical combo will look beautiful!
-
my colors are light aqua and tangerine. the BM will wear light aqua dresses, my MOH will wear a tangerine dress.. Didn't think twice about those colors before I started to plan, but since my wedding is in Jamaica and very tropical, I thought that was a great combo.

Since my wedding is also in Negril, I will keep you posted as to what i find and i let you know. I am in the same situation like you in trying to find a welcome dinner location. If you want Kuyaba all to yourself, then to reserve the entire restaurant is $2500 and including food. The menu ranges from $7-8 for appetizers/salads, $14 - $22 for main course and $7 for desserts. Most alcoholic beverages are about $5 each. I wanted Kuyaba, b/c they can provide a bonfire, but in order to do that, I must reserve the entire restaurant. I heard Norma's was nice. I will keep you posted!

Ladies, I have contacted the events coordinator at Kuyaba, Leonie, and she sent me the menus (if you want to see them let me know). I wanted to find a spot to do a private bonfire and she said I could, but only if I reserved the entire restaurant which is $2500 not including food! So, I am going to ask dear-ol' mom to see if she wants to host the welcome dinner! If not, I am considering either renting a private villa for one night and bring in caterers or do a 'welcome cocktail hour reception' with just drinks and appetizers somewhere. PhillyGal: I have alwayas wanted to vacation at the Rockhouse from reading reviews over the years, so when I got engaged in June of this year, that was the first place I called! They only do 20 weddings a year, and they only had 2 slots left for 2008 which both are were in September! I didn't care if it was during hurricane season, I grabbed Sept. 20! So we blocked the rooms of the entire hotel (they have 35 rooms). I am very excited! Leigh: I think I will check out Pirates Cave and I heard Normas was good. Let me know what your bride comes back with. THANKS LADIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am looking to do a pre-wedding dinner for my guests and need a nice private location that can accommodate up to 60 people. I would love to have a bonfire along with the dinner. My wedding is at The Rockhouse Hotel (not an AI) so any sugguestions (resturants, villas, etc.) is great appreciated! Help! Thanks!

(as of today) I will be walking down the aisle to "Kissing You" by Desiree from the Romeo and Juliet soundtrack As a surprise for my FI, i will be singing "If I Ain't Got You" by Alicia Keys during the reception If you are having a hard time deciding, go with an instrumental version of a song you like. Something that has a great emotional melody...

Hey ladies, I am looking to have a welcome reception (either full dinner or cocktails, depending on the price). I am looking for something very budget friendly, a location with a great view and atmosphere and that maybe could provide or already has music/musicians. I am expecting up to 50 guests. I am thinking of even doing a sunset dinner/cocktail cruise, bonfire dinner, or restaurant location. Any ideas? I dont' want to go over $2500 (including alcohol)! -Toya

I am expecting up to 50 guests, my budget cannot exceed $15,000 for the DW. We are also planning two receptions: one in NYC, for mostly his family and friends and one in Dallas, Texas were I was born and raised (I have another budget for the receptions). We don't necessarily have to do it at an AI, but I would like my guests to have the AI options available and near to whatever ceremony/reception site we choose. A church in Cabo sounds like a good idea, Kiki! As long as at least one part of my wedding day is near water, maybe the reception.
