  1. I got that as well in November. I guess it's just them that do not know how to hide the other people's e-mail adresses... I guess it's easier for them to send one e-mail to everyone
  2. Wonderful ! the waves were big that day ! Pictures are great with big waves!

  4. Don't forget that in April 2008, the convention center / ballroom should be ready and all wedding of 20-25 people or more will have to eat there; you will no longer get to reserve a restaurant. So no more 700$ fee ! There are too many wedding at Dreams Tulum and people were complaining that too many restaurant were closed because of big wedding; that is why the resort made a convention center. The convention center will look amazing (see my thread on it). I was there last December and I saw the construction of it.

Do you get a special menu or is this fee just to have a large group all together? Has any one tried out a restaurant outside or the resort, maybe in Tulum? Thank for all the info, I'm glad I found this forum! No special menu, but you get to pick the menu or have your guests pick what they want.
  6. At night, yes men to have pants + shoes but I did see some people have sandals. As for the lunch, men need a t-shirt + dry bathing suite + sandal Women can keep their bathing suite but need something to cover it. Think of it, would you like to eat next to someone in a bathing that you do not know? (lunch buffet, Mexican restaurant and Sea side grill/ lunch + breakfast meals) If you want to stay on your beach chair, their is always a cook next to the quiet pool, on the sand so you do not need to get dress to eat. What we did sometimes was to ask our beach waiter to get us some things from Sea Side Grill... he just loved us with our 20$ tip ! So he just came over to our beach chairs with our plates ! Dreams Tulum staff is amazing!
  7. I totally agree with Elizabeth ! It was fun to do especially that my husband is such a shy person. He just love doing it the next day when no one was around ! Not to forget that they make the most original and beautiful pictures to show off to friends and family ! Annie

Yes there would be other people in the restaurants unless you pay 700$ to have the restaurant closed. You cold alternatively have it on the beach or on the terrace, which would probably be more private (unless a bride chose the same dinner location the same day - but you could find that out from the coordinator when you get there and then you could change your plans if you wanted) NO, you can no longer do that ! ! ! That is why they are building a ball room next to the kids club ! ! Tourist were complaining that restaurants where closing every night ...Don't forget, there is about 1 to 3 wedding per day there ! Just imagine after your wedding that most restaurants are closed because of weddings...you wouldn't be happy ? !!!Groups over 20 or 25 will no longer be able to eat at the restaurants as of April 2008. The ball room is enormous... many rooms (you can have a weddding of 700, another of 200, another of 40 , etc... I did post the information about the new ball room building a few months ago (do a search a you will see the floor plan)
  9. Amy, yes I did send her a picture and like I said before, I was there when she was talking on the phone with the florist. The bouquet was exactly like I wanted it to be...but it was very simple ! One type of flower (roses) that is pretty much a classic bouquet
  10. Nice review ! I want to go to that resort ! It looks amazing ! How is the beach there?
  11. Here is a picture of my bouquet... I asked Sandra a pale pink rose that gets darker towards the tips. With me, she spoke to her florist while I was there; I was able to hear her explain what I wanted.
  12. All my guests got upgrades to a Dreams Suite (5 rooms + ours). We were lucky to all get upgraded but my guests were there while the hotel was half empty... Once ecveryone left, (the week after) the hotel was almost full ! We would of never gotten an upgrade if we would of arrived there after Dec 14th!
  13. Thanks for the comments about my girls ! Yes, they are cute but they are a handfull! My dream was to have them by our side for our wedding; they just loved being part of the whole thing ! But got tired of the pictures...
  14. Amazing ! I love it ! Don't forget, I destination wedding only last about 20 minutes (ceremony)! So I wouldn't worry about the heat...
  15. This brings back such bad memories... and regrets (loss of $) Last January 2007, it was 2600$ per person (with plane from Montreal) for the 1st week of December 2007. We couldn't afford it (us being a family of 4 + wanting to be there for 2 weeks)... Every month and week , prices changed (alot) FOR THE SAME PERIOD OF TIME! When a hotel starts to get too full, prices usually go up ! In August, prices went down to 1300 $ !/ 1 week 1900$ 2 weeks!!!!!! Right after I booked, for way more, a week before Just so you understand better, my brother paid 2100$ for 1 week (supersaver rate/deluxe room) and my cousin 1279$ for the same room just because he waited a few weeks! My tip, go on the wed site (Sunquest, Air Canada...) EVERY DAY ! Once you see the price go down take note of it and book once it starts to go up again. For me, August was the best time for my guests to book. It might not be the same this year... As for room rate only, I paid 240 $ for the room of my photographer + assistant (so for 2 guests), one day I saw the rate go down to 185$ for the room / max 2 people. I booked with expedia.ca for that single night room I reserved in July, as well as my parent s + in-laws + brother since we wanted to make sure we got a room there! My other guests prefered me taking a look at the Air Canada site until prices went down, if the hotel would of been booked, they would of stayed elsewhere+ pay for a day pass on my wedding day . Lucky for us, we were all together + upgraded to Dreams Suites! Pm me if you have any questions
  16. Leigh you are AMAZING ! Your pictures really tell the story of their wedding day and you trully capture the emotions with your camera And WOW, she is an gorgeous bride !
  17. Wow! Many of you will get to see each other (wedding during the same week)!
