Inunez, i honestly have NO clue to who that was that did my hair/make up (same woman did both). Inise, my coordinator hooked it up for me. I didn't have a trial run or anything. I just showed her pics of the look i wanted. If it didn't look right, i was going to do it myself. I ended up doing my own hair & make up for the next day shoot. If you email Inise ([email protected]) and ask her who did Latoya's hair/makeup (wedding Sept 20, 200 then she will be happy to tell you. hope this helps.

Latrice, we took TTD session the day after the wedding at 9AM in the morning! The photograhers said the water is much blue-er early in the day. the photograhers took us literally to the side of a road by a beach. Other parts of the shoot was at the hotel and in the town right outside the hotel. It was suppose to be a 2-hour shoot, it ended up being 4 hours! we had so much fun!

Hi Carla - The Rockhouse did my cake. I sent them a pic of what i wanted and they did a great job putting it all together; it looked really good --- even though the cake as far a taste wasn't all that great... Nikki - My husband picked up his tie at Macy's in Manhattan. I am not sure of the brand though. This would be a good time to look now b/c of the spring colors/accessories are out in the stores now.

leobunny, Well is looks as though they have changed their requirements for 2009! They definitely beefed up their stipulations! The deposit is usually 50% of the total bill (taking your 'expected guest count, times the per plate charge, and taxes). That was what I had to do. I had my reception at the restaurant and the set up there, to me, is way better than poolside (the set up poolside is too spread out). So if you can meet the room requirements and can afford the minimum event (food) cost, it is definitely worth it. My husband and I are going back next year with our guests to have an anniversary party.

Carla, Once you set the date, put down the deposit, you and your guest can start reserving rooms. Just don't do anything until the coordinator gives you the go ahead and that's usually AFTER the get the deposit~

Thank you all ladies for your comments. I tell my husband all the time that I want to have the same exact wedding all over again!!! It wasn't necessarily the wedding of my dreams, but it was definitely a dream wedding!

The Rockhouse is a boutique hotel and it is not an AI. The prices there (restaurant, pool side food, etc) was pretty reasonable. Breakfast and lunch was like $10-15, dinner $25; but there are so many GOOD mom/pop restaurants (one next door to the Rockhouse called "Sip N Bit".. was SOOOO good and cheap - $5 meals). The only i would suggest is to bring your own bottled waters (water is high, like $2) and midnight snacks for the room. As for the costs, the per plate cost was $76 (we had 50 people) and the beverages and alcohol was by consumption. Not many people at my wedding drinks alcohol, so our beverage bill was under $1000 (this included water and juices). The you have to include the taxes (8.25% & 10% service charge). But i heard that the rockhouse has up'd their pricing and minimum requirements to host a wedding there, so you would need to contact them. I hope this helps! I gave him a master list of over 300 songs, I also broken down the specific song i wanted played at certain times at the reception (ie, during the cake cutting; food serving, etc). thanks CherBear, for you kind words. If you ask anyone who knows me, they will tell you that i had to be a comedian in a former life, but my hubby says i am the biggest cornball! The entire wedding weekend was magical and by the end of the wedding night, everyone was family. I truly believe god was in the place.

Thanks ladies, i appreciate the comments! Some have inquired about the Rockhouse Hotel and from what I have heard, one, they are booked up already for 2009 (they only do 20 weddings a year) and also they changed their requirements: from what i heard, you must now book the entire hotel (reserve all 35 rooms) and have a minimum of $8000 in food/beverages. Again, this is what i heard. The photographers said we opened up the flood gates for their business and now they are turning dates down due to over booking. Paula said from our slideshow, they have had the most inquires and hits on their site since the existance of their website! Our wedding will be featured on theknot.com; not sure of the date though --- i will forward a link when it is online! When i decided to stop being lazy, i will upload some more pics. There were so many more crazy poses and unique details from the wedding that the slide show didn't show.

Thanks ladies The music for the slideshow is the song Ribbon in the Sky by Stevie Wonder. Ironically, that was the song that my husband, his best man and the officiant walked out to, to begin the ceremony.... and the rainbow was blazing. We had a blast during the TTD shoot. We definitely got into it!

My husband and I were married on Saturday, September 20 at the beautiful Rockhouse Hotel in Negril, Jamaica. HOTEL: The Rockhouse Hotel, Negril Jamaica: A++ WOW, HEAVEN, AMAZING are the words to describe it. Very rustic, so if you are looking for a 5 star resort with bells and whistles, then this is NOT for you. If you are looking for the natural beauty and scenery of Jamaica, the simplistic-ness of what Jamaica is about, then you will love it here. It has only 35 rooms and we reserved 20 of them. The staff knew us by name, we were catered to hand and foot. The night before the wedding, I realized that i didn't print out all of the guest placecards, so they let me into their office and print them out (thank God I had the templates on a UBS card and cardstock with me). Also, I have some guests that got to the hotel after 11PM and they were starving; the kitchen was closed for the night and venturing out that late in the town was not recommended. The manager found out, and said, 'No worries" and opened up the kitchen just for our guests. Wedding Coordinator: Inise Lawrence: A+ ALL of my coorespondences were done via email... I didn't know her voice until we arrive to Jamaica. Everything was "no problem, or no worries, mon". and with her, there wasn't. She was quick to respond to all of my emails, she gave me ideas that i didn't think to add and she was fun. When we arrived, she was there, and she took all my stuff that we brought and took care of everything. The day of the wedding, I didn't have to worry about anything, she and my husband handled all the hiccups and mishaps. I didn't find out about any of issues (though they were very petty) until after we got back! It was my day and Inise and the staff made sure of that. Ceremony: A+++++++++++ It was on a rock cliff, at sunset, we had dolphins swim by, and we even had a rainbow. I guess God wanted to put his touches in it… I couldn’t ask for anything more. Reception: A+ We originally was suppose to have our reception outside poolside, but while I was getting ready, my coordinator said there was a chance of rain. The restaurant deck was my plan B and plan B was just as wonderful as plan A (poolside). Though I didn’t rain (just a few drops before the wedding began); it wasn’t a issue, I quickly chose plan B (at the restaurant) and kept getting ready… The food was overflowing as well as the drinks. Everthing was perfect! The DJ, the food,… Well the cake was beautiful, but it was awful! It was dry and hard as a rock, but I didn’t care and neither did the guests, because I don’t think anyone ate it! Photography: A++++++ Sun Gold Photography Paula and Damian (married) made the TTD session a blast. They definitely encouraged us not to pose, but to just enjoy and love each other… and that is what they shot. We wanted a photojournalist not a traditional shoot during and after the ceremony. They are based in Jamaica and I couldn’t have asked for better photos. We spent a little more on the pictures, because after all, that is all you have left when the wedding is over.
