  2. I was going to ask the very same question... Mike is obnoxious in that anything he wants, he buys. So, every holiday, birthday, etc there is NOTHING to get him. He already has a really nice watch (that he bought himself last year!). I don't want to do boudoir photos, so I have no clue what to get him. Of course, I already told him what I want - the Coach Legacy leather satchel:) Can't wait to hear what all you girls got/are getting your FIs...
  3. I also like these too, but haven't got a quote for this one yet:

I'm not really sure what I want yet. I still haven't found bridesmaid dresses. The flower and color depends on what kind of dresses we get. I have been looking for something beachy and light but haven't had any luck. I love bright flowers, I sent her a couple different ones and decided on gerber daisies. She asked for a picture of my bridesmaids dresses and I sent her one, so she can match up the flowers/ribbon with the dresses.
  6. Ok, I was on the "Quick Links" menu and clicked on "Mark Forums As Read". Now when I log in, I can only see what is posted from the last time I was on, rather than all of the posts that I haven't read from days ago. How do I go back and change this, mark the posts as unread?
  7. Angela, I think your nose is absolutely fine. But, if it's something you really want to do, I would definitely do it at least 6 months before the wedding to give you and everyone else time to get used to it.
  8. Welcome Crystal! It sounds like you have a lot done already...the date and location are the hardest to figure out. There is a ton of information here and a great group of people. Let us know how we can help!

    Hi Everybody!

and congrats! You'll find tons of information here. Happy planning!
  11. We're paying for everything ourselves. Both of our dads are deceased and we won't accept money from our moms. We're actually paying for our moms to go to Jamaica. That being said, I'm mainly using the money I got from my dad's estate to pay for everything, so I guess my dad is paying in his own way:)
  12. Hey Jerzzygirl... Did you find out if you can scan your documents and send them to Chandlyn? Or did you mail them?
  13. The same sort of thing is happening to me. I used to run 30+ miles a week and lift twice a week, but I now have a stress fracture in my calf and have been in a "boot" since Memorial Day (and it's still not better!!!). All I do is watch what I eat (but really I don't, I just eat like I always have which is pretty healthy) and now I lift upper body 4-5 times a week. Unbelievably I have lost 7 lbs!!! I seriously didn't even want to lose weight, I just wanted to not gain too much. My FI says it's the lifting that's doing it. So, maybe try to keep lifting, for more days and more time with more weight or more reps.
  14. I wasn't happy with the rubber stamp I got for my return address for my STDs, but I didn't complain. It seems like most people here love them though, I could have just ordered a bad item.

    Hola from DC

Melissa! Congrats on picking your date and location, that's one of the hardest things. I can't help with the reception venue, but I'm sure there are girls here that can. Good luck planning!

  18. Hey everyone! I sent out my STDs a few months ago and told people to contact the TA by August 15 to secure their spot at the group discounted rate. At this point, I have 62 confirmed. I know some people are booking it on their own, so I'm definitely sending out invitations so I can get a real head count. My question is, if I'm getting married in May, how far in advance can I send out invitations without it being too early? I'm nuts and want to know who's coming asap, so I want to send them out as soon as it seems appropriate. Thanks for your input....
  19. Em! Congrats on your engagement!!! Let us know how we can help you plan.

  21. I would definitely take them out of the Tiffany's boxes and buy new generic ones, so they don't think the one they have is real. I did the same thing for my mom last Christmas, I bought the eternal circle necklace on ebay that was "Tiffanys" and then put it in another box. BTW - they are really nice, I love them!
