Please look at the date before responding. Thanks!

  7. I just looked at the free wedding package for 2009 and now they are including sparkling wine and cake for all of the guests (which means you won't need to pay to upgrade your cake or get more champagne). That's a bonus for the 2009 brides!
  8. I guess I was confused b/c their website is confusing. I'm on there right now and it says that the free wedding is $250, but that does not include minister, legal documentation and fees and to qualify for the free wedding you must book 5 rooms. It just doesn't make sense the way that it reads on the website. Oh well, I'm happy b/c now I have an extra $250 in my budget!
  9. Thanks for clarifying, Calia. That does make a lot more sense. I guess we all misunderstood when we first tried to figure these fees out almost a year ago (and we had no one here who had been married at the ROR yet).
  10. I'm going to disagree a little bit... My FI's gifts for his groomsmen are their clothes (shirts, pants and flip flops) for the wedding. Last fall I emailed all of them and asked them their sizes so I could order their stuff. I thought it was a great idea (so there was no confusion with the wedding attire and it was all done correctly). BUT, I found out afterwards that my FI didn't like the idea and would have rather gotten them something "cool" (but went along with my idea b/c I had already informed his GM of our plan). When he told me that I felt really bad b/c he doesn't care much about wedding planning and apparently he was upset. Long story short (well not really), I think you should take FI's ideas into consideration. If he would rather take care of the GM's and all of their wedding stuff, let him (but just be sure to follow up with him to make sure everything is getting done).

The additional $250 is for the minister and fees. The price of the steel band has gone up in 2008 to $350.

Their prices are defintely better than Tai at the RIU - but still significantly higher than the parasols I budgeted for. Argh... I don't know what I want to do. I went back and forth with the flower issue for months. I have finally decided that the girls will use parasols (after an almost unanimous vote on BDW!; see this thread: http://bestdestinationwedding.com/forum/t16292). I still think I would like for them to have flowers, but I'm not letting myself change my mind again. I had $ budgeted for flowers and still have the $ to pay for them, but paying that much for 8 bouquets just seems too ridiculous to me and I won't do it.
  19. From what I remember reading, the dj is the only vendor that needs to be paid in cash.

This sounds like my life exactly!!! How are you supposed to get in the mood when the dog is crying outside of the bedroom door? So it's always pretty comical.
