The floral strapless dress in clover I wanted something simple too, but did fall in love with my dress. I love them both now! My one sister wanted the floral dress from David's, but the other didn't, so we looked around. We ended up getting them at Stella Maris, which is right off of 476 on MacDade Blvd. They are tea length pink strapless dresses. Funny b/c I really wanted light green, but this dress looked so good on all of my BMs in the pink.
  3. Our situations sound very similar. I sent my STDs with a cut-off of August 15 for the "special discounted rate" and got 60+ people booked. I wanted to wait til 3 months before to send the invitations, but my TA told me she needs to know definitely how many are coming by the end of January. This seems REALLY early for a May wedding. I think guests are going to think I'm nuts sending out invites 6 months before the wedding, don't you? But I guess this is how it has to be done... If I were you, I'd send them out before the holiday rush, so it doesn't get put to the side during the holidays.
  4. I think I'm getting both the koozies and the cups at: Promotional Products, Coffee Travel Mugs, Koozies, Wedding Favors!
  5. Matt, That is a truly amazing story. It makes me realize all the details of the wedding just aren't that important. As long as I'm with Mike and our families/friends, it will be perfect. Thanks for sharing and your beautiful pictures.
  6. OMG!!!!! HOT! I'm getting a little embarrassed, I feel like I'm walking into your bedroom...lol
  7. Ocho Rios sounds like it was affected, but definitely not the extent that everyone expected. I emailed the WC at RIU Ocho Rios and this was her response: Hi Elizabeth Thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Fortunately we were not greatly affected here in Ocho Rios. We are alive and are very grateful that. Some homes are flooded and most places are without electricity. Again, thanks for your prayers. Regards Chandlyn
  8. Sorry girls, this is off topic from RIU... Quote: Originally Posted by bex1975 here is the Style #: T9337 I LOVE IT! Mine is no longer available at David's, but this is almost the exact same one they have on Alfred Angelo's website:

LOL...I did the same thing, I got my dress at Davids. It only took like 3 weeks to come in (but they told me it may take up to 4 months). I'm also outside of Philly...all of us Philly/Jersey brides here...crazy!
  11. I say pick the place you want to get married, regardless of anyone elses' opinions and then make it definite. Don't listen to what others say, it's YOUR wedding. If both of your sets of parents will be there, that is wonderful. Other than your parents, don't change your plans for people (and it sounds like your parents wouldn't ask you to change your plans). That being said, if you think you wouldn't regret it in the long run, I'd say elope if it makes you both happy! (Sorry, I just reread this and I'm talking in circles...)

Most bridal shops recommend ordering your dress very early (and it may take awhile to find what you want too!). Tell us your plans, we love to hear what everyone is doing....
  13. Trista, Soooo happy to hear this news! Hopefully the hotel realizes the situation you were in and gives you a room. Keep us updated.

Don't worry, you definitely don't need to go overboard and do everything we talk about. Some of us are just crazy planners and others just go with what's offered at the RIU and their weddings are beautiful. Just decide what is most important to you (flowers, photographer, etc) and focus on that, the rest will fall into place. Tell us what you're thinking for your wedding and we'll help get you started.
