  1. Mike and I are paying for our moms trips, so that's our gift to them. I said I wouldn't get them anything else, but of course I already did. I just bought them "mom" wedding handkerchiefs and will probably get my mom an inexpensive starfish necklace. Oh, I also got her a monogrammed tote bag, but will probably give that to her for Christmas instead.

  3. Oh, I almost forgot... I also ordered pink leather luggage tags for my BMs from ebay. I did the same thing...contacted the seller and they gave me a better deal than I expected! Here is the link for that: eBay Store - Luggage Tag Name Tag Crafts Leather: Yellow Neon Luggage Tags, Blue Neon Luggage Tags
  4. I just ordered beach bags for all of my bridesmaids from a seller on ebay. I got to pick the color of the bag and the ribbon (I got a black bag and pink/lime green striped ribbon) and the font. Before placing a bid, I contacted the seller (Suzanne) and she responded so quickly and gave me a great deal on the bags and on shipping. In case any of you were thinking of getting your BMs something like this, the seller is Linen Classics. Here is their ebay link: eBay Store - LINEN CLASSICS Weddings and Gifts: EMBROIDERED HANDKERCHIEFS, TOTES Bride Bridesmaid GIFT, BEACH Here is a pic of the bags I got (but different colors):
  5. We invited about 240, which is about the amount we would have invited to a home wedding. We are expecting 65-85. So far 63 have booked and paid their deposits. I was anticipating 50 or so, but a lot of guests who I never would have expected to come are coming.
  6. I agree that it's a lot to carry down. It's a great idea, but would be a hassle. I am mostly giving smaller things and I'm already worried on how to transport it all down there!
  7. to the forum! Happy planning!!!
  8. This will be tough because Mike hates pictures. Let me see what I can find... BTW - Great idea, girls!!!!
  9. Here is my dog Corks. This is when he was a baby... I got him as a Christmas present from Mike 2 years ago, he was only 4 lbs. when we first got him (now he's 23 lbs.!):

Today as BRIDE and GROOM have sealed their commitment to each other with the exchange of rings they too make a commitment to their children. We recognize the significant role that ______, ______ , _______ and ______ play in this marriage celebrated today. They will now join BRIDE and GROOM in this commitment to each other by contributing a part of each individual person into one blended family. Today, this relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these _____ individual shells/containers of sand, each representing a member of the family in all that they were, all that that are, and all that they will ever be. As each individual’s sand is poured into the family’s one united common container, the individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one. Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will become the bond with your family.

    Hi everyone!

to the forum! Congrats on your engagement. You will find so much information here. So many of us have had problems with families/friends and their reactions to a DW. If you browse around, you'll find plenty of threads about people with the same problem as you. The only advice I can give is to stick to what you and your FI want to do because it's your wedding and nobody else's! Happy Planning!!!
