Thanks for posting those. I'm starting to get a little aggravated with the RIU. They don't tell us any of their prices beforehand (we're going nuts trying to find them) and then they are sooo expensive! This wedding is going to cost a fortune

Mike and I met when I was 14! He was my brothers' roommate at college and was 20 years old...so it would have been a little illegal to start dating then! We started dating on September 20, 2002 (my brother was NOT happy about it at first) and got engaged on April 21, 2007 (now my brother is very happy I'm making his best friend his brother-in-law!!!). By the time we get married, it will be 5 1/2 years together.

Congrats! Can't wait to see it...

It's sad, but we live on lean cuisines, cereal and sandwiches. Neither of us likes to cook, so it's either something simple or we order in. God help us when we have kids!

I'm glad I'm not the only one. When Mike and I first started talking about this a few years ago, we thought it would cost maybe $5000 for the whole thing. When I told him my estimate had tripled, he didn't understand why. It seems when you book it that everything is included, but obviously it doesn't. Thank god we have this forum because otherwise I would show up the week of my wedding totally unprepared!!!!

This was their response: Hi Ms. Moran Thank you for your interest in using Kreations to do your wedding flowers. Our bridal bouquets start at Ja. $2500 up depending on the type of flowers used. We do boutineers, balloon decorations(arches, clusters columns), decorations with lights and tulle. Please let us know the type of flowers that you are intersted in using and if you can get pictures of the types of bouquets that you like we could give you and idea of the costs as next year is a long way off and we cannot tell what the prices of flowers will be at that time. I am going to the RIU resort in Ocho Rios. They have them everywhere, Mexico, Jamaica, etc. I have 5 nephews under the age of 8 coming.

All Wrapped Up got back to me. Before I do anything, we need to make sure that we can get a delivery of outside flowers. The following is their email: Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for contacting us. Each wedding is custom designed i.e. we determine with your help, all the pieces required for your wedding and create them according to your colour palate and type of flowers required. We are a full service design team so we take care of all flowers, large decor pieces, table arrangements, lighting, special linen such as chair covers, tiebacks, overlays etc. If you need only wedding party flowers - brides bouquet, bridesmaid etc. that can also be done and delivered by a courier to you at your hotel. We do a 1hour consultation with the bride at no cost. If you wish to then book your date with us we will prepare an estimate for your perusal. A 50% deposit is required at booking and the balance is paid 21 days before your wedding. Our cancellation fee is 25% of your estimate if you cancel within 60 days of your wedding date. Ok, I found 2 different florists in Ocho Rios and then a few more around Jamaica that said in their ads they deliver all over. I will email them all and see if any of them get back to me. I think we should try to get in contact with another florist in Ocho Rios and see what their prices are and then check to see if they are allowed to deliver the flowers to the resort. I'll see what I can find today on the Jamaican Yellow Pages online.
