  1. I defitenly know what you are going through! We went back and forth so many times (well, really me,lol. my FI was okay wherever we went) I started with Jamaica (my date was booked for all the resorts I wanted, and even one I had secured, was given away. ) Then we went to St Thomas. (only to come to the same conclusion as you, it would be too damn expensive for us and the guests). Then I did what you did, I told my FI to pick, b/c I was becoming a bit stressed about the whole situation! So that is how we ended up in Punta Cana! Once I saw pictures of the beach, I was sold!

The theives just actually just rummaged through his car and took a couple of cds, while I had to come out of pocket over $200 for my freakin window!

I was thankful enough they didnt rob me while I was still in the car, as it seems it happened an hour or so after I got home at 3 in the morning! Jerks!

  14. Congrats! And even if you decide to wear that sheet down the aisle, I know from all these DIYselfers on BDW and their ideas, it will be the best sheet dress ever, lol! Sending good vibes your way for a happy & healthy pregnancy!
  15. No need to feel guilty. I agree, nothing wrong with having too many properties, if thats what you want, and both sets of friends want to throw you a party. Just think, in reality, all 'tradition' went out the window when you started planning a destination wedding! --- Update: I just read your latest post. That solidifies my tradition out the window comment! But whose to say what tradition really is. Everyone can define it their own way. And why not start a new 'tradition' :~)
  16. I looked at this resort too when trying to decide on a resort. The resort is not huge, which I find to be a good thing. There are only about 217 rooms. The resort is about 50 minutes away from the airport though. The pictures I've seen look really nice and the suites they have sound pretty nice as well. Not sure if you saw their website or not, but here it is: Colony Bay - Resort in Punta Cana - Punta Cana Hotels I dont have any info on the wedding packages though, sorry, b/c when I was trying to request information, I was informed they were still working on them. But I'm pretty sure they should have something together by now.
  17. Thanks for sharing. It looks like they won't be in Atlanta until October (after our wedding), but that gives me plenty of time to convince my FI to go. :~)
  18. I know!! I am going to email Grisele today explaining some of my concerns. B/c that is just beyond insane and I refuse to pay it.
  19. Here's a couple I thought of off the top of my head: MOBAY - nickname for Montego Bay, the tourist capital of Jamaica ACKEE - the national fruit of Jamaica OCHO RIOS - the cruise capital of Jamaica MARGARITAVILLE - a hip place to hang out REGGAE - popular music in Jamaica ONE LOVE - popular phrase in Jamaica Hope this helps!
