"Italian ice is a frozen dessert made from either concentrated syrup flavoring or fruit purees. It is not shaved ice that is flavored, rather, it is made by the same process by which ice cream is made: mixing ingredients and pouring them into a batch freezer. The quality of Italian ice varies widely by whether it is made with flavor extracts or natural ingredients. Technically, Italian ice is the same as sorbet, but the term "Italian ice" is usually associated with the icy artificial product that comes from using extracts, while "Sorbet" is often used for products made with natural ingredients. Sometimes the term "Gourmet Italian Ice" is used to refer to Italian ice that is made from real fruit. Common flavors include cherry, coconut, piña colada, and lemon. Some specialty shops also sell a wider array of flavors, such as cantaloupe, orange and chocolate."

But, if all of us, their friends and family chipped in whatever they could...that could become a possibility. Ann..if that is the only option that looks possible...don't count it out before coming to all of us for help. I can pledge my support for what I can part with. I agree with Jason. Ann, if you guys need it, you know that we're all here.
  3. I'm sorry Ann, but I have no bright ideas. I think the RV or Amtrak sound like the best options.
  4. This whole weekend was just soooo hot. I'm sitting at work in the AC, so it's not affecting me too much today. Yesterday though Mike had to mow our lawn and we had to go to an outside bbq for my work....it was just so gross outside. My PECO bill is going to be ridiculous. I left the central air on all day for the past 3 days so my poor doggie doesn't suffer.
  5. Have a wonderful wedding I wish I was going back there with you...lol!
  6. I paid both Chandlyn & Michael with a credit card. All together, I think I was paying close to $5000, so there was no way I was risking walking around with that much cash. The only person I person I paid in cash was the dj (because that is all he will accept) and it was $600.
  7. My dad passed away almost 2 years ago so I know how hard/emotional this decision is. I was going to have his 2 brothers (my uncles) walk me down, but I'm really not that close to them. So I chose my brother (who I'm very close to and who is my husband's best friend). He was in the wedding as a groomsman, so he walked me down and then took his place in line with the other groomsmen. It was really perfect because he knew what I was feeling as we were walking down the aisle and was there with some great words of support.
  8. I'm so sorry for all that you're going through. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers
  9. Happy Wedding Day!!!! Enjoy every moment of it, it flies by.
  10. I know, I'm such a dork, but I'm so excited. The show in AC is sold out (tix were on sale when I was in Jamaica), so I was dying to get ones for the Philly show. Tickets went on sale at 10am this morning and I got them!!!!!!!!!! I can't wait to see Jordan Knight for the first time in 10 years
  11. Wow! I love them!!! I seriously just got the chills when I saw the one of you two seeing each other for the first time.
  12. This is so weird. I honestly was just searching for this thread about 15 minutes ago. Mike used a cheapo ring for the wedding (I bought it at a flea market in New Orleans for $2.00 as a joke) and it broke into pieces at the reception (bad sign? lol!). So we were looking online tonight for a new one and I couldn't remember the address of the site. He's not really going to wear one, but wanted to have something for when we go out and stuff. Anyways, I couldn't find this thread, so ordered it from E- Wedding Bands: Platinum wedding bands, titanium wedding bands, Palladium Wedding Bands, Wedding Rings, Tungsten rings instead. I can't believe how inexpensive this site is though...craziness!

Kids began shouting out things like carrots- more laughter, cucumbers- even more laughter. Poor thing never got it. Can someone explain to me what a "tossed salad" is? I have heard it 100 times and have never known what it meant?!?!
  14. I have never had a baby so I can't say for sure, but honestly I have never heard of something like that. First off, there was no way that your mom should have had to pay for the entire shower and do all of that work. It was nice that she did, but as far as I know, that's not what's expected. Secondly, there is something wrong if all of SIL's familiy and friends are called and are allowed to visit and hold the baby and your parents are not. I don't think this is about her "bonding with the baby". She's singling out your parents for some reason. I'm so sorry for your mom and dad, that is such a shame. Have they ever had any issues with her before?
  15. There is a group of 8 of us who have been friends from grade school/high school. One of my girlfriends started a tradition when the first of us got married - a handkerchief with ours and our husbands names embroidered on it to carry with us on our wedding day. I think it's such a great idea and it really was my perfect something borrowed and blue. I was the 5th one of us to get married, so 3 girls to go. I'll have it til April when I get to pass it on to my BFF! Here are some pics:
  16. I couldn't imagine NOT having a bridal party. I know a lot of the girls here have issues, but (not to sound like I'm gloating b/c really I'm not) I didn't at all. I am very lucky to have 3 sisters and 1 SIL and 4 BFFs who didn't utter one word of complaint for the entire year I was crazy planning or while we were away in Jamaica. Getting ready with them and hanging out all day in my room was just so perfect. Also, they were all so awesome in putting together my shower and bachelorette party. So I guess my advice would be if you can't envision your wedding planning, preparation and day without those closest to you being your BMs, then you have to have it. I'm sure I could have not had one, and the girls would have been there with me anyway getting ready, but having them be a part of it just made it so much more special to me.
  17. Celina, I am so sorry that you had to go through such a horrible horrible experience. But I'm glad everything worked out. Take this weekend and relax and spend some great family time with your FI and kids...you truly deserve nothing but the best.
