  1. I had maybe 10 guests who gave us gifts in Jamaica, but they were all cards (with money in them), so they weren't hard to bring home. But the majority of gifts we received after we got home. EDIT: Also, this was after I told my family to pass the word around that we didn't want any gifts ("Presence is present enough"). Apparently, no one listens to this...lol!
  2. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, JASON & KAREN!!!! I hope you two are having a fabulous time in Jamaica Mon!
  3. Edna, I'm so sorry to hear your news. You're such a sweetheart, I know that everything will work out for you
  4. I was so happy to be back and have nothing wedding-related to do. We were actually supposed to have an informal AHR party in June, but nixed it (we didn't send out invitations so it was easy to do). I just couldn't deal with any more wedding stuff. But just think...it's almost over! And you will have a fabulous party this weekend!!!
  5. Glenda, you looked absolutely beautiful and I'm glad it all worked out for you! I cannot believe that there was a funeral and then that the priest had a heart attack...craziness! I'm so happy that the Lamberts were there and that Jason was able to be your photographer. Once again, Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to say...I love love love your red shoes and your cupcakes!
  6. I went barefoot down the aisle and then put my "Just Married" flip flops on afterwards. I was planning on putting on my fabulous heels for the reception, but was just too comfy in the flip flops to get changed.
  7. Jenn, I am so sorry. I remember all of the issues you were having with Sam's dad coming to your wedding and how pissed both of you were then. I cannot imagine how you feel now. What is he interested in? This could be his chance to get started in a field that he really likes. Let me know if you need anything.
  8. Everything looks great, Karma! I went by the Royal Plantation when I was down there on my honeymoon in May and it looks amazing. Have a wonderful wedding!!!
  9. When my BFF got engaged a few months ago, I made a basket filled with: tons of bridal magazines, a wedding planning binder, a ring holder (really nice & inexpensive Lenox one at BB&, champagne and a wedding picture frame & album.
  10. You & your family are in my thoughts and prayers. Big hugs!
  11. You can change it when you meet with Chandlyn. I think several girls did this.
  12. Wow Amy, everything looks amazing! My favorite thing is the FG dresses...so beautiful! Have a wonderful wedding
  13. That's such great news, Jaime!!! I'm so happy for you and can't wait to see what dress you choose.
  14. This is a new way to pick your bridal party...lol: And the bridesmaid is... Dr. Pepper - TODAY Throws a Wedding: Race to the Altar - MSNBC.com
  15. Happy Wedding Day!!!! I hope you have a wonderful, drama-free, perfect day!
  16. I got a manicure & pedicure on the morning of my wedding. They were still good when I got home from our honeymoon more than a week later. They did a great job!
  17. I'm going out for my favorite pizza (Pica's for anyone that lives in my area) tonight with my girlfriends. I had a huge lunch (Cosi was catered at the office and after we ate sandwiches, tons of leftover desserts that were set on my desk for some reason) but I'm always able to eat Pica's.
  18. I have my 8 year old nephew overnight and don't think my sister wants him going out on the town for drinks...lol. Have a good time girls!
  19. I invited 200+ (my choice though, not FI's mom...lol!) expecting 50-60 to attend. I was very excited that our final number was 85. The point is though don't invite a ton of people thinking that maybe they won't come because I had a ton of people (mostly from my large family) that I never thought would come (mostly aunts and uncles and cousins). I was so happy they made it, but it was a huge surprise. So if you're set on having a small number, keep the number that you invite low. Your FI should talk to his mom about it.

My cake was supposed to feed 100. It was 3 layers.
  21. I had 2 triples and it is only 2 beds. You can request a cot from the front desk though. We all had junior suites and the couches are not pull-out. When I was upgraded to the jacuzzi suite, I can't really remember, but I feel like that couch was not a pull-out either. As for the doubles, tell your guests to request 2 beds at check-in. That's what mine did and it worked for them.
  22. Welcome back!!! Congrats, Morgan & Mike
  23. Yay! Congrats Christine & Will!!!! I can't wait to see pics!
  24. Mike is in Chicago for work, so I was lazy and made myself bagel pizzas and then had an ice cream sandwich. Alyssa, I'm so jealous of your sushi, that's my favorite. Where do you order from? My favorite place in the city is Mixx. It's around 11th and Samson (I think).
