  1. When I first took the ballroom dancing class, it was in college in Ohio so it was the ballroom waltz. Since I moved down to Texas, I did Salsa, Merengue, and Chacha the most but I think it might be a little bit too hip and not romantic enough for the first dance. I actually really want to start w/ something like Waltz then break into a surprise dance but that will be a big challenge for Paul since he doesn't really dance.

It can get pretty frustrating when you are first learning. I know how to waltz. If I am just following, I am pretty good at it. I can show him how to lead on the basic moves, beyond that it will have to take time for me to figure out. That's why I am thinking we can benefit from going to professional instructors but don't want to pay a fortune either. How many lessons do you think will be sufficient?
  3. to the forum! Don't worry, everything will work out beautifully for you. There're tons of information here and helpful brides that you can ask questions to.
  4. HM registry is gaining its popularity these days. elcome to the forum!
  5. So I am debating on teaching Paul some basic moves (probably waltz, easier) to prepare for our first dance, or go with him to take some dance lessons for couples. Does anyone have any suggestions? If we decide to do dance lessons, where should we go and how much would it cost?
  6. Wed: arrive at the resort, relax for the night Thurs: work out all the details with the resort WC, relax on our own, most of the guests arrive Fri: spa treatments, rehearsal, group activity - catamaran cruise, welcome/rehearsal dinner, maybe bachelor/bachelorette parties Sat: guests on their own, wedding at 4pm, reception at 6pm Sun: brunch w/ the newlyweds, group activity - Dunn's River Fall excursion, guests on their own Mon: guests depart, newlywed goes on to HM That's the plan we have so far. The beach at COR is small and private, so we should be mingling together most of the time and relax and do whatever...
  7. to the forum! Like others mentioned, both Beaches and Riu are family friendly in Jamaica. With Beaches, you can switch to Sandals for HM. Explore tripadvisor.com or consult a TA who focuses on DW for more choices. Good luck and happy planning!!!
  8. I don't have any other options to offer other than the three suggested by others. Hope everything work out for you!!!

  13. Amy, I picked Pronovia dress. It shows your curves much better, your hips are not big at all! The other dress doesn't really stand out. But I agree, if you make the top on the Pronovia dress into a sweetheart, it will look even better!!
  14. to the forum and happy planning!!!
  15. That dress is VERY beautiful. I am so glad it worked out for you
  16. Don't get stressed out over something like this girl. It is your wedding you should be enjoying it. Just hand the list of the names to the WC and ask her to make sure everyone gets into the property. If you're still worried, ask the guests not staying at Riu to get to the resort at certain time and have someone designated (like BM or GM) to work with resort to get them in. Happy wedding!!!
  17. If you can post a pic of the dress you loved, we should be able to come up with something similar. Hope all will work out for you...
  18. When people go to DW, they will be on vacation themselves too. They will want to eat whenever and whatever they want to. With an AI, they have the freedom to eat and drink all they want, with lots of selections. On the other hand, if they know you will be picking up the bill, they will not feel as freely to choose what they truely want. AI is the best way to make your guests comfortable, knowing their costs up front and not having to worry about anything else.
  19. Dear self - Please stop being so sensitive and take everything too personally, and stop whining about everything, and get ur butt off the couch and off the computer and do something else, and go to bed early so you don't complain about not getting enough sleep in the morning...
  20. I am glad you are able to work this out with your mom. It is time like this that make your relationship stronger.
  21. I am planning on doing program fan as well so the guests can actually use them during the ceremony. Here are the templates I got from Aylee website: template-fan.doc template-fan2.doc
