If April is evicted, I'm really curious to see how much Julie Chen will reveal to her about what America knows about her. She thinks America loves her and thinks she's a nice person. She also doesn't seem to have a clue that everyone has watched her sex Ollie up all season. I think she will be mortified!

Sandals question...

Did anyone have guests that shared a room with the same sex and have to make any special accommodations for it? It really won't be a problem at all. My sister and aunt shared a room with no issues, and I had several friends who shared rooms together (girl/girl AND guy/guy.) When you submit your guest list to the resort (that indicates who's in which room), there won't be a problem with this at all. Go ahead and check with Reservations for confirmation though. It's really won't be an issue. (PS - Congrat on losing the 10lbs!!) -
I thought it was hysterical during the food competition when Ollie gives Janelle a standing ovation during the introductions. April looked clearly pissed off. That cracked me up! (The Showtime show indicated that thier relationship has been strained this week.) Yah, all the fighting is a bit much. They seem to spend way more time venting and scheming over who did what when than I can recall from other seasons.

My dress experience is a little opposite. I bought my dress under duress and only LIKED it. There was never a time when I LOVED the dress. I kept looking for a dress that envoked the "this is it" feeling, but never had it. I finally fell in love with the dress at my final fitting and on my wedding day, I felt like the most beautiful bride. My FI couldn't stop raving about how beautiful I was and how he loved the dress. The end result (loving the dress and feeling beautiful) is NOT what I expected when I spent 8 months with ambivalent feelings about it.

And if my weight loss is successful, maybe a little more. I want to pay no more than an additional $200. Has anyone had alterations done at David's? I bought my dress at Davids ($349) and had alterations done for $85. This was to take the dress in on the sides ($50) and for the bustle ($35). I think you should be ok to stay under $200.

I hope you had the most special wedding today. Sending positive vibes and best wishes your way! Congratulations!!!

None of them actually saw the banner and a few people made up the fake banner saying to trick everyone else in the house. (There was no lying...) How BB likes to keep the drama rolling along! LOL!!

He could stay there alone. I had two guests who had single rooms. You could also have him stay at the Beaches resort as it would be more affordable for a single room. He would just have to catch cabs back and forth to your resort (since for some reason, there are no shuttles between the two resorts even though they are sister resorts.) Oh, and I should mention that my guests who stayed alone originally had a roommate that didn't show up, so they stayed in the room alone. Let me know if you have any other questions and I'll try my best to help!

We used Lee's Tours to transport our 40 guests from the ceremony (at SGOR resort) to the reception (Evita's Restaurant) and this also included private transportation for us (B&G), and they were at our beck & call all for $260. We also planned a separate excursion for our guests to tour Ocho Rios, visit Dunn's River Falls and shopping tour for $30 pp.

Jamaica and Alternative Lifestyles

I don't think there will be any problems either. It seemed that almost the entire entertainment staff at Sandals Grande Ocho was gay and there were no issues at all (and they were locals). -

I really like the garden gazebo area--I'm just wondering with getting married at noon if it would be too hot to have the reception there (we were thinking most likely the Reef Terrace for the wedding). It would make for some beautiful photo backdrops though, so maybe everyone will just have to suffer LOL! They should have a CD player for you. I got married at the Reef Terrace and we used one for our ceremony. I'm sure they'll let you use it for your reception as well. Quote: Originally Posted by Melissa G I love the reef terrace too. So she said we could probably not have it there. Also, I think it may still be hot outside!! We will want some AC! I got married at the Reef Terrace and it was beautiful. If you want a reception option with AC, you should consider having it at San Genarro's. The backdrop with the ocean is stunning and it is a fully enclosed private area with AC. -

Question for fellow black brides Re: hair plans

I did a sewn in weave too. It worked out perfectly for me. I wanted wedding hair, but I also wanted great "vacation" hair. If it weren't my wedding, I would have gotten braids, but I didn't want to wear braids for my wedding. Just make sure that whoever does the weave can braid your hair small and tight--that way it won't be lumpy and will look more realistic. I was undecided about my hair until 2 days before I left. I lucked up in finding a stylist who was fabulous at sewing in weave! (I used human hair, deep body wave that would wave up when wet.) -

Rehearsal Dinner Etiquette
IrieBride08 replied to LadyCheese's topic in Wedding Etiquette, Traditions, to dos
I had 40 guests and invited them all to the Rehearsal Dinner. I didn't have a large wedding party (just one MH and BM) so I opened the dinner to everyone. It was more like a private reception with special menu, bartenders, etc. (Oh, our dinner was also free, so I didn't have to consider the numbers...) -

OMG, I love this show too! I think I'm going to apply too! (I'll PM you Starchild!) -
I really wanted a Steel Band too, but couldn't bring myself to pay the $600 fee. The wedding only lasts 20 minutes and they wouldn't allow me to have them for a half hour instead. While I think the price is high, I think you should splurge if you think it's worth it. I never saw anyone use one during the 12 days I was at SGOR. I did hear the trio though and thought they were really good. How much do they charge for the trio? I think it may be less...
