When I clicked on it, it took me to the Vista site where it said 100 postcards are free. I can forward you the email if you PM me your email address. Not sure if it would work for you, but you can try!
  3. With your wedding being 8 months away, I would send out a formal invite in the next month or so instead of a STD. Otherwise, you'll send the STD now and then send an invitation in a few months anyway. The more information your guests have, the easier it will be for them to plan. 8 months seems like awhile, but for a DW, it's really not because people have to think about work/money/passports/etc.

    Hi Everyone

to the forum! I am also getting married at the RIU Ocho Rios! You will find tons of information here. Let us know how we can help you plan.
  6. Carly, Mo talks about it in the thread titled: "All RiuOR Noon or Earlier Brides...What can we do until 6PM" on the 4th or 5th page (sorry I couldn't get the link to work!).
  7. Well, I certainly don't think you're fat and I am certain you don't look like a whale in it; but, I know what I think isn't the issue. If you're really really not comfortable with how you look in the dress, you should return it. It's your wedding day and you want to be happy with yourself and feel good.
  8. I think it's a beautiful dress, so I can't imagine it looking bad on you. Explain more what YOU don't like in the pictures (not your mom or sis)...

I thought about getting a really good blowout with a flip at the bottom, but I'm worried it won't hold in the heat/humidity. My hair is about that length now. I'm in a wedding next month, so I think I'm going to have to steal this idea! (Thanks!) Hopefully, my hair will be at least shoulder-length by May because I want to put it up for my wedding. Thanks for all of the ideas girls!!!
  10. That looks awesome! You're getting so much figured out this week (photographer, invitations, honeymoon), it must feel great
  11. I've always loved that song...good choice!

Wow, those prices are crazy! Yes, they are a part of the RIU. You should definitely see if you can book your reception there, it's right next door, isn't it? (Then we can hang out too!)

  15. Hey girls! I have been looking for an inexpensive starfish necklace and found one at Kohl's. I'm not sure if they are a national/international chain or not, so I checked online and they also have them there. Here is the link for those who are interested: apt. 9 Sterling Silver Starfish Pendant
  16. Hey girls! I originally posted about them on August 4. I apologize, I was wrong, they were 30 cents not 15 cents (I knew it was something really cheap!). http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...-michaels.html
  17. Mo, I'm glad you got everything worked out, that sounds like a good plan. I don't think anyone will be offended about the rehearsal dinner. That is normal to have a dinner with the wedding party, they probably won't think twice about it. Chandlyn also emailed me yesterday. She said that the $10 per person for Seagrapes is $10 total not per hour. Also, Carolina at RIU emailed me to say that there are no cancellations on the day of my wedding yet and that there is no way I can be moved to a later time I'm thinking I may call them next month just to check again. I also offered to pay extra to have my wedding moved to 5:00, but she said ministers and judges don't work after 4:00 in Jamaica. Oh well!

I'll contact her about this. Did you have to pay extra for it?

  20. Tammy, all of the pictures are great, you were a gorgeous bride! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
  21. LOL...those pics are so cute and funny! Can't wait to see more!!!!
  22. I definitely wouldn't cancel. You will still find ways to have fun outside of the water. It sucks, but don't let you ruin your whole trip.
