  1. Congrats! Now you are going to be hooked and play all the time!
  2. I need help! I am working with a TA who is terrible at booking our trip. I decided to contact another TA for advice and prices (who responded A LOT faster). I have approx 75 people attending the wedding. The majority of them are flying from Pittsburgh, PA - I cant find decent prices for flights! What did everyone else do? We contacted most airlines directly and they increase the flight price over 100% b/c its a "group booking". Am I going about this the wrong way? I was trying to get the resort & flight at the same time & have the guests book everything at once - should they book air & hotel separately? I'm a nervous wreck b/c the wedding is June 2008 and I dont have anything booked! I'm way over the price range that i told all of the guests we would be in b/c of the ridiculous flight prices! Opinions and suggestions on what everyone else did would be great!

Yes, we are using a TA - I am looking to replace her b.c she's not doing a great job. The flights are the worst part of booking the trip. No airlines offer a group discount. I'm stressing about this right now! We dont have any rooms booked yet and I feel like we should.

    Barcelo Bride

I am also a June 2008 Barcelo bride! Our wedding date is June 27, 2008. We are staying at the Palace and getting married at the on site chapel. We have approx 70 guests attending. We were there in September, we thought it was a great place. We can compare notes if you want. Are you using their photographer
  5. I thought about this as well and I came to the conclusion that we are the ones doing all of the research & driving ourselves crazy to make everyone happy and we're not thinking of ourselves. If anyone wants to deviate from the set wedding plans let them, but they have to pay for the day pass. I am not telling our guests that they have an option of chosing another resort. If they dont like the resort that we / TA planned, then they are on their own. My opinion - the whole point is to spend time together before/after the wedding and everyone to have a great time together. We can't please everyone. If we could, the rooms would be free. They also have to realize that they have to pay for a taxi to get to/from the wedding. I dont know what time your reception is going to be over, but I'm sure its going to be late and do you want guests traveling back to their hotel alone in a foreign country?? The price they pay for the day pass and the taxi might be more than booking your resort!
  6. I am having the hardest time picking a site. I cannot wait until i can move on with the rest of the decision making. I also wanted to have the ceremony at on off site catholic church in RM. How many people are going to the wedding and how did you coordinate the transportation to & from the church?? I am trying to figure out how much that would cost me. I have approx 60 people to get to the church. My other concern is that the resort will not allow me to have a large reception if the actual wedding service was not held there. Was that an issue for you? I know most wedding packages state "cannot alter package in any way". The wedding service is usually always part of the wedding package. Any suggestions/advise would be great.
  7. Help! I am interested in booking the Grand Sunset Princess set to open December 2007- I'm planning June 2008 wedding but the wedding coordinators/reservation people at the resort take forever to respond to emails. They provided vague info and a wedding package sheet but have not told us about the wedding location, reception dinner options, the actual wedding service etc... Does anyone know anything about this resort? What bits & pieces that i can find online seem great, but i feel like i'm taking a huge risk booking this resort
  8. Congrats! My wedding is 9 months away and i still dont have my resort finalized! (we have 3 in mind) Good Luck with the planning
  9. Welcome! Good Luck with the planning.
  10. This might be a stupid question, but, are you having a bridal shower registry and a honeymoon registry?? Or is the honeymoon registry covering the shower?
  11. Cute dress & I like the colors. Honest opinoin - I dont think it looks like a "mother of the bride" the day of the wedding type of dress. Can she wear it another night when everyone gets together for dinner or drinks?
  12. I agree with Foxytv. I think you should try them on in person. The material might be too heavy, it might bunch in the wrong places, you wont be able to see the detail of the beading etc. Unless you find soemthing you love in the store & then order it from the web.
  13. I had the same questions and I got some answers from the WC. I will have a lot of people at my reception as well. They will block off in area in one of the a la carte restaurants (no charge) OR you can have it outside near one of the pools for additional charge per person. If it rains, they will put everyone in a conf. room (if there's availibilty). Here's some of the options for the outside dinner: Gala dinner: 6 starters, 2 soups, 6 main dishes (with seafood), dessert 72 US$/pers BBQ dinner: 5 starters, 5 main dishes, dessert buffet 46 US$/pers Mexican night: 5 starters, 5 main dishes, dessert buffet 46 US$/pers Caribbean night: 5 starters, 5 main dishes, dessert buffet 48 US$/pers Lobster Dinner/ Special Luxury Menu At a specialty restaurant 60 US$/pers At a location out of the restaurants 100US$/pers I can provide more info if you need it. The WC emailed me whats on the menu with the Gala, BBQ dinner etc.. I think i am going to have the dinner in an a la carte restaurant b/c of wind, bugs etc.. The WC said since we have so many people that we have one set menu- I said that's impossible b/c not everyone wants the same entree and that's just ridiculous. She said i woul have to provide a list a head of time, 10 want chicken 10 want steak etc... You can do the same thing. I am going to the resort next weekend for a site inspection and to meet with the WC. i can post more when i get back.
  14. Congrats! Have a great time! Great taste on the dress, shoes etc..

  20. I was wondering about how many people could fit at the Gazebo too. I have approx 50 people going. The Gazebo is on concrete which is on the beach. So, with that many people, it seems like some would get there seats on the concrete & others on the sand. Every pic i've seen has approx 20 people there - they are all on the concrete, but you can see that some seats are near the sand. Does anyone have a pic of the Gazebo with a large group of of people?

  23. It depends on your skin tone. I got white b/c i tan easily and my wedding is in the middle of the summer. My opinion & what the sales people working at the dress shops told me - white dresses look better with darker skin tones. Lighter skin tones should stick with Ivory.
  24. I want to send out the wedding itinerary to guests on cute beach theme paper - Any good websites for this?
