I've worked too hard for it to be covered and not as defined as it should be and this is 100% STRICTLY DUE TO POORER DIET CHOICES than I've made in the past. If anything, I've stepped up my workouts. What I have to do now is get more disciplined, get my diet more on track consistently. I'm a big eater and always have been, I wish I didn't eat like a truck driver. I know what I have to do and how to do, just wish I could practice what I preach. I know, it's hard to stay on a good diet! Good luck!!!

I agree with you that a good diet is essential, but be careful about getting your body fat percentage too low. A good bfp for women is around 21-28%. I had a very serious eating disorder that I had to be hospitalized for about 6 years ago and my body fat was less than 20%. Looking back, I definitely looked way way too skinny and was obviously very unhealthy. I think I have pretty good abs now and my body fat is probably around 21%(I'm guessing). As long as you watch what you eat and exercise almost daily, that's all that matters.

I definitely recommend strength training. I was a pretty serious runner up until about 6 weeks ago. I now have a stress fracture in my right calf as a result of running way too much and am wearing a boot on my leg til it heals. I thought I would put on 5-10 lbs over the 6 wks since I couldn't do cardio and could only lift, but I seriously lost 7 lbs! I always thought that I had to run to lose weight, so it really surprised me that this happened. I've been lifting weights about 4-5 times a week. BTW - I didn't change my eating habits at all. I'm a vegetarian and generally a healthy eater, but do also have the weekly pizza/fries/beers!

Riu wedding requirments and Docs
Spazz replied to Jerzzygirl's topic in Jamaica Accommodations & Site
I had a dream a few weeks ago that we were at the ceremony, but they wouldn't let us get married b/c Mike forgot his passport. In the dream, I was asking if we could just do a "fake wedding" since everyone was there, but they wouldn't let us. So, I will DEFINITELY remember to remind you with this dream fresh in my head! -
show us your rings!

Sorry, I totally highjacked this pic from someone else on the forum, but I can't find a picture of mine online and this is seriously exactly it! I love it so much, the only problem is trying to find a band to match. I think I'm going back to the jewelers where Mike got it this weekend to see what they can do. -

Thanks for starting this thread...I would love to hear about the required documents! (Someone please remind me to do this in 7 months or so!) -

It is so beautiful! If I had mine, I'd probably try it on every other day... -

We can go now...lol Sorry, totally off topic again, but when you mentioned your passports, I was just thinking of the stuff we need to send to the RIU before we go. Is it just copies of our passports and birth certificates? How far in advance do we need to send them? (I guess I should have started a new thread!)

Jerzzygirl - I just noticed how close your wedding is! You're the first one of us to go down there. Are you getting so excited? You will definitely have to give us a rundown of the RIU when you get back (including all these crazy prices)!!!

My idea for table numbers...

OR you and your fiance could print out table numbers in your wedding colors and go to the beach with a friend and have the friend take photos of you both holding up the numbers. it would look especially neat if you both wore white linen or something very beachy and tropical. Thanks so much for the ideas. I probably won't actually do them for a few months (when I know how many tables I'll have). I'll let you know how they turn out! -
We need to get all of those brides in the pictures on this forum to talk to us

Thanks Heidi! I love seeing pictures of weddings there!!!

Thank you girls for all of your sweet replies, it means a lot

I just wanted to post because I'm really happy about what happened... I was telling my 7 year old nephew Josh about how I want him to find a good shell so he can carry up our rings at the wedding. He told me that my dad and him collected a bunch of shells on the beach last summer and he saved them, so could he use one of those? My dad passed away suddenly last September, so I thought this would be a great way to incorporate something. When we went to look at the shells, I saw that my dad had drawn on each of them, i.e. a flag, a shark, a person, etc. He also drew a shamrock on one of them...he was so into his Irish heritage. So, we're going to use that one. I love it! (Sorry, I was so excited, I posted this in the wrong section!!!)

I'm thinking of doing a picture thank you card, either through Kodak Gallery or Snapfish. I think it's relatively inexpensive.
-
I don't know if anyone else has posted about this, but this is my idea: I'm taking pictures of numbers written in the sand, then putting the pictures in frames. I think I'll buy unfinished frames at a craft store and then paint them in the colors of my wedding and hot glue those little wooden things on them (palm trees, shells, etc). These will be my table numbers! Has anyone done something like this? What do you all think

Is anyone NOT upgrading at the resort?
Spazz replied to boscobel's topic in Wedding Flowers, decoration, cake, etc.
I got the "free wedding package" at RIU and was only going to add on bouquets and bouteniers, but now that I'm reading more and more, I too am getting more and more ideas and it's getting more elaborate. My FI thinks I should just "let it go" and see what happens, but my inner control freak is having a problem doing that! -
I considered the RIU Negril, but decided on RIU Ocho Rios because I have a very large group going and wanted a bigger hotel. But there are a lot of Jamaica brides-to-be here and we can definitely help you with your planning! Congratulations!!!

The only problem with that is trying to pack it all up and bring it all down!

I am just using the photographer at RIU. It would be way out of my budget to bring one with us. I'm praying that the pics turn out good!

I sent her a pic of the bouquet I want and she said they could do it for $62. I haven't heard back from anyone else. I'm having a bad feeling that RIU won't let us use anyone else though

Kreations Flowers seems so much less expensive, I really hope we can use them. Heidi, has anyone from RIU gotten back to you about using outside florists?
