Welcome to the forum and happy planning!
  3. The flowers will be here in December, I'll let you know how they turn out.
  4. Although it is still considered the hurricane season, there is very little activities in November so I don't think you should stress over it.

to the forum and happy planning! You still have a way to go, you'll be able to learn so much from this site with all the good information sharing.
  8. Melissa! You will find lots of information here that will help you to make your desicion. Probably everyone who wanted a DW had to deal with these questions initially. Will the loves ones come, will they be able to afford it, how should we plan out the whole trip, etc, etc... The truth is, not every one will be able to make it or can afford to make it. But this will be true even for traditional weddings held in the states. So like many of the other brides-to-be did, we chose a location that is most affordable to travel to. An all-inclusive resorts will keep your wedding costs down and less hassle for all the plannings and guest travels. For us, we will be spending a couple days before and after to hang out with the guests and then move on to the honeymoon. The amount of mingling is totally up to you. After all, all the guests should be able to make a vacation out of it on their own. So really, look at what's important to you and focus on those things... Good luck and let us know what else we might be able to help!

  11. It is almost here, how exciting. Congrats and welcome to the forum!
  12. We sent out STD to about 120 people and not everyone replied either. I am going to send an email reminder about the booking deadline that will garantee the lowest price to them and that longer they wait more expensive it will be. Other than that, I'll wait until Dec or Jan to send out the formal invites. I will just be asking them to RSVP online on the wedding website or call us to let us know. Hopefully we'll get almost all of the people coming to respond that way. But we know there will be a few people not making the desicion until last minute due to various reasons, but at least we know that up front. Nevertheless, it is kind of frustrating when people don't respond.
  13. Awww, don't let these things get to you. Those people need to get better things to worry about, they'll get over it. Take a deep breath, everything will be fine at the end.
  14. Ditto to what everyone said, start introducing your full name instead or whatever you like better. I'm Chinese and my first name is very difficult to say. When I was in college, there were so many versions I was tired of correcting people. So after college, I started using my middle name that I added when I was naturalized. To date, old friends from HS and college still call me by my first name. Jackie Mathey doesn't really sound funny at all. To those that make fun of it, tell them to grow up!
  15. Have you called them and see if they will fix their mess? It does look beautiful though!
  16. We invited about 120, and expect ~50 to show up. But we won't know the real number until they book. And we're still inviting more cuz it will only be $25-$30/person more.
  17. Congratulations and to the forum!
  18. Heidi, it is so great you'll still get to have your dream wedding! Hope all your guests will be very understanding and still come to the wedding to celebrate this happy day with you and Reggie!!!

    Hi

Welcome, welcome! We chose Jamaica because of its beauty and affordability. Anywhere in Caribbean will be beautiful, let us know what you choose!
  21. This necklace has been a very popular bridesmaid gift. I am thinking about getting it for my girls too. They're too cute and suits a DW perfectly. Thanks for sharing, I should stop by Kohl's asap and see if it were still on sale in stores!!!
  22. to the forum! There are plenty of RM brides here that can share some tips with you. St Lucia was one of my choices too, but I crossed it out due the to cost for my traveling guests. Good luck and let us know if we can help in anything.
