  1. I always send a gift if I was invited. If I don't go to the wedding, I usually just order something off of their registry. If I do go, I give cash (so many people prefer that so they have something for their honeymoon). But, my FI said he never heard of sending a gift if you don't go to the wedding(...then again, he's the type of person who doesn't remember his mom's birthday and shops Christmas Eve, so I wouldn't go by what he does!) The DW brides that have already gotten married, do you find that people still send gifts if they don't come? I feel as if they don't because it's a DW, but I have no idea!

There explanation why the group prices were so much more was because group fares do not need to be paid in full until 60 days before, so for that convinence it was an extra 100.00, so we just decided to book on there website. I never even thought of AC...good idea! All of Mike's family lives in Jersey, so that may work out well if they decide to book it on their own. Thanks for the info!

Carly - Has your TA found any cheaper flights for you yet? Keep us updated. Definitely don't settle for $670!

Cuz i can't change anything now. It would have been cool to knwo someone who was getting married at the same resort and the same day though I have 5 nephews under the age of 7, so I was definitely looking for somewhere kids could go. Beaches was my first choice b/c of the kids' activities, but our TA talked us into the RIU. It definitely would have been cool to get married at the same resort the day before you. But we'll have fun instead planning together!
  14. We chose Jamaica because: 1. It is a relatively short flight from the east coast. 2. It is affordable for our guests. 3. We didn't want to do "traditional" b/c both of our dads have passed away. 4. Mike has been to 2 weddings there and loved it. 5. It seems like one big party and that's what we want our wedding to be!
  15. I love love love the blue one, but I voted white b/c it's more "wedding" (and it's really cute too)!
  16. Heidi, You are the best for doing all that! I want to get married at Beaches Boscobel now!!!!!
  17. We registered at Target and Bed Bath & Beyond. They are both so easy to do. I actually did most of it online. Target is great b/c Mike and I have lived in our house for 3 years and don't need much traditional stuff, so we were able to get cool things like a bike stand, bar stools, etc.

  20. Chandlyn just emailed me back. WE CAN USE OUTSIDE FLORISTS!!! My Question: Are outside florists allowed in or do we need to use Tai Flora? Her Answer: You can have an outside florist. Yeah

I know it will be fine, it is just, can I let it go until them?! hahahahaa. I am too anal and want to know everyything NOW, when I am sure that the end result will be fine. Carly, It must be hard b/c we're all talking about RIU all the time, but I'm sure you will have a great wedding. My FI went to a wedding at the Sandals in Ocho Rios and I think that is part of the Beaches He said it was awesome. My nephew is mad I didn't chose Beaches b/c isn't that the one with the huge waterslide?

Photos are the most important thing (after dress), in my opinoin anyway. Carly, It's still more than 9 months away...is there any way you could change it to the RIU? That would be so fun if we were both there at the same time!

My TA used Air Jamaica and got the flight for $465, which includes taxes and transfers. I would go back to your TA and tell her what I got and see what she can do. If she can't do better, I would definitely shop around for another TA! $670 is WAY too much to pay.
