Enjoy yourself and take tons of pictures!
  2. So scary!!! Even scarier because it seems like at least 2 or 3 brides on this forum have reported room thefts during their destinations weddings too. I hope this isn't some kind of sick new trend!!
  3. to the forum and congrats on your engagement! I chose Sandals Grande Ocho Rios because it is affordable for my guests, an AI that includes several activities that I thought my guests would enjoy, and would allow me to host wedding events without breaking the bank. I'm anticipating about 50+ guests, and having an adult only wedding. Happy to help in whatever way I can. Happy planning!!
  4. to the forum and happy planning!!

Here's hoping!
  6. Shelly, PM me and I will email you the template. (You do mean the boarding pass tickets, right?)
  7. Hey Dedra! We booked the Plantation One BR Villa w/ Pool, but will most likely upgrade once we get there. We decided against paying the high fees upfront for the more expensive rooms (Romeo & Juliet), etc. and decided that we'd upgrade after the fact if we wanted a higher grade room. (The fact that neither of us has been to the resort yet also factored into this decision.)
  8. This may be a long shot, but do you think it's feasible to have the hotel allow you to use a several golf carts and just shuttle the people back and forth with those? It may be worth a shot if the hotel/resort is accomodating...
  9. Hi Dedra! I think I'm the only SGOR bride on this forum currently. There were a couple of Sandals Villagio brides, but their weddings have already taken place. I'm happy to help you with anything I can, but I don't know how much of a resource I can be since I've never been to the resort (or Jamaica!). I can share with you the reasons that I chose the resort sight unseen and we can compare notes if that would be helpful. Good luck with your planning! Gionne
  10. Awww! That is so disappointing. I'm sorry you're going through this. Since everything is so recent, there may be a way to salvage this situation...I hope!!!
  11. to the forum Reggie! So nice to have you!
  12. Ironically, I think I've been there before years ago when I was around 9. We took pictures at the spot where we could stand with one foot in NC and one foot in TN. It was cool--and very beautiful.

I feel like if I'm going to have a list at the guestbook table or whatever then why even have individual placecards it seems like a waste. they can just go to the list, find their name and then find their table? but if I really want my starfish then they will have to wander around and fine their name... I don't know...I am the worst at making decisions. Thank you girls so much for all your input!!! I don't know what I would do without this site!!! Not necessarily! If you put number cards on the tables, and have the name and table number (along with your starfish), there should be no need to have a list. They can just go to the specific table. You can even make it fun by using different pics of starfish on the name cards and have the people match the starfish pic on their name card to the starfish pic on the table...just an idea... (Hope this makes sense!)
  14. Congratulations and to the forum!
  15. Too funny!!! (And a little morbid...)
  16. I think that you would have all of the nametags in one place on a table also if you decide to have table assignments. You would have the person's name and the table number listed on the card so they know which table to go to. Either way you decide to do it will be nice, but if you don't want people to wander around looking for their names, create table numbers and assign people to tables. The possible drawback would be you'd have to decide where you want people to sit (who sits at the table with whom...)
  17. You're probably right about that. When you put it that way, it sounds really good. Maybe I'll even do a second dress for dinner at the restaurant!

I'm guessing if we start at 9:00 now, all of our hair and stuff will be done and we'll be ready to go around 1:30. I am going to have the photographer come to my room at 1:30 to get some shots. Then, from 1:45 til I'm guessing around 3:30, we'll have the ceremony and more pictures on the beach. I'm going to tell my guests they can either go freshen up and relax and meet back for dinner or they can come with us and the bridal party to one of the bars to have some drinks for a few hours. During this time, I'm going to have my sisters go over to the Planation to make sure that the reception is set up as I want. At 6:15 or so, I'll make my way over to the Plantation and do the whole reception thing. I'm now undecided on whether to do the Plantation for 4 hours or for 2 hours plus the disco for 2 hours. Sounds good. I guess I was thinking about how to let the day flow without a big break in the day, but that may not be a bad thing. I'm going to have a cocktail reception with heavy h'ors, so maybe it would be a good idea for me to go ahead and have a break and have everyone meet me for dinner at one of the restaurants later (and then I can get around the high cost of a sit down dinner reception.) I just need to decide whether to do the cake cutting, first dance, etc. during my little cocktail reception or not. I'm not sure how I feel about that. *Sigh* So much to decide!
