    Hola!

Hi & to the forum!! I'm dying to get up to Portland to visit my brother - in - law & his family . . . Happy planning . . . Robin
  5. Congrats on your recent engagement & to the forum. You're sure to get lots of great information from all the brides here! Happy planning! Robin
  6. I'm shooting several weddings there - I'm on their guest list & staying a minimum of 3 nights at the resort, so all good! I could be wrong, but we didn't really look at RIU because of we heard of their photographer rule. Also resort photographers generally do not have a reputation to uphold so you might not get someone that is putting their heart into it, as they probably are getting paid much less than the money you are paying the resort. Anyway, we are paying $3500 for coverage with the files. It's probably cheaper if you don't want an album but we wanted one. The photographer is traveling down for us and that price included travel. Heres the website if interested Tait Fine Art Photography
  7. Congrats on the job, Vi!! I guess you finally got your CV done even with me enticing you to add more photos to your website . . . Hope your bridesman will get those measurements to you really soon, so you don't have to stress about it much longer. Not much longer before we'll get to meet in Mexico!
  8. AWESOME!!! I knew they'd do the right thing . . . that's one reason I recommend them to my brides that get their digital negatives! Quote: Originally Posted by Raeka That was quick. 9. Very beautiful . . . going to look awesome on the metallic paper!!!

If you have any qustions, let me know.
  11. Mpix is very good about fixing their mistakes - contact them to let them know it is out of order & about the white border . . . they should reprint. Quote: Originally Posted by Raeka Am I impressed? Sort of.... It is very good printing quality I must say. But for some strange reason my pages are mixed up. I published them to be in chronological order (from our first 5 years to present) but they're all over the place. I don't know what happenned. Also near the end there is this white border which shows up and it upsets my perfectionist side. I did them all the same size, so how come some of the pages have this ugly white border and some don't?! AHH! Last bad thing to note; I had this mother theresa quote which was very long and supposed to be the last page BUT since they messed up the pages it's right in the middle of the book. Now for some good; I love the pearl finish. It gives it a metalic feel with the black and whites. I'm glad I took a chance on that. I was more than impressed with their speedy shipping. I ordered on Wed morning and it got here this afternoon (Fri). I just ordered the regular shipping so that's awesome timing. Not too sure if I am going to re-order. Looking at my file on their website THEY messed up not me. I think I will just use this book for my guests to sign. Last but not least, pictures! My cat was being a brat and was trying to play as you will see. And the pearl finish is hard to photograph, it reflects alot. sorry. The cover (nicely done in gold etching) The white border I'm not impressed with For $41(incl shipping and etched writing on the front) it was a good deal for a high quality product but I'm questioning their mess up with the order of my book and the white border. I guess next time I will know.

I feel a great photographer is worth every penny, but I am also trying to be strong about sticking to the budget I set for myself. I have a lot of friends attending who take great amature pictures, including the guy who did our engagement pictures, so I feel like they will capture some good pictures. I know it won't compair to the work you guys do, though. Not to say that their work is any less than ours . . . I just thought that was alot for a resort photographer.

  14. Wow - we've got more Louisiana people here than I orginally thought!! I've spent so much time researching family-friendly resorts for the wedding, that I haven't even started on honeymoon resorts! And dlou, great to see another Baton Rouge face! =)
  15. I quote my clients the quotes that I receive from TA or online booking source. I've had a few brides that took care of the travel arrangements, but I usually make my own.
  16. Good idea . . . I'll play too, although this is my clients & not me!!
