Our photographer is a friend of a friend and we are flying him down from Southern California to Dreams. We are paying for him and his wife's air, hotel & r/t transfers. In addition we are paying him $1000. His packages for weddings here at home start at $5000 and there was NO WAY that would have fit into our budget. My friend that put us in touch knew that we didn't have a huge budget for a photog but he told me to call Joel (our photographer, anyway). Joel outlined what he was looking for (the room & air as well as the $1000) and even sent me an agreement just so we could make sure we were on the same page. He says it's a nice chance to see a new place and it's a mini-vacation for him & his wife, so he was happy to do it. He does AMAZING work and we are getting A LOT more than what we would have got using a cabo photographer. We are getting unlimited shooting time on the wedding day by him and his wife who is his assistant, then the ayafter he will take us into downtown Cabo for some "fun" shots. We get all high res files and a flush mount album. Overall, we are spending less than what most of the photogs in Cabo were asking for and getting a lot more.

I'm planning on doing the Adesso album too but thanks for the heads up about the film, I didn't even think about it going through the Xray machine! I bought my film on ebay and am borrowing a Polaroid camera from a friend. You can find the cameras on ebay as well. FI's nieces are going to man the guestbook table so they'll be in charge of snapping everyone's pics as they go into the reception. They aren't actually "in" the wedding but I thought this would be a great way to include them.

Corset or cups???
mrsmark08 replied to Cole5worm's topic in Destination Wedding Dresses, Wedding Attire & rings

I was leaning towards cups but thought maybe I should buy a bustier to do a test run and see which I like better (even though I cant test cups until they are put in). What to do?? My dress isn't in yet but I have been thinking about this same thing. I feel like you do! One of the reasons I chose my dress was because of the way "the girls" looked. It's a halter neckline. I wondered f the cups would push them us as much as a corset. Mine are natural so they tend to be ummm...not so perky... -
To all you girls that used and recommended the Pixies, thanks so much for sharing. After seeing some of the beautiful stuff they did for you, I also ended up using them for my invites and I love them. Enjoy!! They were great to work with and very patient. I made multiple changes and it was never problem and once I gave the ok to print I had my invites in under a week!! The quality is excellent also. Now I have to get them out ASAP!! Here are some pics for you.

I am a claims supervisor for an auto insurance company. My unit handles litigated and complex injury/liability claims. I fell into that industry as soon as I graduated from college. I had no idea what I was getting into but I've been there for 10 years now!! I LOVE the people I work with which is probably why I stay because th job itself ain't that great...

Eyelash Extensions *post ALL info here*
mrsmark08 replied to jajajaja's topic in Beauty, Exercise, Diet
I agree with everone else about the MAC lashes. I just wore them for a wedding I was in a couple weeks ago. I'm scared of eyelashe extensions. A friend of mine got them and they looked really great but when they started coming out they took some of her own lashes with them so she ended up with less than she had to begin with. -
I meant to post earlier but just kept forgetting. I finally did hear back from them and we are now in the process of finalizing the invite. They emailed me a proof and I asked for them to tweak a few things. Once I get the finished product I'll be sure to post it. Like the other girls said the price will totally depend on the style you want. I am ordering the one that looks like a little book that ties on one side. Each invite is $7.25 including all the inserts and RSVP card, and then an extra .25 to have my return address printed on the envelope. Just let them know what your budget is and they will work with you. Thanks to you girls who had already used them for helping me stay patient. I am so excited to see the end result, I can't wait!!

Spanish for Dummies
mrsmark08 replied to Betsy's topic in Wedding Registry, Wedding Gift Bags, and OOT bags
I bought some too! Someone had posted about them in an OOT thread. As soon as I saw it, I ran out and got them. They're perfect!! I don't know how many guests i'm having yet either but I bought enought to cover about 75% of the people on my list. I think I'll end up having some extra. -
Dreams Los Cabos charges to hand out OOT bags
mrsmark08 replied to Leia78's topic in Destination Wedding in Cabo
So they charge to deliver them to the rooms, but not to give them out at check-in, right? I thought I had seen that before. I was planning on just having them hand them out as people checked in and bringing the remainder to the rehearsal dinner since I know not all of my guests are staying at Dreams. -
Welcome! There's tons of great info here. I'm a Bianca too Love the name!!

thanks for the info leia! i never would have known. i checked it out and the site looks great. i had to update my wedding website too because the link was no longer working. good thing i found out about this before my invitaions went out.
-
Thanks girls! I appreciate the info. I'll wait until tomorrow to see if I hear anything. If not then I'll email them again. What i like is how quickly you all received your invites after you ordered them, considering I went someplace else to check them out and they told me it would take 4-6 weeks!! YIKES!!
-
i look forward to seeing how many unread posts i have every time i get on the forum! thanks so much to tammy and the mods who make it all possible. you've provided SOOO much great info!!
-
For all of you that used Prim and Pixie for your invites and STD's I'm just wondering how quickly they responded to you. I sent them an initial email asking for info and they sent me their questionnaire. I completed it and faxed it (as well as sent an email letting them know it was coming) early Monday morning and I haven't heard back from them. Also, once you actually placed your order, how long was it before you actually got your invites? I'm probably being impatient, but I keep looking at my ticker counting down the days and I'm freaking out slightly Thanks!!

My parents liked the Golden Nugget so I have no problem staying there, and the hotel in the canyon is one they stayed at as well, it's just Harrah's I'm not sure about Harrah's is totally fine! If I had to choose between Harrah's and Imperial Palace, I would pick Harrah's. The location is ideal and the rooms are a little bit nicer than Imperial Palace. Also, Harrah's has an outdoor bar the plays great music all night long.
